Lovely texture, but too white
-06.08.13
Quick Take: reduces shine
I love the feel of this powder and it's sheer, but in the light it's white. I'm pale enough without this added issue. For those with very fair skin (like natural redheads, etc.), this is for you. I am going to exchange it for the Transparent version, which has a little color.

White Powder
-05.26.13
Personally, it wasn't my favorite. An employee recommended it to me so I tried it but it made my face look powdery. I exchanged it for the original loose setting powder and my makeup looks much better.

Not for me
-05.17.13
Quick Take: sheer coverage
After getting some rave recommendations, I decided I would try this. I didn't enjoy it at all. Extremely cakey, white and I was barely applying anything. I did however love the container. Since I'm extremely oily, I don't see this working for anyone else.

Quick Take: oil-absorbing, reduces shine
I love this loose powder b/c its light and you cannot over-do it. It travels well b/c of the stopper, but its kinda big.

Love this setting powder
-05.04.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, sheer coverage, reduces shine
I use this under my tinted moisturizer and whenever I use foundation. It is the silkiest powder I have ever used. Excellent setting powder. Great for my mature skin. Doesnt settle into fine lines. Never looks cakey. Love it!

-04.27.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, reduces shine
This is the BEST invisible setting powder... well I actually haven't tried very many, but I LOVE this one... recently tired other brand that has some 'special CLAY', HATED IT! . I have UBER oily skin and this helps a lot. Don't get me wrong, I still get a lil oily in the face ~ just not as oily and not as early in the day.

Matte!
-04.06.13
Quick Take: matte
Great powder if you are a fan of the matte look. Because I live in what is basically the tropics during the summer, this is incredibly important, and I think it will hold up well. Easy to use, and I like the dispenser.

I love this powder!
-04.05.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, reduces shine, sheer coverage
I love the lightness and invisibility of this powder. It does just what it's supposed to do - set and enhance your foundation - not create another layer on your face. I also love the package - the way you can seal it for travel. My last powder was not so well designed and a lot was wasted every time I had to pack it up to go. Great product!

Still not sure
-04.02.13
It works to set my makeup but seems to wash the color out. I'm still on fence whether to return but at least my skin looks good.

Fantastic Setting Powder
-03.31.13
Quick Take: lightweight
This powder sets my foundation really well without looking cakey or too white. It is a white colored powder, but looks invisible when applied. It also works really well on oily skin and does not irritate my rosacea.

Truely invisible!
-03.10.13
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, sheer coverage, reduces shine
Laura Mercier setting powder is great! I asked for a setting powder that didn't make me look ghostly or cakey. It really goes on translucent without making me lighter. It keeps the shinies at bay! I put this ontop of my makeup in the morning, go to work under fluorescent lights and 8 hours later my makeup still looks great! A small amount goes very far so make sure to tap your brush out! I gave it 4 stars vs 5 because of the packaging, I wish so much didn't come out at once :/ as for that, it's fabulous!

Light and lovely
-02.10.13
This is the best powder for sensitive skin. I think it is great for all skin types. It covers completely without being heavy. It has a light scent, but don't sniff it because the powder is so thin. Lasts all day long too. Helps to control oil. One of the greatest things is that this powder does not settle into wrinkles. This is my second purchase. My first container lasted me slightly over one year. Love it.

No white cast in photos!
-02.07.13
This powder works just as well as the other loose setting powders such as MUF Silica Loose Powder and the Tarte Smooth Operator Loose Powder; HOWEVER there is no white cast with Laura Mercier, I tested it myself! I knew MUF left a white ghostly cast in pics because I experienced it myself. I went and brought home the Tarte and the Laura Mercier loose powders home. I put Tarte on one side and I put Laura's on the other side. I made sure to wear just ONE earring in one ear and I wore it on the Tarte side so I wouldn't be confused which side was which when looking at the picture. Well, although the Tarte side left less of a white cast then MUF (that was the worse, but MUF does have the best finish in my opinion), it still left a cast and my goal was to find one that did not. Well, the Laura Mercier did not leave ANY cast, and if it does, it was so small, I didn't even noticed. I took several pictures of my face, probably at least 5 at different angles just to make sure it wasn't the lightning. Well, although the MUF has a better finish, I am going with Laura's Invisible Loose Setting Powder because it still does the job for me as far as the finish, and more importantly, I don't have that ghostly white cast on my face in pictures! If you are going to take wedding pictures or any important pictures, go for this one over the other two I mentioned. Try it out for yourself. Take a sample home and snap a pic of yourself with your cell camera! I believe you only get the cast when a flash is used, that is the only time it shows up in pictures. So if you take pics with no flash, no need to worry..., get the MUF since it has the best overall finish.

Quick Take: sheer coverage
I bought this powder because it was used on Kristen Stewart in Breaking Dawn! I do like it, but my concealer appears to be a little darker after applying the powder. I am a sephora return junkie, but I've decided to keep this which is a rare thing!

Light and airy, leaves no dusty cakiness, face feels real smooth. Little goes a long way. Invisible on my brown skin. Sets makeup. Now a staple. Nuff said :)
