Quick Take: lengthening
It doesn't advertise as waterproof, but it stays better then waterproof. It stays on all day and evening without flaking, but the wand could use some revising. The best wand out there is Buxom and Bare Minerals. So I use those wands to spread my lashes better and for more length.

Quick Take: quick dry, hard to come off
I had been searching for a quick drying formula, NARS Larger than life is definitely a product I regret buying. I have not used it since I bought it. It is really hard for it to come off, every time I wear it I lose eyelashes. The brush is really thick it doesn't comb through my eyelashes, and it dries so quickly I cant tell if there is enough product on my lashes.

Quick Take: defining
I love this mascara because it stays in place / doesn't flake. My only disappointment is that the brush doesn't reach my innermost lashes, and it's a bit difficult to reach them even with a "double application" (outer then inner)

Fantastic - but waterproof

I love this mascara, it's my current favourite. My only criticism is that it is actually waterproof (and a pain to remove), even though it's not indicated as such on the packaging. I don't think there's a washable version - too bad. Still, looks awesome on.

For some reason, this mascara is not labeled as "waterproof" or "water-resistant," yet it fails to come off even with loads of eye makeup remover. When I tried to remove this mascara, many of my eyelashes came off and no matter how many times i cleansed the eye area, there was still a thick, tar-like layer on my lashes. Yuck! It's harder to remove than actual "waterproof" labeled mascaras I've used. Even more, it takes three coats to get the slightest bit of volume and makes the lashes spidery rather than fluffy, yet it's called "volumizing." Love NARS, but not this product. Don't buy!

This mascara gives a great look to your eyelashes but is literally impossible to get off. I spent a solid 20 minutes with makeup removing face wash, eye makeup remover, waterproof eye makeup remover, makeup removing cloths and there is still a film on my lashes. I don't think it's worth the money or hassle.

Quick Take: volumizing, irritating, stays on forever
I loved this mascara for it's ULTRA ong wear and have been wearing it for years because of that. However, now it irritates my eyes SO BAD that I cannot wait to close them for relief every 5 minutes or so. I've tried eye drops, different eye creams etc.. (thinking that was the problem) but when I was reluctant to try another mascara I figured out that the problem was the Nars. I'm so sad that I cannot wear this any longer. :(

Quick Take: lengthening, not volumizing, re-review
I had reviewed this awhile ago, but after using it for quite some time, I really don't find it does anything for volume. It's a nice dark black color, it does hold curl, it does lengthen, but it doesn't do much in the volume dept. I actually think this made my lashes look skinnier than they actually are. If the volumizing one works well with length, I can't imagine how well the lengthening one much work!

My eyelashes are long and thin so I decided to go with this mascara. It did everything but volumize. I also had to apply a few coats but I still didn't really see a difference. My eyelashes lacked definition and just looked spidery. Not to mention it was hard to wash off. There are way better mascaras out there!

I received this mascara in a (Sephora) gift basket that my cousin had made for me as, well, a Christmas present.
I love a lot of NARS products, however, unfortunately I can't say the same for this mascara. It clumps terribly, flakes, and the only thing it does really is darken the lashes.
I wanted to love this product, I really did. I did receive the lengthening mascara as well, which is so much better.

This mascara is by far the best mascara I have ever used. It doesn't clump and separates on every lash, never flakes either. Although it's not indicated, it is a waterproof mascara. I had to buy waterproof mascara remover to get it off. I used Makeup For Ever's Senseyes and it did the trick. I will be buying this again but a tip to Nars would be to indicate that it is waterproof so people know what they are buying.

This mascara looks great, but be prepared to wear it for several days. I washed my face, showered and scrubbed it with eye makeup remover and still I couldn't get it off for days. I had to return it.

Quick Take: curling
My eyelashes are super, super stick straight (frustratingly so;, even after curling, mascara will instantly re-straighten them), and I have pretty oily lids, so even waterproof mascara somehow ends up running down my face within an hour. I used to swear by Shiseido's Lasting Lift mascara, until it got discontinued, after which I resorted to a three-step (very expensive) mascara regimen: prime (for curl), mascara, topcoat (for staying power).
Then, after embarking on a borderline obsessive search for a better way, I found this. It holds my curl better than Shiseido's mascara (which is a miracle in itself), and, like others have mentioned, it does not budge. This does pose a slight problem when trying to remove it in the evening, but it isn't impossible to do, and it is something I am willing to put up with.
In terms of adding volume, I was only marginally impressed. It can also be clumpy, and the enormous brush makes it very difficult to apply to lower lashes without getting it on the lower lid area. Still, though, this holds a curl like a dream and is absolutely smudgeproof, and I could not be happier.

Sephora consultant praised this mascara as being perfect to add volume. I was very, very disappointed, even with repeated applications! I will not purchase any NARS mascara again. I know there must be others available that can to the trick, so I'll just keep searching.

Quick Take: expensive - i change tubes every month, works wonderfully on skinny lashes, stays on until you remove it
An expensive mascara but once it's on, you don't have to do anything with it, period. I have been using this since it came out and it makes my sparse lashes into something amazing.
