I am going to return this. I read all the reviews, but decided to give it a try anyway, and I have to say, the negative reviews are absolutely true! It does smell like detergent.

odd how the roll-on smells different

I have Lotus Garden in the roll-on as well as the solid perfume. I have to say, they smell different! I used the solid yesterday and I liked it, but people here are right - the roll-on has a weird smell, like bathroom cleaner to me. (is this the lemony scent that everyone alludes to?) I have a couple other roll-ons, and I think those are a lot better. The Lotus Garden spray also does not have this bathroom cleaner scent. I actually loved the spray, but it was a little strong after 2 hours (but I did spray a LOT on) but before those 2 hours I could not get enough of the scent!
If you like the Lotus Garden scent, then try it in the spray or the solid - skip the roll-on.

Quick Take: exotic
Surprised to see the reviews complaining that this fades fast to a lemon scent. On me it's more exotic floral and green than citrus. So maybe it entirely dependent on which form you get it (I have the solid) and your body chemistry.

this perfume is actually the grossest perfume i have ever smelled in my entire life. its like smelling weird flowers mixed with sour milk. i think you get the picture.

Other products by Pacifica of the same scent also smell a lot better. The lemon in this is very overpowering. After about ten minutes, the scent fades completely. Disappointing, also a waste of money.

this smells wonderful! it's got a light scent that smells best after it's been on your skin for a few minutes. it is citrusy and fresh and not overwhelming. perfect size to fit in your bag - lid secures well so it won't leak. this line offers other scents that smell great, too - but, this one is my favorite.
