Urban Decay Razor Sharp Ultra Definition Finishing Powder

What it is:A high-tech translucent powder that provides a stunning, soft-focus effect, even under bright and unforgiving light. What it does:Designed for the stars of film and flat screens, this high-tech finishing powder contains silky, microfine particles that fool the eyes with "optical blurring" and miraculously seem to airbrush away skin's imperfections. It provides a smooth, flawless, soft-focus finish that's flattering under even the harshest of lights. Use Razor Sharp as a finishing touch after foundation, or wear it alone to create a perfect "bare skin" look. However you apply it, you'll be addicted to the tiny refreshing water particles that float on skin's surface and "burst" when applied. What it is formulated WITHOUT:- Parabens- Sulfates- Synthetic FragrancesWhat else you need to know:The universal shade suits all skintones, so you're covered for summer and right into winter when your tan has faded. The no-mess component, with attached puff and handy on/off switch, is freeway- and subway-friendly so you can take it anywhere beauty calls.

Like Silk!
-05.17.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, reduces shine, sheer coverage
LOVE this powder!!! It feels like silk going on and its just enough to set my foundation without getting stuck in my pores and making me look powdered.

Great product, not so nice packaging
-05.15.13
Quick Take: sheer coverage, reduces shine
Love the powder. Goes on great and definitely helps reduce shine. I agree however with the other reviews that the packaging is horrible. I just took off the sponge and use with a brush. Hope they fix this!

Finally- Something that works!
-05.14.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, reduces shine
Not a lot of products help tame my oily skin. I was introduced by a makeup artist at a friend's wedding and, for the first time ever (no, seriously!), I wasn't a complete grease pit by the time of the ceremony. Obviously, the puff has to go, but using a brush works just fine.May be a tiny bit chalky but if that's the only way to avoid the grease-face look, I'm all for it.

Great Powder... VERY Poorly Designed Applicator
-04.09.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, horrible aplicator, long lasting, poorly designed, pore minimzer
THE GOOD:
Silky feel, really gives you a soft finishing look. Minimizes appearance of pores, stayed fresh looking for hours and helped with oil control, and I have an extremely oily T-zone. One of the best finishing powders I've used. Absolutely delivers on the soft focus effect.
THE BAD:
I bought this already knowing of the packaging issues I read about in the reviews. So just be warned that it is indeed true, you waste A LOT of product in this poorly designed container/applicator. But all I had to do is buy a powder sifting container and use a brush (which I shouldn't have to do Urban Decay!!)
Had to take off 2 stars for the awful packaging, but it is a 5 star powder.

Decent, but not for dry skin
-04.01.13
I usually love everything UD, but this powder wasn't for me. I used it with the UD Naked foundation. I get dry skin around my nose and cheeks during the winter, and this highlighted the flaky skin. I did like how soft it made my skin feel and it was translucent on the non-dry parts. If you have normal or oily skin, I think it would good, but if you have dry skin it doesn't work well. I also think it would be a problem if you had a pimple that had dry skin on top.

A Must Have
-03.12.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, sheer coverage, reduces shine, blurrs lines
Although I am not a fan of sponge applicators for this kind of finishing powder, if you remove the sponge and use a finishing brush it is an exceptional product. A must have for any makeup artist. Urban Decay should seriously consider repackaging this product into a sifter jar and maybe pair it for sale with a small finishing brush instead of the sponge. As a makeup artist myself with 40 years of experience I can honestly say that the product is top notch but they need to lose the sponge applicator. It detracts from the product and will lose them customers.

Best powder ever
-02.26.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, sheer coverage, reduces shine
I was going to buy a different product which was out of stock at the time. This product was suggested to me by a sales associate and the store manager and I will never use another setting powder again. I have never used Urban Decay before and I am in love with this product. If you are looking for a great finishing powder, I highly recommend this product. My make up stays intact and looks fresh all day long

Seems to work good
-02.20.13
I'm not a powder user but thought I would try this out - I use the poof on top to press the powder in and then knock the extra power off with Sephora's #40 powder brush.
I don't notice any caking and my makeup does look better throughout the day. I started using primer too so I'm not sure if this is making my makeup last longer.

Best for oil control
-02.09.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, sheer coverage, reduces shine
My favorite setting powder for my extremely oily skin. Does the best so far from all the setting powders I've tried in terms of oil control. The powder is very fine and does not disturb the texture of my make up. Many powders do because my skin is so oily. Very light weight and glides on smoothly. The "optical blurring" thing is true, I noticed in all my photos my skin looks different than other people. But sometimes I look like a light bulb. Will be re-purchasing.

Love this powder!
-02.02.13
Yes this does goes on slightly chalky but you just need to spread it around with a powder brush. The sponge on the powder does seem to get in the way but I find it easier to put that on than too open the powder and dab it with a brush to apply. I have oily skin and this is the best powder I've been able to find for my skin type.

Awful applicator
-01.16.13
I am either doing something wrong or this stuff is just terrible. I look like a flakey ghost after putting it on. I am debating returning it or ripping off the stupid sponge and try putting it on with a brush.. I've heard such good things and know it's probably the sponge causing this headache!

Great Product, Horrible Packaging
-01.06.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, sheer coverage, reduces shine
Terrible packaging. If you try to use it with the puff, it smears your makeup and the puff is eventually going to look gross from the buildup of makeup. Not very hygienic in my opinion, as you can't wash this as you could a brush. I ended up cutting the puff off and dumping the powder into a sifter jar I have and using a normal brush. The product inside is great- I have oily skin and this helps to keep my skin looking matte and keeps my other makeup in place. No chalkiness or whiteness seen on me, however I am very fair-skinned.

Finishing Powder
-01.04.13
Quick Take: reduces shine, sheer coverage
Really nice finishing powder. Totally translucent and nice fine powder. In my opinion they could just get rid of the pad on top of the jar. I use it but still need to use large brush to blend.

I am a huge fan of urban decay but not of this. Overpriced for what it is. I think drug store equivalent for a fraction of price does the same.

I think this is the best finishing powder I have ever tried. I actually got it for free when I bought another Urban Decay product and when I figured out how to use it and when I saw the finished product, I loved it! The sponge is actually kinda annoying but I learn to deal with it. I think that for people who says its gives them more of a chalky finish, well that's the look it's supposed to give off. If you want a glowing finish then I would not use this product. But for anyone who wants a perfectly matte finish, I would definitely suggest this product hands down!!!

I had high hopes, but it felt a bit like putting chalk on my face. It didn't work well for me, even when using a different brush. Since there are high reviews from others, though, it might have just been my response!
