I think it works?
-05.20.13
Quick Take: non-greasy, blends in easily, natural, easy to use
The only draw back is not knowing how much you have on its kind of hard to tell. Also i love that it blends into my skin and leaves my oily face with a matte look and sometimes i layer it over my spf 15 daily moisturizer. Im also around MFE 173 hd complexion and it doesnt leave me with any noticeable discoloration.

Perfect powdered sunscreen
-05.17.13
Quick Take: non-greasy, blends in easily
Being very fair, I struggle to get enough sunscreen on to keep from burning. I tried out this powdered sunscreen on a recent trip to California. After many years of dealing with a burned scalp from time spent in the sun, I have finally found the answer. No burned scalp, no burned face and both were shine free throughout the day. It was a perfect sunscreen!

Ok, was hoping for more

I will repeat what some have mentioned. It oxidizes. The first few times it was transparent, but then I noticed the powder coming out was colored. I am pale and the color is a medium shade. It is nice to have a powder, and the SPF 45 is what I want. I do still wonder how effective the powder SPF really is. I have used several brands and always put them on top of a lotion form because I really just don't trust them. I am still looking for a truly transparent powder.

I really liked this sunscreen powder. I am a mom and don't want to mess up my makeup but need to wear sunscreen at the park. This is a great way to do both. It does make your face a little lighter because the powder is whitish but that goes away.

I love it!!!! I don't like wearing sunscreen and being a fair shade, I need it. The lotion clog my pores, but this is amazing! I can brush it on and reapply easily.

I love how this product is handy, and gives me immediate SPF with a high amount of 45, too. Looks natural on my skin and is easy to use, but the only disadvantage is the packaging. Wish they would change it. I kinda find it unhygienic. :-/

It's hard to know if something really is protecting your skin from the sun, especially if it doesn't have zinc oxide. Still, I wouldn't buy this product again because it leaves powdery matte on your face, undoing that glistening skin you got from a brightener.

Great solution!

I agree with other reviewers that it can be challenging to know how much you're putting on, simply due to the translucence of the powder--but if you experiment, you'll get the hang of it. (I especially like a previous reviewer's suggestion to "dot" and buff smaller areas of your face, then blend gently.) I have fair skin with yellow undertones, and this blends in really nicely and freshens your appearance. It does not mess up your existing makeup, which is a huge selling point for me. (And I use powder mineral makeup, FYI.) Definitely worth it!

So many benefits...
-05.03.13
Quick Take: non-greasy, mattifying, non-flaky, non-drying, immediate sun protection
Could not be more happy to have found this product. I have super fair, sensitive skin that's prone to sun damage on my face & chest. I pair this with my Clinique City Block SPF 40, which despite being oil-free still always leaves me shiny & pretty greasy feeling. The PTR powder mattifies all that immediately, plus gives me more than double protection from sun damage. I feel like this is a dream team pairing, and now I really love my supercharged sun protection regimen! Plus, the powder gives you immediate SPF protection, no need to wait before going outside (who actually does that or has the time to do that anyway?) I carry this with me every day (in the box, as the packaging seems weak, being disposable), and use it for added protection & to absorb any greasiness that pops up mid-day. I don't notice the so-called skin-evening effects, I truly don't see a difference in skin tone, only the mattifying (which is great, and the main reason I tried this). Plus this powder is perfect over liquid makeup, so I don't really need for it to BE a makeup.
Word to the wise: apply carefully to avoid wasting it, because as other reviewers have mentioned, it's a little difficult to gauge how much & how evenly it goes on skin. I never had to shake or tap my applicator to get it going, I could already see a small amount on the bristles when I opened it, and just using it keeps plenty of product flowing.
At the moment I'm finding the best way to apply is to gently press the brush ends into my skin in little dotting motions, without doing any big sweeping or buffing (that just kicks up the dust, so to speak, and brushes it away from your skin-you can see it clouding up if you look carefully). So I do the dots, which I'm pretty sure leaves plenty of product behind, and then *just barely*, ever so carefully blend using tiny little tapping drags across one small area at a time, without angling or sweeping the brush. If I feel like it needs to be distributed more evenly after that I just blend with my fingertips. Who knows, but in the few days I've experimented with this applicator, that seems to be the most effective, non-wasteful method.

Convenient but..
-04.30.13
You never know when it's out and when you put on too much(since you have to put it on every 2 hrs in the sun anyways) it makes your skin feel very tight and a pores clogging feeling. Hurts my eyes and hazardous if breathed in.

Quick Take: natural
Such a perfect alternative to moisturizer with SPF! I have sensitive skin and although there are plenty of moisturizers with SPF that are suitable for my skin type, I feel limited to a group of moisturizers that I might not normally use. Also, I hate the smell of sun block and don't like the idea of having to have 2 separate moisturizers (as I don't want to sleep in an SPF-containing moisturizer). Not only does this magical product allow me to stick with my go-to-products, it's practical - easy to carry for day-to-day use as well as for travel. Though I don't wear foundation and only wear makeup for special occasions, it's nice that you don't have to deal with the film, "ashiness" or lengthy drying that often come hand in hand with SPF moisturizers. Like I said - I have sensitive skin and no reaction yet, so I'm VERY happy!

It earned a sigh of regret
-04.25.13
Quick Take: non-greasy, tinted (fair skinned beware)
I really really wanted this product to work for me. I have highly sensitive, very fair combination skin; I also live in Southern California, where it is often sunny, hence the need for a easily re-applied sunblock. Unfortunatly the "sheer" powder is tinted darker than my natural color. When applied before hopping in the car to drive home from work I had the misfortune to see it in action as it created an orange mask on my face, concentrating (unsurprisingly) in the T-zone. This product would have been a daily staple, instead, due to the dark color, it's going back.

Terrible
-04.21.13
I have to start out by saying I do not know why this powder has so many good reviews, it does not protect against sun damage, I went out in the sun, applied and reapplied and my cheeks and nose were red from the sun by the end of the day. The only thing it does well is get rid of shine. If you want a good SPF product, this isn't it. Applicator and bristles are poorly made also, it's a cheaply made inferior product with a high price tag.

Setting powder & sunscreen in one
-04.20.13
Quick Take: convenient, mattifying, sun protecting, expensive
My skin gets quite shiny during my work day and it drives me crazy because I constantly have to blot my face. This product turned out to be a great way to minimize shine, and I don't check my face in the mirror as often anymore.
In the morning, I apply this on top of all of my makeup- this gives a velvety matte look that stays together pretty well. I then reapply in the early afternoon (blotting once with oil sheets beforehand), and it pretty much guarantees my face does not get shiny by the end of the day. Much easier than carrying around setting powder and a brush. (I don't use compact foundations)
The bristles are soft enough- I don't think it's reasonable to expect a disposable product to feel like a makeup brush. I also haven't experienced a lot of shedding over the past few weeks of use (one bristle strand fell off on my face so far). It may be because apply this with a very light hand- I dab at an angle and smooth it out lightly.
I don't want the cap to fall off and end up with a ton of powder in my purse, so I carry this around in its original yellow box. Once the box gets mangled I will keep this in a tiny bag (the kind you carry around your tampons in) so it doesn't spill everywhere.
I deducted one star because of its steep price. $30 for a 0.12 oz product means this costs $250 per ounce. Try comparing price per ounce for any other suncreen on Sephora and you will see this is crazy expensive. Also given that this is so tiny it probably won't last nearly as long as most other liquid sunscreens.
However I do love the convenience of having a two-in-one powder with me at all times.

-04.20.13

i love how transparent this spf powder is and have no complaints about how it looks on my face...does it work? I hope so? The dispenser, however, is really lacking in the "great packaging" department. I'm pretty much waiting for the plastic cap that holds the brush to break open (leaving me with a very expensive brush), and there's no way to tell how much powder you have left in the package...

Genius
-04.16.13
I love this Sunscreen! I have very sensitive skin and moisturizers with sunscreen always make me break out so it was wonderful to find a power that helps set my make-up and covers me from the sun. Also I don't wear make-up on weekends so this is great to not slather liquid sunscreen on. I went to a ballgame in Atlanta in the sun and while my shoulders and arms got some color, my face did not! Great sunscreen and I highly recommend it!

Excellent for converitble owners!
-04.16.13
Quick Take: non-greasy, blends in easily, natural
Last summer, when I purchased my first convertible, I suffered sunburned scalp the first week. I'm very fair, and I sunburn so easily. Regular sunscreens could protect my face and body, but I didn't want to spray or "smear" a sunscreen in my hair! Until I found this product, I had to wear a baseball cap everywhere. Now I just dab this powder on my part, and I don't have to wear my baseball cap to drive. It doesn't make my hair greasy, so I'm back to order more for this driving season!
