Good and Bad- 03.20.10

I like and dislike this foundation. The applicator is actually very nice, and it applies the foundation well. I like that you can take the battery out, because I have a separate applicator due to the fact that the lightest shade is too dark for me, so I use my stark-white powder on top. You MUST conceal acne or scars beforehand. You also must moisturize beforehand, or it might come out strangely. It takes a while to apply it to the whole face, because you constantly have to go back to the jar and shake it to get more powder. This is my first-ever powder foundation, but I do think I will go back to liquids after I'm through with this one. At $48, it is quite expensive. My Sephora didn't carry it, so I went to a different one to buy it. I got it in Ivory 10, which is not listed on this website. It gives a nice, satiny finish with a bit of glow. The applicator doesn't have to be used only with this specific foundation; it works well with powders of other brand too. The packaging is very cute; there's a little rose etching on the top. Over all, an average product.

I love this product! IT goes on really easy, the coverage is great, it really gives my skin a great glow to it. The best part is there is NO MESS and my counter in the bathroom stays clean no more powder everywhere! I have been using bare minerals for the last 3 years and this product is better!
The best thing about this foundation is the super natural finish, which is quite important if you ask me. It covers well but without making my face look cakey or heavily covered up. Gives a natural radiance as well. For a powered foundation, it is not drying either, as long as you have a decent skincare remedy after face wash (ie. at least lotion+moisturizer).
The only downside to this is the applicator. I don't see how the vibration helps, maybe it does maybe it doesn't. But it certainly is not very well-made and feels rough against skin. Also very hard to clean.
However, I use a power foundation brush instead and that really solves the problem, the power goes on perfectly and it's easier to control how much goes onto the face, therefore building the coverage gradually.
Great foundation overall! Make my skin look so naturally beautiful.

oscillation disappointment- 03.13.10
I've tried other brand's mineral makeup and decided to give this one a try. Oscillation and it's claim of polishing effect sounded really intriguing. Even in the store I realize that it works only if skin is really well hydrated. But after few trials at home I actually decided to remove it after applications because my skin looked too dull and older than I really am. Although I'm a fanatic of moisturizers and use plenty on my skin, this powder seemed to dry my skin instead of making it look smooth. I won't buy it again and if I were to choose mineral makeup would go with other brands. Plus price is steeper than others.

What a disappointment!- 03.05.10

The powder product is great, with a natural finish, but the Oscillation concept made me disappointed because I always have great expectations about Lancome products. The application is silly and actually I applied the product with a good powder brush - works better. So, I think that the oscillating applicator has been a waste - the vibrating does nothing. I bought this because I know mineral makeup is much better for our skin. The shade matched me perfectly and coverage was great when I tried it on in the store. My advice: apply with a good sponge - with much better results. I'm convinced that Lancome should rethink their applicator system because they have a great product with a flaw.

good coverage, very easy to apply, long-lasting over-all good product. still trying to decide if it's worth the price.
I must have tried 50 different foundations before discovering this product. Powders and mineral foundations clog my pores (including Bare Minerals and Bare Escentials), liquids don't stay in place and get blotchy after a few hours. Anything with plumpers or de-agers upsets my skin and I can even get welts from too many ingredients. I have mostly dry skin with an oily t-zone which further complicates foundation choices because I need oil free for the t-zone but moisturizing for the rest of my face. This product not only goes on beautifully and easily (I disagree with some reviewers about the difficulty of the applicator, it is SIMPLE to use), it provides a beautiful, soft, luxurious coverage that makes my complexion appear youthful, soft and flawless. For those of you who don't like the applicator for use around contours such as the nose, simply follow Michelle Phan's advice from the Lancome website and use small triangular sponges to help blend the powder into those areas. Best of all, it actually seems to help my skin. This product is not a gimmick, this is truly a step forward in foundation technology and I won't use anything else. Thank you Lancome.

I have mixed feelings about this product. The formula of the foundation itself is nice. It starts out sheer but is easily buildable and natural looking if used with a powder foundation brush. The applicator is what leaves a bit to be desired. The sponge works well on areas like the forehead but is practically impossible to maneuver around the contours of the nose due to it's size and the fact that it's quite stiff.

did not like this product. i dont enjoy the application process. i dont like the spongy thingey. but it looks great on the skin. GREAT coverage, beautiful, non-drying, super natural feeling. TOO expensive for what it is. dior is better.

I wanted to update my normal double powder I wear ( I don't use a traditional base) and decided to try this mineral powder. In love. I love it all in fact: the vibrating brush, the luminary powder ( but not too much) and the light but miracle looking coating it provides! Highly recommend. But I also use the "present" by philosophy as my primer.
