I've tried every primer on the market from high end to drugstore to the obscure. All of the silicone based primers broke me out terribly (it didn't matter which brand it was). The reason that people look so flawless with silicone primers is because it fills in cracks and lines like putty. So much so that it literally suffocates the skin clogging pores and not allowing your skin to breathe, which is why so many break out. My problem is not that I need to fill in wrinkles and hide lines, but to find something that can actually keep my make up from sliding off my face. If it helps to make my foundation go on smoother that's certainly a plus.
I've tried every silicone free primer on the market and each and every one of them was nothing more than a glorified moisturizer. For women like me who are already extremely oily, we don't want to start off our day with that greasy feeling that moisturizers impart. We already know we will make plenty of our own moisture in a very short time with no help needed. I definitely don't want my skin feeling the way it does at the end of the day by adding a moisturizer or a slippery primer in the morning. I like my skin to feel clean, dry and matte before applying my foundation.
Finally a primer that is free and clear of pore clogging silicone that goes on completely matte! You don't get very much for the price and the packaging could be a little more practical, however this is a wonderful primer (it comes in a gadgety type tube that will make it hard to get every last bit out like a normal tube would allow). Its a very clean looking, completely unscented, fresh feeling white cream that immediately sinks in and feels totally and completely matte and dry. No slip and no grease. Best of all it really does help my foundation to look a bit smoother, but more importantly, this primer stood up to some hot and humid days and didn't budge! Normally my Estee Lauder Maximum Coverage foundation begins to get a bit oily within a couple of hours. I was stunned to see myself in the mirror 4 hours later and barely needed to blot or even do a touch up! It makes your foundation really cling to your skin and keeps it from melting off making it worth its weight in gold! Finally something that will keep my face from turning into an oil slick that actually feels good on my skin and doesn't break me out! This is definitely a one of a kind primer here! Serious find for me!

Matt is where it's at!- 09.05.09
Quick Take: lightweight, matte
I am a true child of the 80's and as such I love a matte face. The dewy look of a few years back drove me insane. This product does help you achieve the matte look you want. The only drawback I saw was that it didn't last the day. I have very oily skin and am always blotting and touching up. This primer was great for the first few hours of wear but after that, it was just like any other primer I've tried. I have tried all kinds of primer (BE, Smashbox, Philiosophy, Too Face, Dr. Brandt, etc.) and this one is about as good as most of them. It went on fine, no flaking or stickiness. Because Sephora was out, I went to their UK site and ordered it. All in all, it is good but not phenomenal.

BEST primer- 07.26.09
Quick Take: long lasting, easy to apply, gorgeous, beautiful finish, non drying, worth for the price
I live in the UK. so for me Illamasqua is a well known brand. Lately i just realized that it repllaced almost every brand in my collection. Soo high quality, it will make you addicted-for sure. the effect of the matt primer is exactly what it claims in the description. In the winter i had the satin one, but i think i love this more as i love matt flawless face..all day.. and it just lasts and lasts.. perfect under the rich liquid foundation that is the HG for me btw. the texture is creamy, a;most runny, but it is easy to work with. the sweet scent and the spf is just bonus.. since i use this gem, i had no problems, no flaky bits during the day.. fortunately not makes me break outs, and not full of with silicone.. magical stuff... the satin one gave to me the perfect dewy finish.. must have for everybody!!!
