this realy helped my back and facial problem. the reason it gets 4 out of 5 was because the excess hair gets easily clogged. i usaed it for 5 minutes and it was alreadyt clogged!! maybe its just the thickness of my locks... EMBARRASSING but no more. now people dont call me an ape

Working extremely well, thick hair almost gone!- 11.03.09
Quick Take: effective, great value, almost painless
OK, so I've now had this device since 8/31. I have used it four times on my legs. This fourth time is just maintenance and going over any missed spots. It has literally removed almost ALL of my leg hairs. It took a few months to see the full effect (your hair grows and then will just start falling out) - at times, I could pinch a hair between my nails and it would slide out. Weird.
Anyway, I started on other areas and am still waiting for those results. My underarms have taken longer but I am finally starting to see results. I guess my hair just takes that long to fully grow/fall out.
The middle intensity setting has been the one that has worked best for me. I have fair skin and dark thick hair.

Very pleased with the results- 10.26.09
Quick Take: laser hair removal device
I had tried the products and was very pleased with the results. Many of us struggle with unwanted hair and it is a hard battle to win using razors and waxes. The results from using Silk’n are very noticeable one would feel the difference right away. There is no pain involved and it is something that will stay for long time if not permanently. The instructions for using Silk’n are very easy to follow and I did not have any trouble with it, it is more convenient than the laser hair removals at the doctors because the cost is way more acceptable and second one does not need to struggle with appointments and we can do it on our own free time. I do recommend to all of you reading this post to give this product a try I promise you would be satisfied with the results.

I bought Silkn a few months ago and I love it! I've tried laser hair removal before but it's so painful and expensive. Silkn did the same thing with much less pain and for much less money. Two thumbs up :)

Wanted to love it- 10.19.09
Quick Take: cool but ineffective
I was so excited to see this product. I used it a few times, and had absolutely NO hair removal. I am a "perfect candidate" for the laser-pale skin, dark hair, but this didn't work at all for me. I finally figured out how to get it to level 5 and thought that would be the answer, but no such luck. I have to say, I love the idea of this and the unit itself is neat and super easy to use. I'll keep an eye out in the future-hopefully there will be something like it that works for me.

Just like IPL- 10.17.09
I have had IPL done at my local dr.'s office, and this device is VERY similar to the device they use at their office. I don't think it is quite as strong, but I has the same effect and feels the same. I just started using this, so the results are yet to be seen, but I have serious high hopes!!!

When you buy the machine it's almost impossible to get more cartridges. Which you have to have to use the machine. It does work. I'm still waiting for them to have some in stock

It DOES work, no cartridges available- 10.07.09

I have used this 3 times. My growth is very slow some patches down grow back in, i'm sure i'll have good results. PROBLEM is Sephora is always sold out of the cartridges, I cannot use the machine right now. The hair is growing back and I am losing progress. I HAD good results. If you buy the machine, you might not be able to get new cartridges. not a good situation can't use the silkn sensepil without them. IF I GET A CARTRIDGE ill be happy to put pictures up, after a couple more treatments. before/after

Highly recommended- 10.01.09
I strongly recommend this device. I have fair skin and thick, dark hair, so I'm an ideal user (it won't work on dark skin or light hair). I've tried nearly every form of epilation apart from professional laser, and decided to try this before I shelled out all of my savings on pro laser treatments. I'm glad I did. My underarms, which have had a sort of perma-stubble since puberty, even after shaving, are beautiful after just two treatments, and I'm noticing significant hair reduction on my legs and arms. I've been using this in my bikini area as well, and I've noticed a reduction there as well. So I'm very pleased. And relative to waxing or epilation, it's painless.

I'm using this device, I don't know if my hairs are totally clear in the future or not but after a month using the machine I think I need to be patient to use the device and financially stable in order to refill those lamb carriages. Plus, many unexpected things...I only do the hairs when I have nothing to do :)

Quick Take: a great alternative
I had done a couple of treatments in office and as I already had a dramatic reduction in the hair growth, I decided it was worth taking the risk of a potentially less-effective method. I like the Silk'n a lot.
I have been using every other week on bikini and under arm and I only have but a couple of hairs to zap every time. I have the impression that more hair would come out if I waited long enough, but I find it less painful to do it more often with less hair.
Yes it hurts, but I had done the most modern/painless treatment at the doctor's office and it hurt just as much.
The pain is tolerable but don't be fooled - it hurts way more than waxing.
Totally worth nonetheless.

Love this device! Its great... haven't exactly been following the rules, using it almost every week and seeing a big reduction in hair just a month or so in. There's a way to trick the system so you can be lvl 5 right off the bat; just hold on to both the - and + buttons until it beeps. Soooo worth the money!

NO MORE LASER APPOINTMENTS- 09.09.09
I purchased the silk'n SensEpil after paying several hundred dollars to a laser clinic only to have the clinic close. When another clinic opened I was hesitant to go back so decided to buy the SensEpil instead. It is so much more convenient, no appointment, no driving across town through traffic. And the cost savings alone is worth it. So far I have done 2 treatments on my arms and 3 on my legs. My arms seem to respond better to it than my legs, but I definitenly notice less hair growth and I feel like I get better results than I did at the clinic with a lot less cost and driving time. I still have a lot of facial hair after several treatments at the clinic and paid a lot more than the cost of this product. It was so easy the first time I used it and I will never go back to another laser clinic again.

Ive used this 3x so far spaced out 2 weeks each. I finally got to the 3rd setting and it blew out! It made this huge crackling sound like when a lightbulb burns out. scared me! I havent seena difference at all. I thought maybe i was usuing too low of a setting but it wouldnt let me shoot it up higher and when it did it blew! Im going to try and order a replacement bulb and try again. my hair is thick so maybe that why? but isnt that the point for people who have bad stubble like hrs after they shave? no change on legs bikini or underarms. im dissapointed.

Very cool little machine- 09.06.09
I've used it once so far on the lowest setting, and saw immediate hair growth reduction. Granted, it wasn't a ton...but it was just my first shot. I have light skin and dark thick hairs. There's barely anything growing back on my shin and knees (not sure why those spots took so well) and around my ankles. I get little hairs on the top of my foot, and decided to try one side but not the other. The side that got zapped hasn't grown back so far. I did hit a freckle and felt pain so be careful with dark pigment. Otherwise, it's just really bright light and no pain (for me).
I'll try a higher intensity next time.

Quick Take: a great investment
