Quick Take: good value, portable
Nars is wonderful. This pallette gives you loads of possible color combinations depending on your mood. I feel the price is good for this quality and quantity of shadow. I love the red script on the compact.

Quick Take: portable
I LOVE NARS eyeshadows, they are my indulgence. Highly pigmented and seem to blend well. However I usually buy natural products to put on my skin, NARS does contain parabens, which are synthetically made and I read bad things about them. I have to put that in the back of my mind when I use this because the packaging is great and it makes me feel glamorous! I gave 4 stars because of how expensive it is! I think I would still feel ripped off if I payed $30 for it!

Quick Take: not worth the money
I love most of NARS products but I can't say I was impressed with this one. The shimmer is not very noticable and the color does not stay on very long. It's definitely NOT worth the $75. Save your money for a cute outfit.

More Day than Night Looks- 11.08.09
Quick Take: good value, portable, long lasting colors
This is a great palette for day looks! Some people say it's too many light colors and not enough middle tones but I found both Sugarland (top center) and Fathom (top right) can be used as middle toned all-over-the-lid colors. The only two true highlight colors are Abyssinia and Cleo (the two in the left column). I have to say however, due to the majority of the shades being light, this palette is more useful for creating day looks. Night looks can be done as well, just not as much variety due to the fact that there are only two shades dark enough for smokey effects.
All colors: Abyssiinia (top left): light beige color in the case, once applied is a reflective pearlescent near-white with beige undertone. This works great as a highlighter for brow bone and the inner corner of the eye.
Cleo (bottom left): Also a high light color. A light aqua in the pan and a reflective white w/ aqua undertone once applied. The texture is the same as Abyssinia.
Sugarland (top center): A beige with lots of gold shimmers in the pan and applies the same except it looks even more shimmery on the skin. The shimmers are fine enough I did not find fall outs during application. I cannot overstate how shimmery it is, if you like shimmers, this is for you! :)
Underworld (bottom center): A pearlescent dark blue, slightly darker than the web picture (in fact, all the shades are slightly more pigmented than what is show on the website). When applied as a powder, it shows up a little lighter on the skin but still very pigmented, just not as dark as it looks in the pan. When applied as a liner with a wet brush, it becomes as dark as the color in the pan with a reflective pearlescence where the light hits on it. Overall, a beautiful color for eyeliner as well as a smokey eye.
Fathom (top right): a pale dusty rose that would have been matte if not for the micro-glitter in it. The glitter is small enough it does not look cheap but fall outs is a problem with this one. I only found a few on my cheeks but quite a lot gathered around the outer corners of my eyes. I found applying with fingertips instead of a brush helped to control the fall outs.
Night Breed (bottom right): Same texture as Fathom above. Matte black with micro-glitter in it. Fall outs also occur when used as a poweder. But when used as a liner with a wet brush, very little fall outs occurred. In fact the glitter looked quite pretty in a black eyeliner!
Overall, I like this palette a lot despite the fall outs! I would probably use it more for daytime looks: Abyssinia and Cleo as highlighters, Sugarland and Fathom as all-over-the-lid shades, Underworld and Night Breed as liners and mix/match for different looks!
For nighttime looks, I see 3 options, a blue smokey eye, a black smokey eye and a blue smokey eye with black in the darkest corners. Although the lighter colors can be changed around to pair up with these smokey looks for more variation.
About the packaging, it comes in a red box w/ NARS written in red foil on top. The palette itself also has red lettered NARS on the top lid.

I love this set., the pigmentation on these are great the formula is long lasting. If your a Nars lover like myself you must get this. The colors are also very wearable =)

Quick Take: great value
The name of this palette is an apt one. The top row has a splash of sheer shades that would be perfect during the day or as highlight colors. Be careful though because depending on your skin color these colors could blend in with your skin and not show up. The bottom row on the other hand is a good mix of blues and black that would make an excellent starry night smokey eye.
I personally enjoy palettes more than anything else in NARS line so this purchase was a no brainier for me. If you don't have these colors, this is a very cost effective way to sample NARS eyeshadows. If you're unsure, sample the colors in their single or duo pan form before buying.

GORGEOUS!- 10.23.09
Quick Take: great value, perfect for travel
What else can I say! If you like NARS, this is a MUST have. Some palettes for whatever reason have a different formulation but not in this case. The quality you get here is the same that you'll get in the singles! All colors are gorgeous and well cordinated. NARS has other palettes (not here at Sephora) but this one in my opinion has the best colors!
