Great bronzer

It's a great bronzer. It goes on very smooth and has a beautiful sheen but it's not so much a bronzer as it is a skin perfector. It smoothed out all those imperefections and has a lovely scent. Great product....would be 5 stars if it was a bronzer as well. Which it may be if you are very fair.

I purchased this last summer after it was featured in a magazine and I have nothing but great things to say! Here is the magic: it will make your legs, arms, chest, whatever body part is applied to nicely bronzed and can cover up any veins and look completely natural. I mix it with one pump of my foundation for flawless looking legs. It is somewhat water proof and won't transfer if you wait until it completely dries and won't come off until you shower. It was a super nice light scent that isn't overpowering or smells like typical self tanners/bronzers. I will repurchase every year.

It's a great product! I was a bridesmaid in my friends wedding wearing a strapless dress. I bought this to wear on my shoulders, collar bone, arms and got so many compliments on the color and it smells divine!

I love the scent and I love the bronze color -but I don't love the fact that it's overly sparkly and comes off fairly easily on clothes, especially in humid weather. It'll do for this summer, but next summer, I'll be looking for something different.

Quick Take: worth every penny!
I love this bronzed and have used it for years. I first bought it when I Was pregnant with my first daughter and couldn't use my regular self tanner. It was a godsend for my pasty white skin! I do mix it with my body lotion about half and half so it isnt too dark. This also makes it last a lot longer. Careful when wearing white clothing.

Quick Take: smoothing, natural, life-saver
This is really great! Ok, things to know: yes, it smells like coconut. It's strong, but not bad at all. People can still smell my perfume (they always comment on the MJ Daisy Eau so Fresh) and never mention anything coconutty. A little goes a loonnng way - the more you use the more fake and too sparkly it is. A nickel-sized amount (for each leg) gets my legs done really well from the middle of my thigh and all over my foot (i'm 5'10" and don't have skinny calves). It washes off easily from hands, and yes, it will get on the inside of clothes, but washes out perfectly. I've been caught in the rain with it on, and while I don't recommend it, it's not as traumatic as some might say. I generally put it on after the shower, then dry my hair. By that time I can get dressed easily without it going everywhere. Lastly, I am very very pale, but this looks lovely on - it's natural if you don't use too much, and really gives legs a smooth finish. One bottle lasted me about 2 months, so while it's expensive, definitely worth it. :)

This bronzer is awesome! The color is very natural but full. It lasts all day. The only negative is that when I put this on my legs and had on a skirt it came off on the light leather seats in my car.

Quick Take: messy, not water resistant!!!!
Although this gives a lovely skin tone, it's really just like base makeup, only for the body. Or, it's like a thicker tinted moisturizer for the body. It rubs off on clothing, etc. And, it comes off easily with soap and water. As such, if you get wet (i.e. your arms in the rain) it just comes off all over the place.
I know it says to wait 10 minutes after applying to put on clothes, but basically that's a mute point IMHO.
And, you'd better shower or bathe before going to bed, or it'll be all over your sheets in the morning. :(
It does give a lovely golden shine to your skin. Just too bad about the messiness of it all.

The best thing about this product is the smell. It has a pleasant chocolately/vanilla smell. Pretty shade, although too dark for fair skin in my opinion. I use this after I have achieved a glow with self tanner. It has a nice luminescent sheen to it. Using it on bare fair skin like mine seems to give it a coppery look - a bit of a rose tint, which I don't care for. But over skin that has either a light tan or light fake tan, it has a nice glow. I'm planning on trying the Lorac body bronzer to compare.

Quick Take: in need of improvements
I read some reviews of this product where people said it would not dry and came off on clothing, etc. after a decent amount of time (package says it dries in 10 minutes). It happened to me also. I don't know if it has to do with humidity, and we do not have air conditioning in my house, so that could be why, but I truly do not know. It's pretty, and smells nice, but that's about it. I also wasn't thrilled that it's not water proof, I mean, if you want to wear it to the beach, then what's the point? I will send it back and crawl back to self tanners.

I adore most Laura Mercier products, but I really don't like this bronzer. It is very sparkly and luminescent - it's also very dark. The product is difficult to apply - stains hands and goes on kind of splotchy. It also rubbed off on my sofa when I sat down (a couple hours after application!).

The product smells great (almond coconut) and with some work (I used a sponge) it goes on nicely, giving skin a bronzy/pink tone. unfortunately, it is too sparkly?shimmery - you look like a disco ball! also, if you cross your legs, or its warm out, the colour comes off quickly and it leaves obvious spots. I will be returning this product in search of something else.

Quick Take: one of the better body makeups, gave legs a "sort of" pearlized look, definitely has a sweet smell
I have very pale skin. When I'm around other people in the summer, the difference is even more apparent, especially with limbs more exposed. It's obvious enough that even tactless people sometimes comment about my pale legs, before they think about it. I've been spending the week trying out different bronzing lotions, bronzing powders, and other temporary products. I'm not going to try self-tanners - I'm just looking for something temporary, that will wash off at night.
Laura Mercier's Body Bronzing Makeup had potential. However, the cons outweighed the pros at least in my case. I knew from a friend who had used it that it could make a mess and stain, until dried, so I used a mitt for application. It took too long to dry. Time is important to me, and don't want to wait around waiting for something to absorb. Then I realized that my skin is extremely well hydrated, which may have created the delay. I tried again, using no other products in the shower. It did absorb much faster. However, that would mean foregoing my bath gels so that it could absorb faster. As suggested by a friend, when I finally thought it was totally dry, I rubbed a dark colored towel across my legs to wipe off any possible excess. The problem that I got, however, was that when I was outside, although my legs had more of a glow, it was a pearlized glow, almost as if I had pantyhose on, which is not the look I was trying to create. That said, it looked very pretty, but it didn't look totally natural. On the really positive side, this didn't look orangey. It did look pretty. However, it did look as if I had done something while I really wanted a totally natural "It's all me" look. This is an ideal product, perhaps, for the office, when it doesn't matter if it's looks as if you're wearing pantyhose. However, for a game of kickball in shorts, with the sun shining on your legs, it would look a little bit weird, as if it's pantyhose and shorts...
The scent, which is very sweet, interfered with my fragrance. However, it's not an offensive smell, and even smells good. When using this, it's probably a good idea to forego fragrance, and use a rollerball or purse spray later in the day or choose a fragrance which coordinates with this, and doesn't work against it. The scent is actually decent, but it is sweet, and does take time to dissipate. I don't hold the scent against it because it's actually a good smelling scent. But, because I was unprepared for it to last as long as it did, it possibly clashed with my fragrance slightly.
I tried a whole slew of different products. This is one of the better ones.

This product did not have enough color for me. I put on several coats which only made things worse! I'll keep looking for a bronzer that has a darker color and will stay on all day. If that is what you are looking for, this one is not it!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product! It gives the prettiest smoothing glow! I wouldn't say it makes my skin darker, but just prettier. Blends light skin imperfections and smells yummy! I can't wear perfume due to allergies, but the light scent in this product doesn't bother me at all. Love the look of my skin in pictures too when I use this. My friends LOVE it too, and always want to borrow it whenever we get ready together. I will use this forever! 1 word of caution, I do find that it rubs off on my leather car interior. Not bad, but you may want to be cautious until you're familiar with the product.

I've tried many bronzing creams for my legs but this one is the best!!! Ladies stop me to ask me if I'm wearing stockings. Many friends want to pinch my legs 'cause they can't believe the effect. You can control how shiny your legs look. You can even put it on your arms and chest. It won't stain your clothes...

Not a bronzer, but a body shimmer/glitter

This is like Nars Illuminator and other similar products. This is not a bronzer at all. It barely gives your body any color, and really just adds a very light shimmery tint. I have light skin tone and the gold flecks in the shimmer are what I saw. Pretty if you want your body's skin to shimmer, but not something for daytime/work.
