A disappointment for my hair type
-05.07.13
I was hoping this shampoo would be "the one". Needless to say, I was not thrilled, considering the hype. The smell is wonderful, but that's it. I should mention that I have fine blond hair with highlights and oily roots - about shoulder length - so I need something to clean gently, but not dry the ends. It did not clean my hair well and made my ends feel dry and stripped of moisture. And, I'm not sure if I was having an off day, but I had flakes on my scalp after my first (and only) use. I don't want to say the shampoo caused it, but as I said, my scalp didn't feel clean after using this product. I was hoping for more due to the clever marketing and steep price tag. It may work better for less senstive types, but my fine, oily hair did not like it. I will be trying Bumble and Bumble next. Finding a shampoo that cleans well and doesn't dehydrate is challenging.

Amazing
-03.04.13
I use the conditioner, Kenfi Oil and the Styling Lotion from the anti frizz line too. I have curly hair that I mostly straighten adding their Heat Protection Spray to sections as I Blowout my hair. My hair looks great afterwards.

I was losing a lot of hair and it was very dry. Since using this shampoo my hair has STOPPED falling out. It is strong, healthy and frizz free.

Good but not good enough
-01.22.13
Quick Take: good for daily use
The cap broke the very first day I got this shampoo so I was really disappointed in the packaging, I do not understand the twist cap concept because your hands are wet and slippery, why would you want to have to twist a top open in the shower? I do like the shampoo but to be honest, I found a drugstore brand that is sulfate free that gives me the same results for $14 less so I will not be repurchasing.

SO SOFT!
-01.10.13
Quick Take: good introduction to sulphate free hair care., 8 oz for $20
I recently had my first keratin treatment done and was informed that I would need to purchase a shampoo and conditioner that is both sulphate free and if possible sodium chloride free. My hairstylist watered the explanation down by telling me these ingredients found in every shampoo and conditioner unless otherwise specified would strip all the precious treatment I just paid for out of my hair. I went to Sephora and was given two suggestions this line from Alterna and/or Bumble & Bumble's concen-straight line. I went with the Alterna and am pleasantly surprised. Not only is it keeping as much of the treatment in as possible, but it leaves my long, thick, newly straight hair SO SOFT! Especially in combination with the conditioner. It has a subtle, clean smell and feels slightly thick when applying. The $20 price tag is a little harsh in comparison to say a drugstore shampoo, but it definitely shows a difference than those products.

Light, doesn't strip hair
-01.03.13
This is the only brand my hairstylist in Scottsdale uses on me so that's why I went on to purchase it at sephora so I can use it at home as well. I like that it doesn't strip my hair dry; it actually feels soft and hydrated afterwards. I have 4B hair.

Good Shampoo, Bad Packaging
-01.02.13
I really like the shampoo but the packaging is not good. The shampoo leaked between the time I bought it at the store and by the time I got it home. It also has leaked when I travel with it. I probably lost 1/4 of the bottle. It's also impossible to get the last bits out as the bottle is emptying due to the fact that the shampoo has to come out a hole right in the middle of the bottle. I really hope Alterna addresses this because the product is good, but I won't deal with that frustration.

Fabulous Products
-12.10.12
The Alterna Bamboo Smooth Anti-Frizz SHamppo and Conditioner are the best shamppo and conditioner that I've tried in quite a while. I was using Aveda products, but I've switched to the Alterna Bamboo line.

doesn't clean well
-11.11.12
i wanted to use a sulfate-free shampoo for my hair because at the time, i was living in an apartment with very hard water, which dried out my fine hair. this product was okay the first few times, but i noticed it wasn't cleaning out the products and oils out of my hair, and my hair felt greasy and dirty. either that, or it was leaving behind some kind of residue. i don't know. also, the smell is somewhat nauseating.

Won't be switching any time soon.
-10.22.12
I love this shampoo and use it along with the conditioner for smooth and great smelling locks without using harmful ingredients. I will admit that I have had a keratin treatment so that combined with this shampoo and conditioner are what keeps my normally curly and frizzy hair looking great!

So So
-10.22.12
after going back and forth between this one and the bumble and bumble anti frizz shampoo, i decided to try this one. After using for a few days i see days when it works and others my hair is the same. I have thick, wavy hair . This is not some miracle shampoo. I would rate this product a 4 out of 10. Also size is not what i expected way to small for the price. Also there was a lot of rave about the scent. it honestly doesn't have any good smell to it, product strips my hair very thick and if you have long, thick hair like i do this bottle will finish within days or 2 weeks depending on the amount you use. I would try a different product.

Nothing special
-09.28.12
Quick Take: just okay
This shampoo is okay, but doesn't seem to have any special "anti frizz" effect which would warrant the price. The dispenser also makes it difficult to get out of the bottle. I would say the say thing for the conditioner--nothing special. The dry-oil spray is great, however.

A lot for your money
-09.23.12
Quick Take: rinses well, my new favorite, smells delish, eliminates frizz and fuzzy hair
At first I was disappointed with the size of this bottle - so small! But a little goes a long way. I tried a sample and loved what it did for my hair that has a tendancy to frizz. My hair is thin and long and I usually have to straighten it after washing. I absolutely LOVE the smell and it lathers great. Love the results - I will definetly purchase again!

Smooth
-09.08.12
This shampoo is great for my fine hair. It does what it says without making it heavy or greasy. It does not weigh my hair down at all. After washing with this shampoo and using the conditioner, my hair is like silk, but with bounce and body, and amazing shine. Also, the smell is fantastic. I love this line!

Well, that was disappointing.
-09.08.12
I got samples of this, the conditioner, and the oil in a Sephora package and tried 'em this morning.
The shampoo stripped my hair. The conditioner did nothing to repair the damage--when I got out of the shower, my hair was so knotted I could barely get a comb through it. The oil was heavy and strange, and did nothing to reduce frizz.
I have thick, wavy hair that goes into ringlets with almost no frizziness as it is. Even air-drying, I noticed more frizz than I've ever seen.
It's too bad, since I love the way all three products smell.

terrific body and anti-frizz shampoo
-08.16.12
Quick Take: what i hoped it would be
I have slightly longer than shoulder length fine but abundant hair with enough nartural curl to wear curly w product taming or blow-dry straight. I need some body lift but not 'gone wild' and the frizz factor is ever present bc I live in humid southern climate. This shampoo was recommended to me by Carmen at the Sephora Summit store in Birmingham, and it fit my needs in every way... Full-bodied silky feel, no frizz!
