"new lover" great everyday color; STICKY.

Quick Take: creamy, moisturizing, sticky
I love NARS lip pencils. Their velvet matte ones are amazing.
While I still like and wear my velvet gloss pencil in "New Lover", which is a great color for almost anyone--don't look at the tip of the pencil so much as the swash they're showing in the photo, it is much more like the swatch--it is extremely sticky. I don't know if this is the case for the other Velvet Gloss pencils, but it probably is.. and I find the sticky texture to be a big deterrent to wearing it as much as I would otherwise.

Love this pencil!! The color is so nice, not too bright but you can tell you have something on. And it's so silky and not sticky, I will definitely buy more!

Quick Take: long wearing, creamy
I looooooove my Mexican Rose pencil, and have been using it for a few months now after getting used to having a bright pink mouth (this is my first super bright lipstick). It's moisturizing, odorless and tasteless, lasts forever, and doesn't feather or flake. It's also such a good combo between a lipstick and a lipgloss: it has the staying power of lipstick, but the shininess of a gloss. The one drawback is that it's almost too much of a stain. It is hard to get off of skin around the lips, and I've found it on my towels, my shirts, my friends' cheeks, etc. I wish it were a bit easier to remove from those places!

While Happy Days is a bit too light, Baroque is the perfect plum pink. The coverage is good and keeps my lips moisturized. I love it, although New Lover is still my favorite so far.

I got Happy Days, after falling in love with the gorgeous color and coverage of New Lover. I am still undecided about whether to keep Happy Days, because the color is very sheer and pale. It's pretty but I wish the color saturation were a bit stronger.

I went in Sephora looking for a bold lip color for the summer and specifically tried on Yu (hot pink) in the satin version of this lip pencil but I am so glad I got Mexican Rose instead! I tested both on my hand and they were all sold out of Yu so I got the velvet pencil in Mexican Rose (although I prefer the satin finish more). But I was BEDAZZLED by the color payoff of this after I put it on! The color deepens after 15 mins so it's more of a medium berry on me (I have light skin with warm undertones) and this looked so gorgeous I kept staring at myself in the mirror going WOW! I received a sample of this with my beauty insider points in the color New Lover, which is also very nice, that I use for work because it's a soft pink. Mexican Rose is great day or night in the summer! The color is long lasting, texture is silky soft, moisturizes your lips, and you don't need to reapply more than 2x. Great product! Will always have this in my makeup staple as long as they keep making this!

Quick Take: creamy, glossy, lightweight
I got this pencil in Buenos Aires. I love the color and the gloss, and it just glides right on. It is lightweight and silky, so that I barely feel it, but it's still hydrating. The color doesn't last long, but other, darker colors may. I wish the pencil itself lasted longer. I have only had it a short time and feel that I have already used a lot of it. For the price, it's going pretty fast, and isn't THAT amazing. I won't return it, but won't buy it again.

This line is great. Very long lasting and doesn't dry your lips. Just make sure you purchase the Nars specific pencil sharpener. Otherwise you're stuck not being able to sharpen it. It was $6.00 so it's not to pricey to have on hand.

VERY BRIGHT rose color. Texture is so light you forget you're wearing it. Color lasts all day, and when gloss wears off leaves bright stain. Easily wears 8-12 hours. If you want to be noticed, wear this!

This is my second lip pencil from Nars. I was a little hesitant at first because i don't care much for the lipgloss feel. I tried at the store one night loving the color. It's a very vibrant pink. Glides on smoothly without the stickiness of a lipgloss afterwards. I have apply this one the morning before work, eaten, talked all day with customers ( work in costumer service) franked coffee & come home to looking like I just reapply. Definitely worth the money. The first one I got was Cruella which is a deeper red. I've had it for awhile too. Overall I give it 5 stars & will keep on adding more colors to my collection.

With all the pencils out there, you either choose "really oily, and doesn't last" or "super dry and cakey"... Or you can choose this one and get it right! I love the texture - like soft butter, but it somehow knows how to stay on, clinging to my lips for a few hours at a time. The colors are perfect for any skin tone.
I just keep adding them to my purse and makeup bag.

Quick Take: moisturizing
I have this in New Lover (sample size), Baroque, and Club Mix. These feel like a gloss-lipstick combination; they're a little tacky but not too bad, but they have the color payoff of a lipstick. I like the feel of them on my lips, comfortable and moisturizing, and I like the colors, sparkly and glossy. The one downside is that you have to sharpen them, thus I took off a point. But if you put them in the freezer first it's easier to avoid waste.

I love these lip pencils from Nars my favorite being Frivolous. I just bought Cythére which is kind of a golden bronze shimmer color. I love wearing this over some of the new bright lip shades that are out right now. It gives a sort-of sun kissed glow to the lips.
