Great sun protection without being greasy!

Quick Take: non-greasy, blends in easily
I really love this product! It has a very high UVA,UVB protection which is hard to find in a non-greasy formula. I have oily skin so other products are not suited for my skin. It also moisturizes your skin so you really can skip using any other moisturizer during the day. I do use a serum under this product. Some sunscreens seem to irritate my skin but so far this is working great. I would recommend this product and will purchase it again.

Quick Take: whitening
This new formula leaves a white cast and builds up in stubble making it hard to apply. The previous 38 SPF formula was much better and went on clear. Also, the ingredients have changed. I do not recommend this product unless you like to look pale and chalky.

Very light - blends well - pleasant scent

I combine this sunscreen with Clinique's Dramatically different moisturizing lotion and it blends great. I used to use Clinique's urban environment sunscreen and it had a tint to it which I didn't like and felt a little greasy (also bad smell). This one feels very light on my skin, doesn't make me break out (I have very sensitive skin), and I really like the light scent. My only issue is that it absorbs VERY quickly and can leave white streaks if you don't rub it in fast enough. It took me a few days to figure out the best moisturizer-to-sunscreen ratio but once I figured it out I stopped getting white patches on sunscreen stuck to my face.
Overall I've really enjoyed this so far! I believe I would purchase it again.

Good texture, but lightens skin color

Quick Take: non-greasy
The texture isn't quite as good as their SPF 35 version, which has a shimmery luster to it that's extremely flattering to the skin, but it doesn't make my sensitive skin break out. It takes a few seconds to absorb: initially your face will look white and chalky, but it fades after a few minutes. I still feel the need to tack on bronzer, though. Overall, this is probably better in the long-run bc of the SPF, but I wish it had that flattering sheen that the other formula has.

I love this daily high SPF cream. I've been using this product for several years and am never even tempted to try another day cream. It absorbs quickly and leaves me feeling protected against the sun and environmental elements. There is no odor either which is a big plus for me. This product is something I simply cannot do without each morning!

White Cast

Quick Take: non-greasy, doesn't sting
I loved the SPF 35 sunscreen they used to make in this same line.
This is similar, and has a great smell and feel on the skin. It feels more like moisturizer than sunscreen, and absorbs nicely. It doesn't sting like other sunscreens I've tried. However, because of the high zinc content, it often leaves a white cast. Because of this I've had to decrease the amount I apply, which I think won't provide the advertised 40 SPF.
I hope they bring back the 35 SPF! That was truly a 5 star product!

i purchased this after sampling it at home from a free sample given to me from sephora. Its thick and feels nice but its pricy and i really need a lot to cover my face and the bottle is really small.

I've used sheiseido sunscreen for years, cause it has PA+++.But the blue bottle I used before is greasy, and the color is too white, looks totally out of natural. So this cream is exactly what I want! It's pretty light, not oil at all, and only change my skin tone a little bit. Hope sheiseido can make the spf value higher.

LOVE THIS SUNSCREEN, OH. MY. GOD. it's the only sunscreen I've put on that doesn't leave a bunch of shine in its wake. It absorbs well, does have a slight white-ish tint to it, but nothing terrible - in fact, for me, it helps even out my skin tone. Obviously it's not an actual primer but i find it works fantastic under makeup. Doesn't sweat off easily, but it's easy to wash off, and most importantly my skin always looks the same as it did before spending hours in the sun. Plus I live in nyc, where the summer air is filled with bus fumes and food vendor smoke, so it's nice psychological reassurance that it may help fend off oxidative pollutants and whatnot. love it!
