i have oily skin and have always used powder foundation but i wanted to try liquid to hide acne marks and it works great i didn't really get any clogged pore effects which i was nervous about

Good for the price, but returned it

I initially bought this on sale for $5 at sephora, but ended up returning it because I felt it was too "cakey".. I couldn't exactly breathe in this foundation. While it gave great coverage, it was certainly too thick for my skin and also was 1-2 shades darker. Had to return...maybe if I find it in my skin tone, I will buy again. But overall a good enough product.

Quick Take: buildable coverage, long wearing, oil-free
I was so sad to know that they discontinued this foundation. I bought 4 backups when I heard about it and wish I bought more. This is the best foundation I've used yet. I llove the coverage and the lasting power it has. It doesn't break me out and does not look cakey or feel heavy. It looks great in photos and really makes me skin with acne scars look flawless. Please bring this back!!!!

this is a full coverage foundation that i love. Im so upset that they discontinued it. I havent tried the new one because im still using mine! it lasts long and doesnt feel heavy

Quick Take: thick, matte, full coverage
Sephora's Perfecting Foundation is a thick, full coverage foundation that has a very matte finish. For the price of the bottle, you really get your moneys worth. Just a little dab will cover a lot of skin, as long as you blend it well. My skin is a little on the dry side, so I have to mix it with some moisturizer to give me a more dewy and natural look and feel. Otherwise, it will too cakey on my type of skin. I do that with a lot of foundations which also makes them last longer because I use less. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

Quick Take: fast drying
First I'll start with what I don't like, this foundation dries so fast! It makes it difficult to blend and leads to uneven foundation, which I find super irritating. It is also really easy to wear too much. A little goes a long way with this product, which is a good thing after you realize just how little you need. But it's not very expensive and I can tell it's going to last me a long time, so overall it's an okay product.

Quick Take: buildable coverage
i bought this foundation because the reviews seemed to be pretty good and thesales women who helped me at sephora said it was a good and inexpensive foundation. to me its not even worth the price. my main fuss about it is that it doesnt last long. the foundation kind of sits on your skin and isnt blendable like i was hoping. by the time i leave my 6 hour shift at work its uneven and looks pretty bad! dont buy it... not worth the price

Medium coverage but the formula can look patchy on dry skin. I recommend mixing with a moisturizer and using a foundation brush to blend it in. It seems a bit thick and greasy sometimes, so I use a light hand in applying. Overall not a bad foundation but probably not my go-to choice.

Quick Take: buildable coverage, long wearing, oil-free, great color match
I had just discovered this foundation and loved the color match better than MUFE that I had been using....and it is half the price...yeah!! MUFE has a slight mineral like undershine that I find made me a little chalky. I am African American with a hard to match yellow undertone skin color and the Sephora #40 did that to perfection! Well now my new favorite has not only been reformulated (and most likely ruined) but a corresponding color has not been made available. In this day and age I find it insulting for a makeup company to remove ethinic foundation colors from their lines. It's absurd that some companies have not developed darker colors but to remove them when you already have them??? The census just came out with new stats that say for the first time the ethnic population is larger. Shame on you Sephora. Guess you don't need my $$$
