Great stuff, as long as I use technique
-04.12.13
Quick Take: rich, the best, great for mixed hair
I love this stuff, but my hair is super-duper dry. I can use regular conditioner as a leave-in--that's how dry it is.
Over the years, I have come up with a curl technique that works well with everything, including this. (It will make hair look really greasy if you try it it on top of mostly dry hair, I think.) I always comb my hair through in the shower with conditioner, first with fingers to prevent breakage, then with a wide-toothed comb. I know wet hair is fragile, but with my tangles it's the only way I know I can get my scalp clean. With Hair Milk, it's best if I follow the directions and work it in while my hair is dripping wet and only use a dab. Then I gently squeeze my hair out with a towel or shirt. My hair looks best if I air dry it in the house. Diffuser if I have to. If my hair is mostly dry already, I mix the Milk with water before working it into my hair.
I have no idea if it works for normal or oily hair. It may make you really sad and looking like wet cats. But for me, it works so well! Alcohol products dry everything out and make it crispy.

Dislike
-02.12.13
Quick Take: greasy
I was not at all impressed with this product. I have very thick, wavy-curly hair, and I purchase products that will help to increase the curl when I diffuse it. This made my hair greasy feeling, and did absolutely nothing to help with the curl - just weighed it down.

Not Good!
-02.06.13
Quick Take: less than zero!!!!!!
This product litterally made my hair feel like straw! It took 3 consecutive shampoos to rid this straw-like film from my hair! Carol's Daughter is over rated! I've had horrible results from several of her products! Will not try any more of Carol's Daughter!!!!!!!

returned it
-01.29.13
I returned this product. I t was hard to wash out .and it did not spread through my hair. It seemed dryish rather than mositurizing. I believe this product is produced mainly for African-American hair and I am caucasion, but I have thick hair which tends to frizz and this promised it tames frizz, so I thought it might work for me. However, my hair did not look good with the product.

Great Product for Natural Hair
-12.25.12
Quick Take: lightweight, easy to use
I am a Black woman in her late 50s with thinning and short natural hair. My hair is composed of mixed textures--straight in the crown, curly in the back, and courser on the sides. This product is perfect to bring shine and curl to all of my different texures. It is a lovely product for Black women in particular, and I have purchased it for many of my friends longing to let go of the straight, processed look of their hair.

OK
-11.29.12
Quick Take: not good for fine hair
The product left my hair very soft and shiny - however I feel it was too 'heavy' for fine curly hair. I altered the amount of the product I used in my hair and each time it left me with a 'wet look' that I do not like.

Nice
-10.01.12
Tried it at the store, my hair is naturally wavy and it defined them a little more. Definitely only add a little as too much can make it look greasy and heavy. The smell is ok, a little strong. I would prefer a more light vanilla or coconut smell.

new smell is awful
-09.27.12
This is still good stuff for my jewish frizz, it doesn't weight it down and if I use it after showering i get nice tight curls and less frizz. But they changed the formula and the new smell is really gross - like weak, prissy florals. I liked the sort of creamy smell it had before.

Just OK
-08.25.12
Quick Take: easy to use
I love the original hair milk and thought the lite would be better for my toddler daughter. It does not really feel that much lighter. Her hair feels greasy after I put it on and it dries out after 1 hour. The original feels greasy but her hair does not dry out. I also do not like the fragrance. It is really strong and not as clean and fresh as the original.

No thanks.
-07.18.12
I've used the original Hair Milk before and didn't like the way it felt or looked in my hair but I wanted to give this a try. This leaves pieces of product in my hair that looks like dandruff. Normally, my hair looks fine the 2nd day after washing, but with this product, my hair looks oily and doesn't have any curl to it. I also didn't notice any "boosting" of my curls. I've used it a few times to give it a fair review, but I won't be buying it again.

Best product ever...but
-07.14.12
Quick Take: inconsistent fragrance, great for combo curly hair
I love this stuff! It defines and increases the curl in my hair while keeping it soft and natural looking. The only problem is the consistency, and by that I mean the quality from bottle to bottle. One bottle will smell gorgeously of roses (not overwhelmingly so) and the next will seem like someone forgot to add the fragrance. It still works well, but I don't get the added sensual experience. With the fragrance I constantly get compliments on how good I smell, and I am a smoker! I use it with the Black Vanilla s & c . When it's good it's phenomenal, when it's bad it's still pretty good.

Too Heavy
-06.04.12
Quick Take: greasy, thick
This is definitely not a "lite" cream, as the label suggests. Even the dime-sized amount recommended for use made my hair very heavy and greasy. For those with very thick, curly hair this might work well, but for my slightly fine, wavy hair it was too much. I find that a pea-sized amount mixed with my regular gel works well, but I won't be buying this again.

genius
-05.11.12
Quick Take: lightweight, non-sticky
This formula is moisturizing without being greasy just use sparingly on towel dried hair. I leave my hair alone after application and my hair dries into cute little happy ringlets. I've never been as happy with my hair before.
I leave the residue on my hands it absorbs like lotion.

Great product, just watch how much you use!!
-04.05.12
Quick Take: lightweight
I received a deluxe sample in my black friday gift bag of the hair milk shampoo, conditioner, and lite styling cream and I was hooked! I have used Aveda products for the last 10 years and while I still love those products, I love this so much more for when I do my hair curly. The shampoo and conditioners are both super moisturizing, and the "lite" styling cream works wonders. The only thing I have with the styling cream is a little bit REALLY goes a long way and as I recently cut 10 inches off my hair I made that terrible mistake of using too much out of habit. DON'T use too much…suuuuper greasy if you do. I have actually used this shampoo and conditioner for when I do my hair straight as well and I feel like it works just as well. If you're switching from shampoos with sulfates you will probably miss that "clean" feeling initially after using the shampoo, HOWEVER, the shampoo does get your hair clean but without stripping it of some natural oils. But in doing so it causes your frizz to be more manageable and your curl to come out that much more. I saw an immediate improvement in my hair after sampling this product, and it lasts a loooong time. Great products and I would recommend to anyone with curly hair. :)

I could not get passed the "fragrance" to use it long enough to see how my hair would respond. Returned it.

The Best
-03.26.12
Quick Take: non-sticky, lightweight, easy to use
I enjoy this, as well as the original. This has a nicer, lighter scent than the original and is very moisturizing, however the moisture doesn't last days like with the original. My hair texture is dry/damaged long curly and fine. I use about a quarter size amount.

Just a dime, or you will be greasy. But it works great! I don't use this product all the time. But I will always keep it on hand and use it for my curl needs.

Hair Milk Curl Booster Lite
-03.10.12
Quick Take: non-sticky, lightweight, easy to use
It has a light citrusy scent that kind of reminds me of pet stores. Its not a bad smell but not as good as other CD scents. Its does its job though as long as you only use a LITTLE. If you use too much you will be greasy. A dime sized amount on damp hair gives my tiny corkscrews definition!
