great powder
-05.16.13
Quick Take: reduces shine, sheer coverage
This product was recommended to me by a beauty advisor at the store. I was a little reluctant because its all white in the case. This powder is terrific, it controls my shine all day. Would not be without it ever again.

Very Nice Setting Powder!
-05.14.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, sheer coverage
I usually do not like translucent powders, nor am I a big Laura Mercier fan... but this powder is pretty great! I have this in my professional kit and use it on just about everyone to set their foundation. It gives a super sheer, matte finish and looks very fresh. I wouldn't recommend it for deeper skin tones, but it works well for fair and light tones!

I have no idea what took me so long to find this pure awesomeness, but it is amazing! Goes on beautifully, and the best part - you don't look cakey or oily - just right!

The final step to a flawless face
-05.03.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, reduces shine, sheer coverage
Ok, this thing is my obsession and I continually buy it as soon as I run out. The only drawback is that it can fracture easily if dropped, so just be careful with it. Anyways, on to the review. I think a lot of people are lazy like me -- I just wish I could slap some sort of primer/foundation/concealor/powder thing all in one on my face and run out the door. Some things claim to be that, like BB creams, but let's face it, if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Stuff just can't multitask like that. You really have to carefully find each on of those products, see how they interact with each others, and then how they all interact with your skin (whew). I could tell you all my magic combo, but it wouldn't be for everyone so I'll focus on this product. It really does create this awesome matte, soft viel over your face that creates a soft-focus and just makes your skin look like porcelain (in a good way, not a fake way). It's great for touch ups, and toning down over-applied blush. Or, apply it after a colored pressed powder after foundation, and it makes blush and bronzer apply much nicer and smoother. Overall, a key product in my makeup routine.

not thrilled
-05.01.13
For the price, I expected to be shine free for at least half of the day, but no such luck. I was also pretty disappointed in the little sponge- I tried it once, and I felt like I was rubbing makeup off my face-- but I even tried "patting" it on and it didn't really work. I returned it.

This compact is a great addition to my routine. I use it as a setting powder for my Dior Liquid makeup. It helps control shine from my oily combination skin. It's also good on the dry spots on my face, not causing extra flakes or settling into pores.
The color was off putting at first but when applied with a large fluffy brush, blended in and became completely transparent.

Not worth the money
-04.10.13
The powder is fine but but it sits in the pores to make them more obvious. It does eliminates shine but it is not long lasting. For the amount of money, I expected more.

I've been using this for a few years now, and absolutely love it! I use it after applying a tinted moisturizer and before powder foundation, it sets the moisturizer and makes a nice base for the foundation. It's especially nice when you have a big painful zit, just dabbing it on throughout the day helps immensely! I would recommend this product to anyone with shiny, oily skin.

Love this powder. Gets rid of shine and absolutely translucent when rubbed in. Also like that it has zero scent.

Quick Take: oil-absorbing, reduces shine, sheer coverage, portable, long-lasting
I bought this a few months ago and loved it! It works instantly and I don't have to constantly apply it! I've had it for months and it last forever! Definitely a good buy and a beauty staple.

my secret weapon
-03.10.13
Quick Take: reduces shine, sheer coverage
I have oily skin, and halfway through my day I would get very shiny. No foundation could stop the inevitable shiny face. If I dust this on over my foundation (also Laura Mercier) I have a beautiful matte face all day. Makes my face look soooo much better than before. I wish I had known about this stuff years ago.

Ghost like
-02.23.13
Quick Take: useless
Asked the salesgirl for an oil absorbing powder that wouldnt turn color when it mixed with my oily skin. Guess i got what i asked for as this product goes on and stays white! Not understanding the point of this product as it is useless due to its white color, its ridiculous. Expensive powder to throw way in garbage

Although I only gave 2 stars, it's more because on the go, this would seem simple to use as a touch up but for me it wasn't. It came off too chalky looking on my face. If you use this with a brush though it works nicely.

One of my favorite setting powders. I have extremely oily skin that requires touch ups pretty often. The best part of this setting powder is that it glides on your skin without disturbing the surface of your make up and creates a very smooth even tone surface. Because I have oily skin a lot of setting powders end up messing with the texture of my make up a bit, this one does not at all. I'd say oil control wise, it does a good job but I do need to re touch up. However it's a great touch up powder to use throughout the day because it doesn't smudge make up. Very light weight and you won't feel it on your skin.

Does the trick ... but not sure if it's worth the money, since it's just translucent power. Love the size of the compact and love Laura Mercier.

Gets the red out!
-02.04.13
Quick Take: reduces shine, sheer coverage, covers red
I've used a lot of pressed powders to cover acne scars, sun damage and sun-induced rosacea. I like it because though it has a green-tint to counter-act the red, it blends in fairly well but doesn't make my face too white!
