wonderful!
-02.18.13
This product is great. I have very sensitive, dry skin and I haven't taken very good care of it. I got a sample of this from Sephora and it has lasted me weeks (I do it twice a week). It makes my skin super soft; I could feel a difference after one use. I use it with her "Nourish Daily Moisturizer" as well and it works wonders. Worth the money.

Another hit from KS
-12.02.12
This is another great product from Kate. I use it 2x a week, following the clinic to go peel. It leaves me skin fresh, hydrated and so incredibly soft. The cucumber scent is amazing as well. Really feels like a luxurious spa treatment at home.

Quick Take: soothing
I had an adverse reaction to another line's product, and my face was red, irritated. I was given a sample of this product to help my skin recover more quickly, and it surely did. I'm not sure about how it compares to other masks, but it certainly addressed the concern I had. Will likely purchase this sometime in the future.

Great for Soothing
-04.10.12
I agree that this product is overpriced for what it promises. It is not very moisterizing. However my dermatologist had given me some RX that severely irritated my skin. I applied this on after and instantly it will refresh and sooth my skin. The redness and irritation went away quickly. The consistency of the mask is not favorable. It's slimy and feel similar to putting aloe all over your face.

good not great but expensive
-01.12.12
Quick Take: skin-soothing, refreshing
I have a combination skin which is fairly dry during the winter months. I tried a couple of products to keep my skin moisturized. But I was not satisfied completely with any of them. So I consulted an advisor at Sephora store. He advised me to try Kate Somerville Quench Hydrating mask. I have also been using Kate's Exfolikate and I love it. So I gave it a try. I have used it three times so far and I am quiet happy with this product. It leaves my skin hydrated and smooth. It is expensive.

Not Kate's best and not worth the price
-10.06.11
Quick Take: skin-soothing
I love Kate's products, but like many other reviewers, I found this disappointing. It is not very hydrating and to me feels more like a toner once I have rinsed it off. I have dry skin and was expecting a supercharged quench. The quench serum is great, but this does not compare. I find this to be more of a soothing masque than moisturizing. I now use it after I get threading.

not moisturizing
-01.02.11
I bought this in store after telling the salesperson that my skin is dry and sensitive and that I needed a good moisturizing mask for winter. I've given it a few tries and my skin always feels tight and dry afterwards. Gently exfoliated prior to using, too, and it's the same or more dry/flaky after the mask. Maybe it will work better in the summer. Not what I was hoping for at all.

extremely overpriced, not effective
-12.22.10
Quick Take: refreshing, overpriced, no results
I love other Kate Sommerville products, but this one didn't make the cut. My skin gets a little dry in the winter and starts flaking around the edges of my nose and chin. I'm not one that needs intensive moisture, just a little something extra in the winter. I hate the feel of lotion on my skin so I was drawn to this because I sampled it on my hand in the store and it's a very clean feeling gel that smells like cucumber. It's a nice cooling sensation on the skin, unfortunately it does practically nothing. I left it on for a full 10 minutes and when I took it off my skin didn't feel any more moisterized. I get the same effect from applying aloe to my face. This product is very expensive, you don't get much (probably only 10 uses) in the bottle and it doesn't deliver any results. If my skin was extremely dry and I had really needed this product to work I would be extremely upset. I won't be buying it again and I recommend anyone considering it save their money and try something else.

irritating
-07.27.10
Quick Take: irritating
This mask was quite a disappointment! I purchased this mask to replace my Murad Hydrating Gel Mask. This mask was SO irritating to my skin both times I have used it- and I don't have easily irritated or overly sensitive skin. The first time I used this mask I applied it right after exfoliating, so I thought maybe that was the cause of the irritation. I have since used the mask a second time without exfoliating before and had the exact same result. The mask even stung slightly as it was on my face! I am not at all happy with this purchase and I would even bring it back if I hadn't already used it twice.
If you want to try this mask, I suggest stopping into Sephora and seeing if they will give you a sample to take home first so you can see how your skin reacts.
I gave the mask two stars instead of one because it has a very pleasant cucumber smell (though it is not very light, so if you are sensitive to scents, avoid this mask) and did hydrate my skin- though very slightly.

great for soothing!
-07.27.10
Quick Take: skin-soothing, refreshing
I now have a pretty normal skin type (after 3 years of using KORRES WILD ROSE line..amazing! But that's another review...) and I was not looking for super hydration...but i LOVE how this works when skin is irritated!
I used this sample after waxing, and it calmed my face instantly. After the full 10 minutes, there was NO reddness, no bumps, nothing! Usually after waxing the skin on your face can be irritated and stay red for up to a day....but not with this mask. I HIGHLY recommend it for any kind of irritation (waxing, sunburn, intense exfoliation)...

Just OK
-04.29.10
I too thought this mask would be much more hydrating than it was. My skin did look a little more plump but not too much softer. Also my faced turned red after using. I definitely could not use this right before heading out the door! This will be going back.

Good, not great
-02.18.10
I really thought this would be more hydrating than it is. It's basically very expensive aloe vera gel with some other ingredients thrown in. It's not a bad mask, but I expected more from Kate Somerville. Not worth the price for such a small amount.

Not Kate's best product.
-01.28.10
Quick Take: refreshing
I really like Kate Somerville products. I use her scrub, peel, and serums once a week and feel they make a real difference in how my skin looks. Quech Mask isn't living up to my expectations. It is a basic, cooling mask that really hasn't done anything for my skin. It is very over-priced for what you are getting. Save your money on this one and put it towards one of her scrubs or peels.

Won't Buy Again
-01.27.10
I love the Quench serum, but this is not something I'll buy again. I thought my face would feel as soft as a baby's behind, but it really didn't feel any softer or more hydrated. I'll just stick with the Quench....it's a much better product.

WONDERFUL!!!
-01.11.10
Quick Take: refreshing, skin-soothing
Kate again never disappoints with her latest product. I have extremely sensitive skin that breaks out easily from products and makeup. The Quench mask went on very smoothly after I had already exfoliated my face with ExfoliKate. The mask felt cool going on at first but then just felt very soothing after leaving it on for 8 minutes or so. Once I took it off with warm water, my skin was left very smooth, velvety, and hydrated- but not oily. I would highly recommend this product.
