excellent starter assortment for this product. i have everything in the world but resisted gel eyeliner (what's the point when I can use liquid?) until i saw the kitten smudge pot and just HAD to try it! I love the kitten as an all over. It's been my go-to color for years in the powder form, but the second I started wearing the smudge pot I started getting even more compliments! Extra good to layer the powder over the cream...anyway, the others I used for liners (so far) and I now understand what all the fuss is about. The formula stays put and has great pigment. It makes it so much easier to create a smokey eye AND a sexy cat eye. I have very fair skin, olive green eyes and blondish hair and I just could not get the blue to work for me. Gave it to my roommate who is pale but with dark hair and brown eyes and it looked gorgeous on her.

Tiny pots of fun!- 03.18.10
Quick Take: good value, portable, fun
This is my first venture into gel liners. I thought this set would be a good starter. And I have been lusting for it since Xmas. Kitten is good for a base, and the black it a true black. Starry night is a navy with gold shimmer in it. Violet is an ultra violet with matching shimmer particles. Texture is nice, I think I might try them as a shadow as well.....

This is the perfect set because I would not pay retail for all of these colors. Be aware that the jars are half of the size of a regular smudge pot, but they are still a generous size that will last you awhile. As others have said, the brush that comes with the kit is useless and of poor quality. Use a flat eye liner brush for upper lash line and a bent angle brush for the lower lash line. Be aware that if you have white bristles on your liner brush, these will stain the bristles. Violet wears more like a bright, blue-purple than a true purple, which is actually more flattering. The blue color is like a dark blue, but not navy and does have a gold shimmer running through it. I find this color slightly less vibrant than the violet and more wearable for the office. Kitten is great for lining the inner rim of the lower lid and opening up your eyes. Also can be used in the inner eye corner or as a highlighter. I also like doing a thicker line of one of the darker shades on my top lid and then running kitten over it because it created a very shimmery, lighter version of the dark colors. Liner wears without budging for 12+ hours. Love this product!

LOVE gel liners!!!- 03.15.10
These were actually my first set of gel liners & I am in love with the concept. Super easy to apply & with precision. The brush provided, just toss it.... I actually really like these tiny pots because gel liners are not going to last forever, so the smaller the pot, the more likely you're going to get what you paid for before they dry up...

Far exceeded my expectations. the colors are exactly as u see and they stay put oncce applied. layer nicely. the light pale color didnt work on me but maybe its cause my eyelids are oily. even for the other 3, the price is perfect. i have tried sooo many others in an attempt to get this highly pigmented look -from M.A.C. to Guerlain, and every brand in between. nothing comes close.dont even hesitate with this. fabulous product, must have. im so thankful i picked this up.

Great value. For some reason the black eyeliner is much smoother and goes on easier. The colored ones are a bit more dry and a little harder to apply. But overall they are a great deal.

I loved the colors in the set. The value is great. The problem I had was the gel wasn't easy to apply. I had a problem getting the gel to stick to my eyes. I even used Urban Decay's primer potion. I tried using a different brusht han the one provided and that didnt help. So I returned the product.

i have used so many different types of liners and stila smudge pot is the only one that works. It stays on for a really long time without smudging even a tiny bit. If you have hooded eyes, stila is the way to go.

The black smudge pot was the best. I did find that I had to be careful to be very precise because it dries very quickly, and I am not the most experienced with gel liners. I didn't think that it was that easy to smudge, again because it dries quickly. The next best was Kitten: I dab a very small amount in the inner corners of my eyes to highlight. Personally, I prefer the "Sun" eye shadow pan from Stila to "Kitten." As for "Violet" and "Starry Night," the colors look very different in the pot, but on my eyes, they look almost the same. I guess it's good if you're worried that they will be too scary-bright, which they are not.

My go-to eyeliner- 02.21.10
Quick Take: good value, portable, fade and smudgeproof, little goes a long way, pigmented
I have tried just about every eyeliner out there from drugstore to high end. This is by far the best of them all. Colours are highly pigmented and glide on smoothly. Unlike other eyeliners that claim to last and be smudgeproof and aren't (ie. urban decay 24/7 or MUFE Aqua Eyes) these dry quickly and won't smudge or fade as the day goes on. Also, containers last forever because you only need a little amount. Love, love, love them!!! P.S. Brush that comes with them sucks, so use your own eyeliner brush to apply.

I am so happy with the vibrant, easy to use, creative Smudge Pots!!! I think I'm a convert to gel liners, or at least Stilla gel liners. The blue and purple are just beautiful. Basic black is a must have. Kitten looks beautiful over dark shadow, or on it's own. So if you are curious as to why I gave it 4 stars, the answer would be the brush. The brush that comes with the kit is garbage. It's still a good value, but if you want anything that resembles a precise line, buy yourself a good liner brush when you pick up this kit. Don't know if this had been on the shelf too long but the individual pots were chalky and kindof dry. My large black smudge pot was not like this. But these are kindof sparkly so maybe the consistency is different.
