Not what I had been hoping for.
When reviewing a product, I make a point to use it in a variety of weather ( humdity, cold, rain..) and social conditions ( dates, dinner, work, lazy Saturdays..) over a period of several weeks and with several different lip preps and moisturizers.
*Application: It is less viscous than the original venom. More of a slightly gritty liquid. Does not feel luxurious.
When reviewing a product, I make a point to use it in a variety of weather ( humdity, cold, rain..) and social conditions ( dates, dinner, work, lazy Saturdays..) over a period of several weeks and with several different lip preps and moisturizers.
*Application: It is less viscous than the original venom. More of a slightly gritty liquid. Does not feel luxurious.
*Color: A deep, vampy red. Could be lovely. However, once shaken, the suspension still does not manage to create even color distribution.
*Shimmer: no noticeable shimmer
*Lip Plumping: Although the heat from the cinnamon oils can be felt, noticeable lip plumping is almost non-existent.
*Moisturization: After application, my lips actually dried a bit. I used balms on top of the color to help the chapping.
*Color retention: Don't count on it. In most cases, the color had completely worn off in just over an hour of normal activity ( talking, sipping water )..
Maybe fun on occasion, but better off sticking to alternatives.

It works like the normal venom but the stain does not spread evenly and the more you try to fix it the worse it gets. It was a great idea but still needs a lot of work.

Quick Take: drying, blotchy
I bought this despite the Twilight hype, because I wanted a good red lip stain. Unfortunately this product is horrible. The red tint is uneven, settles into lip creases, and looks like I just woke up after a long night of red wine. It is very drying, even with a layer of gloss over the top. It's just not worth it.

It is exactly as described; be sure to shake bottle before using then prepare for hint of red and the DuWop tingle. Doesn't last long, but feels good and maybe helps lips. More a treat than a need.

This is a great lip plumper that doesn't overly burn and has a pleasant cinnamon scent. It isn't red enough to wear alone for a full red lip, but does make a great base to deepen any red lipstick.

I hate "Twilight" however I love DuWop and I usually love lipstain.... for whatever reason.... this stuff just doesn't look right in the least. It's blotchy and a weird color with my skin. As someone else said it's like you ate a Popsicle... and it stained your lips. I can't recommend.

I've used this product since it was first introduced in conjunction with the 2nd "Twilight" movie in-store promos. It gets more intense in color the more you apply to it. Please be aware that it has a tingling sensation on your lips-nothing painful; only mildly so. I've been told that it does make my lips appear slightly bigger and the color can range from a light fuschia to almost "blood" red. I rather like this "kick" with this product. It doesn't come off on glasses, napkins, guys, etcetera when it dries(no waiting time-score!). I really like it!!

I was so looking forward to using the twilight venom. I was extremely dissapointed! It is Definitely NOT worth the price. The color is blotchy and uneven no matter how much you shake it and personally I didn't like the smell. Although it tingles a lot (if you have sensitive lips don't use it!!) there wasn't too much of an effect. I did notice slight plumping though, but definitely not as much as I was expecting from the reviews. Worst of all if you even put it on it's side for a minute it leaks!! It might've been just my bottle but almost 1/3 of it leaked out and considering how tiny the bottle is this was a great loss. Overall definitely not purchasing again and I would NOT rec buying it. Use your money on another nice lipstain.

I have to agree with the other reviewers: this stain does not live up to my high expectations. I really enjoyed the original DuWop Venom gloss so I thought about giving this one a try since I'm in the market for a nice red lip stain. First, not as thick as I expected, but I should have expected that since this is not a gloss (silly me). Even after shaking the bottle like a maniac, I still couldn't get the product to apply evenly onto the applicator (btw it's a foam applicator, not a lip brush as pictured). When I applied it to my lips, it was a blotchy mess. After rubbing it in with my fingers it looked more even, but the stain concentrated around the center of my mouth, leaving my lip line pale. It was not attractive. Definitely not worth the price.

I loved the original Lip Venom from DuWop that came in a regular squeezable lip gloss tube but this new version just did not work for me at all. The stain was very blotchy and I agree with other reviews, if you do not have very smooth lips - this just looks awful. I couldn't get the stain off and I was left with blotchy red spots on my lips. It also seemed really oily, ick! I wish they would go back to the original formula - much, much better.

I didn't have a hard time getting the stain mixing with the liquid as some of the other reviews have implied, but I do agree your lips must be smooth. The color does stick more to the dry bits making the color look uneven. It does layer nicely though allowing you to have some stain or build it up until it reaches a nice true red. The stain also lasted a very long time for me.

Like the original lip venom, this also plumps lips with natural ingredients, but this version is tinted red . It's a great color, just have to be sure to shake tube well to really blend or you get red chunks on your lips. The color darkens with each layer, wear under extreme lip injection for an awesome red sultry full lip

The demo in-store was not as red as the product I bought, recommended to me by the specialist. So I returned it and bought the clear version. The tingle is fun! It isn't too sticky either, just too red (for me).

I was excited to receive this product as a sample because of my experience with other DuWop products and I am so happy that I didn't waste my money on actually buying it. The brush is horrible and stiff. Who ever thought that little hard plastic bristles were a good tool for putting on the stain were wrong and probably a man. Even if I shake the tube till my arm falls off it still doesn't mix well enough to actually evenly put the color on. On top of that I have to apply so much of it to get an even stain it become pointless. This is a total fail. Don't waste your money. There are so many other stains that are a better use of your money.
