Quick Take: improves shaving, skin-softening
If you have a man who is truely interested in a good clean shave that gives him a spa like softness you will have an afficionado. Vey quickly my daughters boyfriend has become addicted. My son and husband are not as diciple, and I found as the novelty wore off so did this routine. But it is a lovely gift for the man who knows better than to lather up with body wash--or wahtever is handy!

Quick Take: skin-softening
Sorry sorry sorry, this is the last re-up hopefully! my channel moved again but hopefully for the last time. in review though my dad has barely made a dent in this gift (i think he is treasuring it...) but the lavender scent is great, light, not feminine at all, and soothing. many have commented on the ocean kelp one so i think i will purchase that one for this christmas present 2012 :)

I got the trial kit of this exact same set (it is the same set but just in smaller sizes) for my fiance so that he could try it before we committed to the full size. Here are his impressions:
* He did not use the brush that much. Though he says that men looking for an old fashioned shave might enjoy this.
* His favorite item was actually the pre-shave oil. This product is a thick and somewhat sticky oil that you rub into your beard before shaving which softens the skin and makes shaving more pleasant. It also helps you avoid in grown hairs. The oil also has a pine smell to it, which he liked.
* He didn't really care for the shaving cream.
* And he could not finish the after shave balm. he is a guy that prefers the after shave colognes to this balm. he said he likes the astringent effect of the alcohol better.
So as a result, we decided not to purchase the full set.

Great gift for dads!

I apologize this is a re-up because my old channel died. But this was a great gift for my dad for Christmas as a nice treat! He likes it so much I am going to get the travel version for father's day for him. :) The lavender scent is very faint, more like relaxing and not overpowering (per my dad).

Awesome results, extra time needed

Quick Take: elegant, great value, fantastic close shave, lavender smell is terrific
The lavender oil is an essential oil, and it smells fabulous. Not feminine not masculine. The shaving cream goes a long way, so use just a dab. Gives a great shave. I bought this set for hubby on fathers day and the first shave, we did together. So close, for two days he did not need to shave. His only complaint is that it takes 5 extra minutes in the morning to get ready. That is the only reason its getting a 4/5. I think its worth it. I seriously recommend, ladies, that you get this set for your guys. I'd like to try the rose for myself. Wish the essential oil jar was larger too. Smells so awesome. Great stuff.

wonderful smell, and makes my man's face smooth...

My husband uses The Art of Shaving. He had some issues with razors making his neck raw and had a difficult time finding products that were gentle on his skin while still allowing him to get a smooth shave. He got the unscented trial size, used it once and then ended up going back to the store and buying the full size. He recently tried the lavender one and loves it. It's a relaxing smell and it's not too girly- something he was worried about. He really likes the whole ritual of shaving now and looks forward to it. The scent isn't very strong, but it smells nice. This stuff makes his skin so unbelievably soft and smooth. I'm glad he tried it. If there's a man in your life in need of smoother skin or you're just looking for a nice gift for a guy, give this a try. You won't regret it!

I got this as a present for my husband. The first set came with one of the glass bottles busted so I had to send it back. Fortunately the second set came in tact. He loves it except for it seems to give him a little bit of redness on his neck even though it says it's for sensitive skin. Dunno why that is... Otherwise he likes it. I like how smooth his face feels! ;)

Finally, a full product line that produces a clean shave with minimal bumps or burn. My husband is a Marine and I only wish we would have spent the money sooner. No more irritation from daily shaving. This would be a PERFECT gift for any guy who has to shave every single day and gets irritated skin. My husband LOVES it.

My husband has been using the Art of Shaving for years so I was very happy when Sephora started stocking this product!!
Really good value, very soft on the skin and the brush is luxurious. My husband feels pampered when he uses these every morning - and so he should. Better way to start the day then with a normal shave.
