I now understand what other reviewers were speaking of in regards to the soft bristles of this brush. It is very gentle, and would be perfect for someone with straighter, thinner hair than mine, or for those with a tender scalp. The bristles do not penetrate to my roots, so I use another brush to remove the curls in my hair before attempting to use this one.

Passes the test- 01.05.10
Quick Take: shine enhancing, untangles without pain, conditioning
I tested this brush against my plastic bristle Goody's brush for thick hair, my previous longtime fav. This brush does not pull against every little tangle, is very gentle and brushes easily through long, thick hair (I bought the large paddle and it really is large). I then used the Goody and it passed though--no problems! It does feel odd at first, like it's not brushing, however it really gets through so you don't get all the breakage and split ends from pulling. Overall, highly recommended and worth a try for this price

too small!- 12.20.09
this brush is the size of a baby brush. Way to small, uncomfortable to hold and I couldn't imagine it getting through my mid back length hair. I ordered it online and returned it the day after it came. There weren't any brushes in the store so I couldn't just get a bigger one.

So poorly made ---- bristles are so soft and of such poor quality - would not even pass as a brush for a baby!!! I doubt it is even real bamboo!!!!!!!!!!!

small rectangle is good for your everyday purse- 09.20.09
The small rectangle version of this brush is the perfect size for my larger "everyday" handbag - good to have at the office, et cetera. It's a good quality item and works well for dry styling my mid-length, mid-thickness hair. The bamboo handle is very smooth and actually kind of slippery when your hands aren't totally dry. Other than the handle, I think the brush is great.

Quick Take: not easy to hold bristles too soft
Not too pleased with this brush, the handle is too short and the brush itself does not go thru long hair very well. Sephora had a different style, the smaller version of the black Sephora boar brush. However, much to my dismay they no longer carry it.

I have fairly thick, curly hair and this brush just couldn't make it through it all. It kind of just brushed through the outer layer. The bristles weren't long or strong enough for me. This brush would be great, though, for someone with less hair. The bamboo part is really nice. It feels both substantial in your hand and light and easy to hold.

I originally purchased this brush to carry in my bag-just in case-and i found this to be the ideal brush for the end of the night, or right before hitting the shower. My hair is fine but long and layered, so I use a few products to hold the styles. It does not damage when going through my hair and makes it easier to enter the shower with untangled hair-which is always important.
