Quick Take: good value, classic, powerful, warm
This is quite a mature, classic, powdery scent on me. It really is a great creation and one that exudes confidence, femininity and age, though not necessarily in a bad way, but in that of historical importance and wisdom. This will not read youth/fresh in any way. It wears very warm and super powdery on me and lasts a while (few perfumes last on my skin). I wore it all day on a cold and windy Montreal winter day, and my mom and husband could still detect it on me after hours of skiing outside. Definitely created for a cold winter day.

Quick Take: spicy
I'm usually not the biggest fan of the more "classic" fragrances out there. No. 5? Can't stand it. Estee Lauder? Yuck. But I actually was very pleasantly surprised when I smelled this today! It's a gorgeous, spicy fragrance. I still feel a bit too young (and poor) to wear this, but this seems like something someone a bit older than me could wear without smelling like a grandma.

I like the scent, but don't smell the vanilla! My male friends LOVE it! So, apparently it does work if you want to please your man! I din't wear it everyday, but it is a nice scent!

I've worn Shalimar since I was a teen and it remains my favorite fragrance. It is a subtle, undeniably sexy scent. Just enough throw to be noticed, but no so much that it can't be worn to the office.
On me, the amber dominates (amber loves me and always outshines its co-notes in a scent). The vanilla note accents the powdery/smoky qualities in the amber. The bergamot is very subtle, lending a whispery citrus warmth to the blend, cut from being too fruity by the iris.
It is a stunner. A classic, perfect, stunner.

Sweet but not cloying, warm and musky

Initially, I thought this scent would be too sweet for me. I purchased the parfum instead of the toilette, though, because musk, amber, and vanilla tend to stand out on me and I wanted the higher oil content to work in my favor.
True to form, the mist was a little sweet and flowery for me. Once it dried, however, it changed to a caramel/vanilla scent (my husband called it sexy candy) and eventually deepened to a light amber scent.
Definitely try this scent, in the parfum (not the toilette) and let it sit on your skin for a good 20 minutes before making your decision. If you generally wear warm, musky, or woody scents well, Shalimar will be a good fit for you.

Quick Take: complex and sexy
I received so many compliments wearing this. Definitely in my top 5 rotation for winter! To those who are new to it I would suggest not rushing into it. Wait for the complexity to unravel this is not something to simply spritz and adore. If after a few tries you are not in love and it does not go with your chemistry..fine but give it a shot, it's a beauty.

Classic Shalimar, Unique Among All Other Perfumes!

I might only be 20, but I am a huge fan of warm and spicy fragrances. Some florals are also lovely, as I am also a huge fan of Oscar (the original) so naturally I hunted down this vintage beauty to try out; all I can really say is wow!
This perfume might not have a lot of notes, but it is the deepest, warmest, most complex scent I have had the pleasure of wearing in such a long time. If you don't like it in the bottle, you have to try it on your skin; this perfume hasn't been a classic for so long for no reason. It picks up this warm vanilla musk with a gentle influence of the bergamot on my skin, it's fantastic. So different from all of the other perfumes out there that all seem to smell the same, if you're looking for something beautiful and unique, Shalimar is a fantastic option.

I have been wearing this perfume ever since I was 14 years old when a boyfriend gave it to me for my birthday. I fell in love with this powdery, spicey, oriental scent with vanilla. It makes you feel feminine, romantic, and sexy. I will never find another perfume that I get so many compliments on everytime I wear it.

I just received the deluxe sample in my package. I was excited to get this as I've heard good things about Shalimar.
The notes in the perfume are almost overbearing for my senses personally. It's VERY powdery, I hardly smell the vanilla. I feel as though it might be something my aunt would prefer than myself...which is a shame considering I love iris and bergamot.
I'm not going to say it's a terrible scent, it just doesn't work for someone who prefers cooler scents.

Quick Take: warm, powdery, rich
I received a deluxe sample of this from Sephora. This scent is definitely powdery, but not in an overwhelming or grandmotherly way. It is very rich, warm, and inviting. When my husband smelled this he described it as "fancy" and said all we needed now was a chandelier and ball gown.
This scent does not fit my personal style (more homey and "granola eating hippie" for reference) but it is a gorgeous scent and I'd recommend it if you're more glamorous. I can see why some of the previous reviewers state they've worn this for years! I like it a lot but it just isn't "me".

Sometimes I flirt with other fragrances--Chanel Coco is another favorite--but I always come back to this. I love the way it smells. It's classic. Men love it, too. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. I suspect maybe it's the vanilla ;)

Quick Take: beautiful, delicious, sexy, warm, great staying power, deep
I bought this perfume after hearing a description and review of it on YouTube by KatiePuckrikSmells. She made me fall in love with it. I love these kinds of smells. It is sweet, warm, deep and spicy without being sickening. I wear it all year but smells wonderful in the colder months. When I wear or smell this perfume it just makes me think of things that are beautiful, sexy, strong and feminine. If you like a very warm and deep perfume then you will really love this one.

I've been wearing Shalimar for 35 years! I love it and will just go without if I can't have Shalimar! I used to save my babysitting money to buy it when I was a teenager. I have always received many compliments and men just can't resist it! It's a beautiful scent that not every woman can pull off. Love it forever!
