Great Collection!- 11.20.09

I liked the gold theme in this collection. I saw it online, but I had to check it out in the store first before I purchased it and I was impressed. The bronzing duo was extremely nice--I used it as blush with the lighter actual bronze color to soften the darker color. I LOVE the black smudge pot with the gold flake--it really flatters the eyes. The eye shadow is just beautiful as a highlighter. The lipgloss goes great over any of your lipsticks you want to use it over. For only $38 how can you go wrong?

Package is misleading, but smudgepot = worth price- 11.15.09
As noted by another reviewer, the package specifies that the lip glaze is the full size 0.08 oz size. However, it's actually one of the mini ones.
The lip glaze is okay (I'm not a huge fan of glosses), and I'm not big on bronzer, but the bronzer duo works well as a cream shadow.
While I also have trouble believing this is a $125 value, I have to say, it was worth the $38 price for the 24 kt smudge pot. The color is amazing, an inky black with subtle black undertones and shimmer/glitter. It makes an incredible smokey eye!

its good buy to try stila products- 11.13.09

The main reason I purchased this set was because I wanted to try the smudge pot and I thought that it was a great buy, since an idividual smudge pot is $20 on its own. First off, the smudge pot was really easy to use, it was creamy and perfect for both eyeliner or to use as eyeshadow color or even a base. This smudge pot lasts a long time and it does not budge. The glitter, I'm not really a big fan of but it adds shimmer to matte shadow colors. The Oasis eyeshadow is good, clean all over or highlight color. Its so neutral that I wear it as an all over shadow, when I'm feeling lazy. I use oasis as all over color then line my eyes with the smudge pot. Its nice and clean look. The smudge pot and the shadow has been my go to for the last couple of weeks now. I am loving it. The Bronzer duo is a cream bronzer and I am not really a fan of. Its an alright product but I prefer powder based bronzers as the cream feels a little oily/greasy on my face. The lip glaze, its nice and makes your lips look full but these do not last long at all. (I mean what gloss, does, really?) Overall, the set is not bad and this was a good purchase for me, since this is the first time I purchased and tried Stila products.
This is a great gift set as well, as the colors are so neutral that anybody can wear them.

Lovely Holiday Products - What value? Where????- 11.09.09
Quick Take: how could this possibly be a $125 value?
This holiday collection has very beautiful products included. The smudge pot with gold specks is pretty amazing! I was wearing it while preparing dinner last night in full cat eye - inner rim mode when my eyes started to water from chopping onions and shallots. I thought for sure I would have black streaks running down my cheeks. Strangely enough after asking my husband about my eyes and hearing they looked fantastic, I looked in the mirror for myself to find they were completely intact! No running or smudging at all!
There is one issue with this box collection and that is how on Earth is it a $125 value? I mean, it's a nice purchase for only $38 and I'm thankful for that, but really... $125? So, broken down the costs would be: Eyeshadow pan - $18.00 Smudge pot - $20 Convertible color -$25 normally - for a duo maybe $35? Lip glaze $11 (You can get three for $8.00) but this is a holiday color, so based on unit price about $11. But really - $3.00 is probably more like it.
That leaves us with the clutch equaling $41! It's made out of an odd synthetic material, lined with hot pink fabric. Is it lined with gold? Did I miss something here?
The box that came with the purchase lists the lip polish as being full sized, weighing .08 ounces. The lip glaze I got was only .03, which is technically a mini. The website says mini - but on the box I purchased it lists it as full sized and no where does it say it is a mini.
So either that is a gold-lined clutch or we have all been shorted on our lip glaze. At most this could really only be $95 - $100 value.
Yes, it is great, but let's not exaggerate, especially during these hard economic times.

love the smudgepot- 11.06.09
Quick Take: good value, black smudgepot w/ gold glitter is awesome, pretty lip polish, shimmery neutral eyeshadow, cute makeup bag
I bought this today because I saw the black smudgepot with gold glitter and I had to have it since it was exclusive to this kit. The black clutch it comes in is really cute and makes a great makeup bag and it has red satin lining on the inside. The Oasis eyeshadow is a very pretty neutral golden beige shade that is very shimmery. Although it doesn't come in a pan so you have to buy one separately. I love the color of the lip polish, it's a pretty bright baby pink color that looks great on its own or over other lip colors. The reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because I don't like convertible color duo. Both shades are too orange to flatter any skin tone. The left side is shimmery and the right side is matte. The only way I would consider using this is as a cream eyeshadow, but even then it's not great. I would have preferred one of their regular shades of the convertible colors. Overall, this set is a good value though. I would buy it just for the black smudgepot with gold glitter.

So Pretty!- 11.04.09
Quick Take: good value, shiny!
The Smudge Pot color is AMAZING! This was the main reason I purchased this set...however, the eye shadow is gorgeous and the lip gloss is classic Stila and lovely. I am still getting used to the Marigold convertible color because I am a newby to bronzers. The clutch is simple and cute. All around good stuff! Especially the Golden Noir Sumdge Pot!

a nice, coordinated kit.- 11.01.09
Quick Take: fun
Whenever i wear stila it makes me feel extra girly and pretty. their colors are so brightening and just give you a certain perky look. the marigold compact has a bronzer and a shimmering gold to layer over it. I love the gold. it looks good over other rosy blushes as well and can be used as a highlighter. Smudge pots are probably the easiest liners i've used. they get right into the base of the lashes no prob. golden noir is a great alternative to black or brown. the shadow is highly pigmented and really brightens eyes. the gloss is pink which i thought was off from with all the golden colors- but its pretty and adds a softness to the look. to take it up notch i like to wear their liquid luminizer for more highlight in keys places. glad i got this kit- it works great with warm skin tones.

I was so excited to see a new stila kit that had some products I have yet to try. I love the marigold color and the golden noir smudge pot. The lipgloss is pretty as is the new shade of shadow!
