too shimmery for me

so, i gave it 3 stars because it works and is a good primer. I tried it a few times but returned it... I was hoping for more of a subtle shimmer and color correction of redness around my eyes, but this was definitely not subtle.
I should add, i go for a very natural look. I use foundation, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara, but mostly to slightly enhance rather than to look made up. So this might be perfect for someone else, just not me!

A little goes a long way

I like the way this brightens the inner corners of my eys but it is very sparkly. I use it very sparingly in order to avoid looking like a 13-year old girl. I don't use it as a primer for eyeshadow, just wear it alone for a fresh, bright eye. It definitely has staying power.

A little bit gives a great foundation for any eye shadow. Also, I have used this by itself with the addition of simple tinted eyeliner for a fast, casual look. I love it!!

Quick Take: sparkly, shimmering, glamorous
I love this stuff! It works well and is beautiful when you want that shimmering look, however it is sparkly! You should keep that in mind if you want anything from lightly shimmery to matte...this will not give you a natural look!

Good primer and it does extend your eye color wear time. Its brightening but it very sparkly. So much glitter that by the end of the day and when you apply it; its on your cheeks and face. If you love shimmer, glitter, sparks this is a great primer. If you hate spark, glitter, shimmer stay away.

Quick Take: bumpy
I've tried another primer that worked much better. This product is not very smooth because of the brightening glitter. Makes my eye shadow cakey. Tried it on my cheeks today, seemed to work well with my bronzer/blush.

Wish I tried it on before purchasing as the Pearl color I got is much too light on my skin. It makes me feel as if I'm still in the eighties! The primer is also a bit on the thick side and so doesn't glide as well on the delicate eyelid area. You definitely should only pat it on the eyelids versus using he finger to smooth it out like I normally do. Maybe I'll try the gold color next time.

Quick Take: color correcting, creamy, crease resistant
This is my "if you could only have one cosmetic product, what would it be" item. The brightening eye shadow base is perfect for a stand alone shadow. The shimmer brightens subtly to make you look awake and neutralize any redness or darkness on your lids. When you're in a time crunch and don't have time for shadow, just throw this on, liner, and mascara, and done. But it works great under actual shadow as well.
It is incredibly waterproof and even waterproofs liner (all liner) which I love!! I found out how strong its staying power is when I unintentionally went to a hot yoga class, not having removed my makeup. I was floored to see my eyeliner, "shadow", and mascara (fairy drops) still on and in place. Truly amazing considering how much you sweat in hot yoga! Love, love, love this product!

Quick Take: not for me
Ive used Original Eye Primer and decided to give the Brightening Eye Primer a try. Much too frosty for this 46 year old lady. I wear mostly peralized shadows and when combined with the Brightening Primer it was WAY too much.

Convenient but Small

Quick Take: compact, brightening, timesaver, effective
I bought this with the intention to simplify my beauty routine and makeup bag. I absolutely must wear primer (Urban Decay has been my favorite) if I want my eyeshadow to last so I figured this product could serve as both.
Many people complained the Pearl version was too shimmery and light but I thought it was perfect for what I wanted to achieve. Actually, I think the formula could have even more shimmer and pigment. This primer really helps brighten my eyes even when I've overslept and am crunched on time. I simply use this with a bit of mascara and I'm good to go. When I want a more dramatic look, I can layer eyeliner/eyeshadow over it and don't have to worry about the additional products fading over the day.
I do agree with other reviewers that the size is pretty small for the price but it does look like it lasts a while. I have only had this product for a month and the tube still seems to be pretty full. I expected to be halfway through it by now.

brightening pearl is the way to go

I absolutely love the brightening pearl primer. I am on my second bottle. I thought about trying the gold and after I bought it I immediately got regrets and returned it for the pearl. The gold reminded me of the primer I used before this - the Urban Decay one that is a shiny beige (so similar to the brightening gold).... the reason I keep going back to the pearl color (which I initially thought looked so goofy on and almost gave up on) is because its a "white" color base, it really brings out the true color of your shadow. If you use a matte or shimmery beige primer - give the pearl a shot. If you don't use primer - wel... use primer. I also have a bunch of the colored primers from a christmas set last year and from various kits... all great. Solid product all around.

I do love the product, but i thought it was going to be pink like in the picture. It is actually more white. It still works well and does brighten, just not the color I was hoping for.
