Not the same formulation that it used to be ...

I first bought this product back about 10 years ago and loved it. It had a wonderful creamy consistency and really was nude in color. Throughout the years, I experimented with different primers only to return to this one. I must say that I'm really disappointed now. First the color (while is says "nude") is not necessarily that. Under certain lighting, it looks yellow-ish. Secondly, the formulation is no longer creamy but instead has a dry- cakey cream consistency. I'll use up what I have but I will not be a return product purchaser. As far as the ability to keep eye color in place ... it's decent at doing that.

Quick Take: creamy, crease resistant, color correcting
I've been using the same pot of this for 1.5 years now and am just about to run out. I LOVE this primer. It makes me lids perfectly matte and silk smooth, ready for whatever I want to do with them. I've always had oily lids, but with this I can go all day with no creasing. As far as it drying out or being hard to apply, there's no problem if you just scrape up a bit on the tip of your nail and then rub it between your fingertips to get it soft and spreading. Then just smear it on. IT takes 5 seconds and goes on perfect.

I am 54 years old & sadly am beginning to have creasing & unevenness of the skin around my eyes. As a longtime Lancome customer, I had high hopes that this product would apply smoothly & prevent creasing. I was very disappointed. It was too dry to spread smoothly and it looked pasty on me. I couldn't get it to blend in and look natural. And tugging on the eyelids, because a product won't spread, is a bad idea when eyelids are beginning to droop. I do think that it prevented creasing, but overall it was a huge disappointment. It does not have a "silky-smooth formula" as stated in the product information. And it does not provide a "natural finish." As my grad school advertising professor would have said, "Great concept, poor execution."

Cons- started to dry out just a little after the first couple uses and i didnt notice the cap being loose or put back on incorrectly
Pros- still does the job makes my eyelids look flawless before i put on my eyesshadow i am so sad when i accidentally skip it

Quick Take: creamy, crease resistant, color correcting
I love this product! This is the second eye primer I've ever tried, the first being Urban Decay and this one is far better. I have greasy eyelids for some reason and shadow creases up 3 hours after application, and wherever my brush first touches, the shadow sticks and won't blend. UD primer helped a lot with these problems, but Aquatique completely eliminated these issues! This primer is sheer perfection! I can now blend beautifully, and I have yet to see my shadow crease at all since using this product.

Quick Take: crease resistant, became hard after 3 months
Initially I LOVED this product, it was easy to apply and really kept my eye shadow look in place for hours (even working for 12 hour shifts). After a few months the product became less creamy and more clay-like which made it difficult to get out of the pot at all. Maybe I didnt use the product fast enough to prevent it from caking and hardening??

I used this product and apply heavy eye make-up at 6pm. Went to dinner, then the club, danced, partied until 2AM. Looked at the mirror at 3AM and my eye makeup was just how it was when I applied it at 6pm. Note, I was not drinking at all so it was definitely not a blurry illusion. However, the formula in the pot dried out within 3 months and was no longer usable.

Quick Take: color correcting, creamy, crease resistant, last all day
After using this product you will never want to go without it. It helps bring out the true colors of eye make, helps your shadows go on smooth and blend much easier. You can do your make up go out all night, wake up the next day and still have perfect eye make up. The best primer i have ever found. It can seem a little pricy but so worth it and one jar will last awhile.

I recieved this in a sample size and I love it! It is so creamy smooth. The best part is that you don't have to use a whole lot. A little goes a long way. My sample size has lasted me a long time and I still have lots left in my jar. Don't know when I'll need to buy the full sized but when I do, I'll definately be buying this one.

This stuff is amazing. It has a nice, cream consistency & goes on matte with a neutral color. When using this, my eyeshadow does not crease, even after a full day at work & spinning after work. It's a must have for any makeup bag!!

I really like Lancome products. This primer makes erasing mistakes easy. Goes on very well with just a fingertip. Its the first primer I tried, and so far so good! If you have a crease, eventually you will have to do a touch up, but definitely "crease resistant" as they say.

I started using this in the late '80's after my roommate had a makeover at the Lancome counter. I've strayed a few times to different brands, but have always come back to Aquatique. It holds my eyeshadow in place all day. I can't imagine going without this product for a day. Love it.

I have used this for years. Lasts all day on skin that likes to "EAT" up most makeup. It makes a great base for any eye shadow you want to use, and won't crease even in the heat. I wish they made more base tones available.

TRULY WATERPROOF BASE/PRIMER - GREAT IN SUMMER

Last fall, I used Lancome's Aquatique Waterproof Eyecolour Base when we went on vacation. Because it's waterproof, it helps to bond shadow a little bit better than many other primers. Coupled with a waterproof shadow and liner, it seemed to give my makeup a little bit of extra protection, and the shades stayed very vibrant, even when I got splashed. (I didn't do any heavy swimming so I can't speak to that aspect). It's a nude color, so can even lids (if nude's your shade) or otherwise, it can look like a shadow shade if your lids are lighter or darker, meaning you can use it alone. For those whose lids are the same shade, when used alone you'll end up with even toned lids, and a highly waterproof very even finish. Although not my daily primer/base, I really like this in the summer because it's really easy to fake a no-makeup look, using this base, a teeny bit of liner, just for definition, and waterproof mascara. These products will enhance my eyes, and offer good definition, without looking as if I have any eye makeup on at all, which is nice, because sometimes even a little bit of obvious eye makeup looks a little bit silly. The other thing I like, as previously mentioned, is that it does give me a little bit more assurance that waterproof shadows and liners will stay better when my eyes get wet. I hate when makeup runs in my eyes in the pool, because it hurts, besides for looking ridiculous. Lancome's Aquatique Waterproof Eyecolour Base helps eliminate those problems because it bonds waterproof shadow and liner to lids. Although I prefer my regular primer on an everyday basis, because I like it's consistency better, this is also excellent for the times when I need or want a waterproof base/primer.
