BE Matte Foundation- 11.07.09
Quick Take: non-drying, natural finish
First off,let me start by saying I have tried just about every,and i do many every,mineral make up out there and have been wearing minerals for over 5 years now,so that is a lot of testing! I wanted to love the BE matte foundation since I did not care for the "tin man" look of the original formula, not to mention the Bismuth in the original product. I have to say I do like the new matte formula MUCH better then the original,however,not enough to ever purchase again. It does not have enough coverage and it does not stay matte all day. I have oily skin and within 2 hours I am shining again,The only MMU I have ever LOVED for all the right reasons is by Kat of RAESIN IMAGES. Not only does she offer several types of formulas and a wide variety of colors, her foundations stay true to color and the coverage is awesome! Plus she even does custom colors! Take it from me, national brands are not always the best brands and IMHO Raesin Images is the BEST!

The BE matte is fair better than the original (in my opinion:) I have slightly oily skin, and throughout the day I only get oilier, this product keeps my shine down dramatically! If you tried the original BE and didn't like it do to the shimmer, then definitely give the matte a try. Or if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to smashbox's halo.

I think it's love...- 11.06.09
Quick Take: non-drying, buildable coverage, natural finish, oil-absorbing, mattifying, very easy to apply, blendable, non-comedogenic
I have been waiting for this to come into stores for too long! I hated how shimmery the original foundation was, it left me looking literally like a disco ball face after 3 or 4 hours, as I've got really oily skin. However I love loose mineral powder foundation as its so easy to apply and, when it's not shimmery, looks so natural on skin, and is really easy to blend. The Matte version stays true to its name and really is matte, as well it controls shine/oil suprisingly well. (However, I havn't tried this without a primer- I use Philosophy Never Let Them See You Shine primer, so that may also be a factor....) With this version, I only need to blot a little at the end of the day and my face pretty much stays looking great. It's natural looking, not heavy or cakey, and the color suits my skin tone very well. The only thing is you do need to use a little more foundation than with the original, and because of that I think they should give you a little more foundation for your money. =P But, the upside is, if you do use more for more coverage on certain parts of your face, you aren't left with a shimmery pearlescent patch like with the original!

I BROKE OUT REALLY BAD AFTER 1 WEEK OF USING IT, BUT BEFORE THAT IT HAD GREAT COVERAGE AND LOOKED NATURAL.

im sad, I really wanted to love matte but its totally not for me!! It was blotchy on me, caked up, was darker than my orignial BE foundation!! Im just sticking to the original.

Great change from the original foundation- 11.06.09
Quick Take: buildable coverage, natural finish
I've been a fan of the original foundation and as much as I like the "glow" that it gave off, I like that there is now an alternative. I specifically like using Matte if I want to have more fun playing with the Radiance colors. They seem to reflect light even better when it's not competing with the luminosity of the original foundation. Thanks again BE for making me a BEliever!

Not too impressed- 11.06.09
I previously used the original BM foundation for years before switching to Laura Mercier foundations. The original BM didn't absorn oil well but I loved the way it looked. I decided to try out the Matte formula hoping it would give me the same coverage and radiant look the original did... that didn't happen. I found myself having to use twice as much of the powder to get the same coverage and my skin didn't have the glow it used to with the original formula. It did, however, absorb oil better. Not too impressed with the new formula.

Iv'e used bareMinerals for many years now and will never switch to any other foundation. But now I love it even more with the new matte formula. My skin tends to get a little shiny towards the end of the day and the new matte formula helps with that. Plus, I like the new design of the container.

I like Bare Escentuals a lot and I'm even more pleased with the newest line of matte foundation. It works just as good, if not better, then their original line and what I really love is the design of the inside cap. I can easily tap some powder into the cap to use with my brush. With the original line, I had trouble getting powder out and I would always end up with tons on my bathroom sink. The type of brush you use makes a big difference though so if you're not using the recommended one, you may not get the same coverage.

New Bare Essentials Foundation- 11.06.09
Not so good. I LOVE this entire line...use it ALL! This foundation is not true to color...and does not give the flawless finish like the regular foundation. I have oilier shin in my t-zone and thought this would be the perfect product. VERY disappointed...

I normally have insanely oily skin, but since the bareMinerals Matte Foundation my skin looks healthy and shine-free! I used to blot my skin at least 5 to 6 times during the day, but now I am a blotter no more. I combine this product with the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer for mineral makeup and go an entire day without needing to re-touch my makeup.

i was dissapointed inthis product as i understand it is made foroily skin and the fact thatyou would not have to wear mineral veil on top of it. i find that i still have to wear mineral veil so it is no different than their regular foundation

Love the coverage of the new Matte minerals. I do need to exchange the for a different shade. It was not equal to the original.... so test before you leave the store. Love the new lid!
