Quick Take: not what it appears
Purchased this product at Sephora. Nothing on the exterior packaging indicated I had to follow a specific menu. Upon opening, I find that I must buy and eat Salmon, berries, egg whites and watercress for 10 days. I'm allergic to eggs and do not care for salmon. I tried my best with substitutes and took the vitamins as indicated. NO RESULTS. Could not get refund from Dr. Perricone since I bought it at Sephora. HUGE RIP OFF in my opinion. At least indicate on the packaging the 'extra' hoops you have to jump through so consumers can make an informed decision. Oh yeah and I broke out all over my face.

great for looking and feeling your best

I've used this maybe not 100% as directed (didn't follow the diet and didn't consistently use it 3x a day) and have seen an excellent result. I bought these for a trip to Maui, not only to look good in a bikini, but also just to promote healthy digestion (no tummy upset due to travel/ stress from travel and weird sleep and eating patterns). Basically besides all of the other good stuff, the perfectly balanced fatty acids give your body exactly what it needs to make use of fats in your diet efficiently (including conjugated linoleic acid which blocks the absorption of fat). It would cost more to try and replicate this pre-packaged perfectly balanced regimen (and the packs are so convenient for travel). Not only did this help me to look and feel (mentally/ emotionally great), but I actually felt myself getting full more easily when I took these with a meal. And while I didn't follow his diet, this complimented the fish-heavy diet I had in Maui...I don't want to run out, may need to keep taking these on an ongoing basis!

Quick Take: recommended, easy to use, works, expensive
I read other people's reviews on here about this product (good and bad), and decided to try it after really researching Dr. Perricone and reading some of his other books.
First, the diet portion of this is not easy mentally. Once you overcome the fact that you're drinking egg whites (and FYI, the liquid ones in the carton don't even look like regular egg whites), and the initial shock of not actually eating breakfast or lunch, you're good to go. Your body gets what it needs...protein, carbs from vegetables, and none of the processed junk. I lost 9.2 lbs so far on this. I've had a couple of days when I eat like I used to, but still take the vitamins and was able to maintain. I have 25 more lbs to go, and will be using the supplements and the diet to do it. It's pricey, but definitely works.

Definitely Works

I am on Day 8 and I have lost a total of 8 lbs, so it definitely works. Most of my weight loss appears to be in my mid-section. I have been using the supplements in conjunction with the metabolic diet. The first couple days I experienced caffiene withdrawal headaches (I am generally a heavy coffee drinker and went cold turkey on Day 1) and had some emotional swings, but since Day 3 I have felt fine with sufficient energy to get through the day. I do find myself very hungry in the evenings, and I have varied the diet just slightly - sometimes microwaving the liguid egg whites at lunch for "scrambled eggs" and eating the berries whole. This seems to be just as effective and makes me feel like I've at least had a meal. The dinner is actually filling if you can get past eating the same meal for 10 days. I haven't noticed any chance in my skin, but the weight loss is amazing!

Quick Take: pretty good.
Well I did not follow the diet that is advised but had my own light diet of salads and blue berry shakes. I didn't see any drastic weight loss but then again I don't really weight myself on a daily basis.
What I did notice was a dramatic change in my energy levels. It was as if I took a shot of vitamin feel good. There was no jitter or uncomfortable shake or stomach upset.. but an alertness and rested feeling.
After the 10 packets were finished I continued taking a multi vitamin and I feel that the energy levels have maintained.

I would recommend the use of this for a vitamin boost, specific towards energy but not so much on losing weight, if that is your goal.

I followed the dosage of this product but did not loose one pound. It really did not do anything for me. My metabolism seems to be what it was before I started this regimen.

So I am already in love with Perricone's Omega's so I thought to myself, why not try the Metabolic Formula? I had just had my second baby 4 months ago and I wanted a jumpstart on my baby weightloss. I'll be honest I didn't follow the diet exactly but I was watching what I ate and did cardio and weight training at least 2x a week. WOW I finally dropped the last 7 lbs in 10 days! I was amazed and my coworkers couldn't believe how much smaller in the waist I became because the formula burns belly fat and revs up your metabolism. I'm a firm believer in Perricone!

Quick Take: energy, clear skin, weight loss, effective
I took them religiously for about five days, my skin looks better for sure. I have lost some weight, but I don't weigh myself ever so I can't be sure. I can just tell by putting on my jeans. I stopped taking 3 packs a day after the fifth day so I didn't follow the regime at all. So I'm still taking them after breakfast every morning, and I find that I have more energy through the day. I would buy these again but I wouldn't take them three times a day. Maybe two packs a day at the most for me, because I was having stomach problems or something, because my breath smelled horrendous, so said my fiance when I was taking 3 a day. Sorry but I couldn't make him suffer or me anymore! haha.

Quick Take: effective
So far, I've used the supplements and followed the metabolic diet closely but not perfectly. (I've been drinking diet drinks rather than just water and I can't manage to eat the watercress but everything else I've followed to the letter.) I've lost 7 pounds in five days. I do find that I'm quite hungry but the weight loss is encouraging. The calorie intake is extremely low, however, with the supplements I don't get the headaches or loss of energy I would normally get on such a diet. When I woke up on day 5 I could see a visible weight loss difference in my face, which I've never seen happen so quickly before. I tried doing just the diet without the supplements and I couldn't cope with the lack of food. (Egg white/Berry meal replacement wasn't enough.) However, with the supplements, I can. I would definitely recommend giving this a try if you have the discipline to follow the diet. (Although drinking liquid egg whites sounds disgusting, the pasteurized products soId in cartons have the consistency and color of grapefruit juice, without any smell or taste. It isn't slimy like proper eggs.) I wish I would have bought more than two boxes when Sephora had their 15% off coupons! I will definitely continue to use this product.

Fastest weight loss I've tried...BUT make sure you get your thyroid and adreal glands working, too...or no weight loss will help...I had to go to an alternative dr to get this right...so...when everything is working..this stuff works!!!

These supplements work exceptionally well when doing the Metabolic Detox (available on the Perricone MD site). My first time around I lost 8 pounds in 10 days. This seems to be a common experience, after reading others reviews. Now I just completed the Start Fresh challenge through the Perricone FB page. I used the Metabolic Formula supplements and was so happy with how I felt, as well as my weight loss results. They curbed my appetite (great because I was reducing my calories and “bad food” intake) and they gave me a non jittery energy. Most supplements I’ve tried, that are targeted towards weight loss or management, always left me feeling “funny”. The Metabolic Formula is the very first supplement that actually made me look and feel better. I noticed an extra glow, really clear skin and energy to make it through my day. For anyone looking to lose a little weight or a lot I suggest these as an addition to your routine. Dr Perricone suggests that we eat anti inflammatory foods and exercise for optimal health and skin. I read his book The Perricone Promise and was intrigued by the whole anti inflammatory idea. Then after reading his newest book, Forever Yong, I knew he was really onto something. I’ve been taking the Skin and Total Body Supplements for over a year, and when I want to drop some weight (like over the holidays) I use the Metabolic Formula instead.
