I use Calming Alabaster (the lightest shade) with my Russian white skintone (as opposed to Irish white); apply with a brush - neutralizes my pinkish skintone on full-coverage days/work. I feel like my mild rosacea & acne have improved, or at least not gotten worse since using this product. Coverage can build up to too much (doll-like porcelain complexion) if you go overboard. For a reasonable layer, just use some concealer on redness/blemishes. Keep in mind that the SPF is only good for the first couple hours after application, and I doubt this is something you'll be reapplying every couple of hours, so if you're going to be outside all day, wear some BB cream or tinted moisturizer with SPF instead, and keep in your purse to reapply as needed.

Great coverage and calming properties

I have only been using this for a week, but I already know I love this product! The solution is very creamy with a nice cooling sensation, and blends very well with buildable medium coverage. It last a full work day without touch ups and I like how it still gives a natural fresh look.

Quick Take: buildable coverage
I really wanted to like this, I ordered online but selected the second shade in the range as I am fair skinned but not alabaster. It has an peachy/orange hue that did not blend well with my skin tone. It did cover some red areas but made me look an unnatural orange! On the plus side it did not break me out. I then tried again with the Calming Alabaster shade hoping that this shade would be less orange, unfortunately on my skin this was still too orange to look natural so I won't be purchasing again.

When I first purchased this foundation I was very skeptical. Clinique really promises a lot with its description of Redness Solutions. Truly, this is revolutionary foundation. I have the worst case of red-face imaginable. After using this product everyday for 3 weeks I saw drastic improvements in my skin. My face is noticeable more even toned. I also just started cleansing with Clarity by Philosophy around the same time. I don't know if it is a coincident or not but wow my face looks great. This makeup can be a little heavy at times but I found if you use a beauty blender that is damp it thins it out. Just put some of the product on your hand, dab a little on the wet sponge, and dot on face. The finish is flawless. No more redness I promise.

I love this foundation! I have very pale skin with redness on my cheeks and chin. It really covers up the red and lasts a long time. The viscosity of the product is thick so it looks very heavy when you put it on. However if you blend, blend, and blend some more poof the redness is gone! Skin looks flawless. Great product. I truly recommend it.

This foundation is amazing! I have mild rosacea and I was looking for a product that would hide redness and broken vases and when I tried this I was really impressed! The full coverage is great, even and smooth. Not cakey at all!

I'm an esthetician with sensitive skin, and I sit in steam for a lot of my day. I have a few old acne hyper-pigmented scars on the sides of my cheeks and so I like to use a foundation daily (my skin needs to look pretty perfect) - this is the ONLY one that I have found that does not break out my sensitive acne-prone skin at all... and I have large pores to begin with. It blends really nicely, doesn't feel thick or sticky, and love that it has an SPF 15 in it as well (though you should be wearing a 30, really, so be sure to be getting another form of SPF in....) It also stays all day (in steam and though activity) but somehow washes off easily and completely at night (be sure to do your double-cleanses!). Love this and will continue using as long as they make it....

I'm in the great minority, but this did not work for me. Matched my skin tone went it went on but an hour later it had turned orange-y. Felt thick and drying. I don't have rosacea but do have a skin ruddiness on occasion. returned and back to Superbalanced.

Not the right one for me...

I love Clinique makeup products for their purity, no fragrance, sunscreen, etc. However, this one was just not the right one for me. It seemed a little too heavy on my skin, and the tone was just too yellow for me. Perhaps the lightest shade would be more flattering, but I ended up returning it. And I give Sephora 5 stars for ease of returning products, being able to return an on-line purchase to my local store even thought they don't carry Clinique in-store!

I was skeptical - I have redness, extremely sensitive skin and prone to acne. This products covers well, and didn't break out my face. I was even more surprised to see a reduction in redness after washing off at night. Didn't use much at all - while I would experiment a little more with shades to get a better "match," the sheerness of the amount I used was perfect. Also, didn't "wear off" but merely seemed to disappear into my skin as the day went on. Very nice product - will definitely buy again.

After years of using green or yellow primers, powders, and creams to cover up my ruddy complexion -the solution has finally arrived in this product. I've used this for 6 months now-just finishing up my second bottle. It covers my bad case of broken capillaries (thanks mom AND dad) perfectly!

It's not a bad liquid foundation, but I'm not impressed considering the claims Clinique makes about this product. It covers redness as well as any liquid, but I didn't find it had any calming abilities. Clinique's yellow correcting powder works really well to help minimize the look of redness on my skin.

This product definitely helps cancel out the redness of my skin and leaves me with a pretty clean slate to work with. It doesn't appear to dry out my skin, and dries to a nice finish - no visibility to speak of. Great product for those of us with rosacea.

I ordered alabaster, thinking it would be pale enough for my very fair skin. I was soo wrong. It made me orange. I gave it to a friend that I would say has a fairly medium skin tone. She loves it, wish I could say the same.
