Philosophy-Divine Illumination

Quick Take: dimishes fine lines, preventative
Protective moisture block with a non-oily effect. Light & Soothing for my typically very dry, red cheeked skin. Color appears more even on my overall face. As well as makeup wears well over top of.

Good, But Not Worth The $$$
-04.05.10
Quick Take: dimishes fine lines
I received a 2 week sample of this product from a friend and I tried it at night. First, it's very thick & slightly greasy but it eventually sinks in. I used it for 2 weeks and really didn't as much difference as I have with the Miracle Worker cream. You get a glow from the shimmer in the cream and it did plump out a few tiny fine lines but I just can't justify paying this much for something that doesn't do what I thought it would. I would say if you are over 50 or have issues with dry skin & wrinkles this might be for you.

I'm in love

Quick Take: soothing
I didn;t think anything could EVER top Hope in a Jar, which I have used for over 15 years. But this is AMAZING. I have great skin (thank you philosophy) but at50+ it's started to get a little dull. As soon as I put this on I was right back to makeup optional skin!!

LOVE IT!
-04.17.10
Quick Take: tightening, hydrating
I just love this face cream. WISH WISH WISH IT HAD A SUNSCREEN iin it and that's the only reason am giving it 4 stars. I see how some say it's too thick, shiny, etc., but for my mature skin, it sinks in and I love the way it feels. It also feels firming.

Try it You'll Like It
-04.22.10
Quick Take: dimishes fine lines
The trick to this moisturizer is to rub it in and it won't be flakey as others have noted. It has brightened up my face as well as provided the moisture it needed. It's been about 2 weeks and I have noticed a big difference for the better.

Not woth the money
-04.22.10
Very thick and somewhat greasy. Don't like the sparkly effect. Did not make any significant difference. If you use too much it doesn't absorb properly and peels off.

I LOVE IT!
-05.01.10
Quick Take: dimishes fine lines, tightening, makes make-up optional
I was really surprised to see the negative reviews for this cream. I loved it. I have trouble with moisturizers making my eyes red and itchy, even if I don't get it anywhere near them, and this works great. I am 51 and got this as a sample and loved it. I only wear it during the day and use When Hope is Not Enough at bedtime. It does have a tightening feel, makes my skin look great, moisturizes and works well under makeup. I have not had any Philosophy product that the smell is unappealing to me! I feel sorry for anyone that has that problem, cause this is the BEST skincare line there is! Most people think I am 15 yrs younger. Thanks Philosophy and Sephora!

very good illuminating moisturizer but no SPF
-05.04.10
Quick Take: glowing and illuminative
Love this moisturizer. But wish it had SPF in it and was a bit more emollient. I have to wear a tinted moisterizer with sunscreen over it, or else no sunscreen protection. Crazy to have such a great product and no SPF. It does make my face look more polished and illuminated, esp after using their microdermabrasion peel. Don't get rub over your eyebrows, it looks odd to have shine in eyebrows. Moisturizes ok, wish it were more creamy, more emolient. Best thing about it is the slight glow and shimmer, it looks like a natural glow! Am on my 3rd refill.

I tried this product and I wanted to love this product. I saw no difference in my skin. Instead, the product pilled and caused a breakout.

Doesn't play well with others...
-05.09.10
Quick Take: ineffective, pills
The "illumination" comes in the form of tiny particles which are dispersed all over your clothes, cell phone, boyfriend, kids, etc., (not to mention sparkle doesn't look good on anyone except supermodels and tweens.)
The product itself does a decent job of moisturizing (hence the two stars), but it pills up and you can not wear any other product with it, so no serums, eye creams or foundation - including other Philosophy products.
I use and enjoy other Philosophy products and can't imagine how this one made it to market, it's a detriment to the brand. My suggestion would be a Bliss product instead, they're pricier but the quality and results are superior.

Quick Take: not sure yet but i like the way it goes on so far.
Not sure why all the negative comments about this cream. I actually really like it. First off, I want to say that I am a complete makeup/skincare junkie. I worked as a makeup artist for many years and I have personally purchases and tried A TON of products from neimans and walmart and everything in between, and I really like this. I think it smells great, smells like lavender to me. The "illuminating" effect is very suble and very pretty..not glittery, and if you dont use too much it wont rub off like some people are saying. (Thats only happens when you use too much I think). I have normal skin with some freckles and no lines and wrinkles and I love the way this makes my complexion look. Not so sure how I would feel if I had oily skin bc it may make your skin look too shiny but for normal skin this is wonderful.
I agree though with the ones who state that it needs an SPF..I wont be able to use this in the morning, unless Im not leaving the house, but I will probably use it if I am going out in the evening under my makeup..

Please try this cream!!!!!!
-05.23.10
Quick Take: tightens without "pulling", gives skin a real healthy glow
I have used the expensive La Mer skin products for years and I still do at night. This cream really gives your face a beautiful glow during the day without makeup and is gorgeous at night. I bought it with some other bathing products and waited a long time to try it. Now I am stocking up!

nothing special about this moisturizer. I felt that it did not moisturize so much and the "illumination" was minimal.

bad smell, not moisturizing
-07.01.10
As with almost all of the Philosophy line, the intense herbal-y smell is just too overpowering for me. As far as the hydrating goes, I think it is sub par at best. I woke up in the morning being tight and dry feeling. It has small glitter like particles in it, so if you are into glitter, then this cream is for you.

Nice for days without foundation
-08.07.10
This is a nice thick face cream. Avoid using too much...it will ball up on your face, especially your eyebrows, when you touch your face.
