Laura Mercier Mineral Pressed Powder SPF 15

What it is: A creamy pressed powder that gives skin a naturally luminous finish. What it does: Enjoy smooth application with no build up on skin. This lightweight formula glides over skin for a soft-focus effect and a natural healthy glow. A unique blend of pure pearl powders and mica add luminosity, while minerals; vitamins A, C, and E; aloe vera; antioxidants; and other skin-nourishing ingredients help protect skin against environmental stressors. A smooth texture visibly diminishes the look of fine lines and wrinkles and stays color-true, leaving skin looking smooth, natural, and flawless in a sheer to medium coverage that is water-resistant. Each portable, travel-friendly compact contains a dual-sided sponge for mistake-proof touch-ups or buildable foundation coverage. What else you need to know: Pearl powders are rich in amino acids, calcium, and magnesium, which help smooth out the appearance of the skin, while rice lipids, jojoba esters, and amino acids promote a healthy appearance. This dermatologist-tested, non-comedogenic product is free of oil and fragrance and is perfect for all skin types, even sensitive ones.

Quick Take: sheer coverage
I apply with a makeup brush. The powder does not sink into your wrinkles. Your skin looks soft and smooth.

Great product

I love this powder! Nice full coverage foundation and a little goes a long way. I apply with a brush rather than the sponge applicator. Feels great and lightweight on skin. Added benefit of SPF 15!

Quick Take: reduces shine
I went back and fourth between many pressed powders. I finally ended up on this Laura Mercier powder bc it is good for sensitive skin, it was soft and recommended by many fellow makeup enthusiasts. I am so glad I chose this. I love it. I use it every day and it offers a great medium to full coverage. It's soft and doesn't feel like makeup is weighing my face down. Easy to apply and I'll definitely be a repeat buyer!

My new permanent go-to powder!
-04.29.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, sheer coverage, reduces shine, lightweight, non-cakey, natural matte finish, long lasting, great for sensitive skin
I tend to avoid mineral products since I've had terrible experiences with other mineral powders/foundations that I had bad skin reactions to, but this powder is great. I love that it doesn't cake onto the skin and doesn't feel heavy. This powder gives awesome coverage, I have acne scars and you can barely see them with this powder on. It's very natural-looking and I noticed I don't have to reapply very often throughout the day, probably once a day only. And this is coming from someone with VERY oily skin!

It was ok...
-04.24.13
Not super great but not horrible. I returned it because it seemed to build up and look cakey after 2 applications throughout the day. I am super oily, so it wasn't a good fit for me.

Love Laura M. But not this powder line.
-04.17.13
Quick Take: reduces shine, sheer coverage, short lived., not enough product to last more than a month
I had been using LM mineral powder foundation for a long time but I found that it was oxidizing (I have oily skin) after hours and hour and was too heavy for touchups. So I had switched to this pressed powder and here is my review:
PROS: natural, matte finish, buildable.
Compact packaging
CONS:
- this product is not worth the price because of the amount of product in the pan. I had used the entire thing up in TWO weeks. I would wear it once a day, everyday, and maybe touchups once or twice a day.
- does not last, you definitely need to have a concealer on underneath if you want this to stay. Point being, if it doesn't stick to oily skin, it will not stick to dry skin.
-completely wears off within two hours
-color changes with oil. And not just darker- it turned orange.
-also not enough shades for anyone with olive/yellow undertones.
I will not buy this again. I expected more from LM.

Too flat.
-04.10.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, reduces shine
While this is more convenient to use and carry around than the loose mineral powder, I prefer the loose one. The pressed powder is too matte and make my face look too flat, unless I mist it after application. The ingredients are different from the loose one, and I didn't like how my skin didn't look glowy. This provides decent coverage; it can be worn alone or over foundation.

I love this powder; it's the first I've ever been able to use for foundation! It covers well and makes my skin look great. I will definitely continue using it!

Great finishing powder!
-04.03.13
Quick Take: reduces shine, sheer coverage
This powder is great - it is matte without looking cakey or chalky. It is a little white if you apply with the sponge, but if you use a powder brush, it is fantastic!

Quick Take: sheer coverage
I wanted to love this. The tender rose shade is perfect for my fair skin; it applies and blends well. But it wears poorly on my oily skin, even over a mattifier. It oxidizes, I think, to look a bit cakey and obvious.

Worst Powder
-03.22.13
There was a Laura Mercier rep in the store the day I purchased this product, and in the store it looked ok. However when I applied it the next day it wore off very quickly and did not go on evenly Infact I am going to return this item. Worst make up I ever purchased.

Beyond terrible!
-03.21.13
If I could rate it less than a star, I would. It made me look like a geisha (even after being color matched) and felt really heavy on my skin. Make sure when you are trying it that you put it on your whole face to make sure you have the right color!

Quick Take: matte, convenient, easy to use, builable coverage
This goes on smooth and matte and gives me buildable coverage that I can use everyday or just add more for a night out. I love the way this makes my skin look and it is so convenient! Very happy

Decent
-02.25.13
I'm still on the fence about this product. It is really easy to put too much on and then it looks cakey. I do like how it lasts and I don't have time during the day for touch ups so this is a good product for that. I also really like that it has SPF. I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 because overall it is a good product but be careful to use the right brush to apply it and blend really well.

This is soft focus, matte, and has excellent coverage that lasts and looks natural. I apply it with the Sephora Mineral Powder Brush 45, being very careful to build gently -- it's easy to pick up too much. My personal favorite. Rarely need to touch up later in the day.

I love this powder, it goes on so smooth when you use a brush. I do not care very much for the sponge it came with I felt like it made the powder go on to thick, but with a brush it is perfect. It last all day when I use it.

Real Sand
-02.02.13
I am NW15 in the winter but in the summer I get up to N23 (I become less pink and more neutral when I tan). Usually I need many different shades throughout the year. I've gotten this powder in shade "Real Sand" around late spring when I was around N20. Surprisingly this shade kind of works for me regardless whether I am pale or tanned... so strange. Regarding the powder: it has a medium but buildable coverage and it looks much more natural than Bare Minerals. I recommend it.
