Fine brow pencil

Quick Take: long lasting
I got this brow pencil because the actual tip is super fine in size that I can feather in hair lines in my brows. I have brown/black hair. I got the rich brown and it appeared to me as if it was an ashy brown. It wasn't RICH DEEP BROWN like in the picture or description. I kept it because I can sort of out line with it and in all honesty...I use the comb the most. I didn't think combs made a difference, but this particular comb works great-super thin and precise combing. :)

Quick Take: natural
This is really my favorite eyebrow pencil, especially the color (taupe) for a highlighted blonde as myself . The first pencil was fine. However, the last two I've ordered have driven me crazy. As others said, they break without the least bit of pressure. Even if you roll it out just a little bit and apply gently, the end will break off. I so wish Tarte could reformulate it to not break.

So disappointed in new formulation

I have loved loved this product in the past - I order two at a time. The last ones were a new formula Amazonian Clay. It is, bluntly, awful. So cakey that the pencil breaks with even the slightest pressure or the smallest tip extended. Little bits of pencil everywhere. I strongly encourage Tarte to do better product testing and return to the original formula for what was a great product.

This is the only Tarte product I have not loved. It was not smooth like the other liners. In fact, I returned it for a refund. I've not returned anything to Sephora before. I felt that strongly that this was a poor product.

I have really dark hair and always found that eyebrow pencils were too light, but Tarte offers colors for us girls who have dark eyebrows! I had never used another pencil until the lady who did my eyebrows went a little pluck crazy, so I was happy with the long lasting result from the pencil. Looks natural. I did not have any breakage problem that other reviewers had mentioned.

Pencil was very dry, so using a lite touch to make your eyebrows look natural, was out of the question! I hope I just received an old pencil that had dried out! Next time I'm at a Sephora store, I will give it back to them.

I have tried two other eyebrow pencils that are far better than this one, and those would be the Diorshow Brow Styler in Universal Brown and a runner-up would be Sephora's Waterproof Rectractable Brow Pencil in Rich Chestnut. This Tarte pencil's Medium Brown color goes on much darker than you would expect (I have dark brown hair/brows and it went on too dark and looked obnoxious; it made my brows looked too "penciled in") and had a tendency to tug on my eyebrow hairs. Even with small, dainty strokes the waxy pencil was too sticky and pulled on my hairs.
I just didn't feel like I had as much control over this product as with the Dior or Sephora pencils which are very easy to maneuver, as they are not sticky and do not tug and can go on lightly so that you don't end up with penciled-in looking eyebrows.
Additionally, $19.50 is an outrageous price for 0.001 oz worth of product. Seriously! Try other options; that's highway robbery. I returned mine for a refund after giving it a fair chance a few times.

I have dark brown/near-black hair (the color most common for east Asians), and the medium brown matches very well.
The pencil is super thin, and goes on very smooth.
Twist to sharpen, the brush is very useful.
This is my 3rd or 4th time purchasing this pencil... I have never found an eyebrow pencil that has all the benefits of this one.
The only negative (for me) is that the clear plastic cap over the brush tends to fall off/get lost

I was very disappointed in this product. It breaks every time to put it to the skin. Even only rolling it up a very tiny bit it still breaks. Applying just one time I used up almost half the pencil. I love all the other Tarte products I have tried.

It's so natural looking you don't need a lot a little goes a long way. The brush at the end really helps spread and evenly
Distribute the color. Seriously I have half my eyebrows, they thin out toward the ends, and you would never tell! This product is soooo natural looking its by far the best I've ever tried and trust me I've tried so many!
