Amazing color and shine
-01.14.13
Quick Take: covers gray well, easy to use, has amazing color and shine
I have extremely thick, long hair so it takes 2 boxes to do my entire head. It is well worth it. I hate salon coloring because it always leaves my hair flat and one dimensional. My only complaint - it is out of stock!

Amazing Color!
-12.18.12
Quick Take: fabulous shine, odor-free, long-lasting color
I bought two boxes because I have super-thick hair. The color is wonderful and the shine is amazing. The thing that I liked most was that it has almost NO SMELL whatsoever. I want people to know that I colored my hair by the sight of it, not the smell. The color comes out to be a 6R in most other brands. Did I mention the SHINE?!?! I colored 8 weeks ago. It still has a fabulous shine and the color has barely faded. The girls in the salon all went wild for the color when I went in to get a haircut and my stylist gave me the side-eye becuase he had to admit that it wasn't his work. :)

Great product
-11.09.12
Quick Take: well worth the money
I've been using this product for a couple of years now and really like it. The color is true and lasts (I use a cleansing conditioner, not a shampoo) very well. I like the glossing serum too. I'm 60 years old and this product covers my gray very well and leaves my (curly) hair soft and manageable.

auburn
-10.30.12
I like the quality of this product and hence the four stars. 'Auburn' did not work well for me though - my gray roots became red and I should have expected it probably. Just a warning for ladies with naturally dark brown hair - you might want to mix this color with a shade of brown to cover your gray roots so that you do not end up with your roots red compared to the rest of your hair which is going to have just a hint of auburn!!!

I have used many boxed hair dyes, but this is by far the best! It gives my hair natural looking colour and shine. My favourite part about it would have to be the pequi oil treatment. It makes my hair incredibly soft!

Like it a lot
-10.12.12
Quick Take: easy to do at home
I'm 4 weeks into my color. At first, the color washed off a lot, I was trying to wash it every three days but for the first two weeks, it kept washing off. Now, my hair still has a red tint to it but it's more of a golden chestnut brown. I had dark brown hair before it. I do love my hair color and it does make your hair thicker, but for me, it tangles more now. So I give it four stars for that reason and more importantly because next time, I'm going to need 2 boxes of product since my hair will be longer by then. When I dyed it, it was about 4 inches below my shoulder, which I barely made it with.

No longer contains the glossing serum bottle
-09.04.12
I've been using this product for over a year. One of the things that made this a good value for me was the 0.3 oz bottle of pequi glossing serum. The bottle would last until I bought the next kit. The last kit I used did not contain the bottle, but a 0.1 oz sample-style packet. Too much for one application, yet difficult to save to use again.
Be aware, if you're counting on getting the pequi glossing serum.

Loved the color, but it didn't last
-07.20.12
Quick Take: gorgeous color, doesn't last
I have naturally dark brown hair that falls just to my elbows and I got one box. The product was easy to apply (I did manage to make a bit of a mess) but it really dried my hair out. The color did lighten my hair a little at first, but faded to an absolutely gorgeous mahogany, which was the color I've always wanted. Now, I've tried reds before and know they don't last long, but the color lasted about two weeks (I wash my hair about every other day) and now I'm back to my normal brown.
So in the end: don't expect this to dramatically lighten dark hair, but it does give a gorgeous red shine. Easy to use, but doesn't last long. I'll be buying another box before a wedding in August.

Luxeblend Creme Hair Color
-06.27.12
Quick Take: semi permanant, true color
Love this color!! However, this is NOT a permanent hair color. The box clearly states that is last through 28 shampoos. My hair is about mid back and thank goodness I ordered 2 boxes.

Quick Take: misleading
I was so excited about this purchase because of the reviews, but my hair color looks nothing like the box. Too dark. Next time I will try strawberry blonde to achieve the auburn I was looking for.

Best home haircolor EVER
-05.24.12
First, know what you're buying. This is ammonia-free haircolor and it CANNOT lighten your hair. Think of it as a lipstain sort of product -- it can either darken or not show up at all depending on the appropriateness of the shade you choose. I chose to use the Auburn color on top of my existing shade, which was closer to the brand's Strawberry Blonde shade. My results were very similar to the photo on the box and lasted for a few weeks, with gradual fading. NO red haircolor is going to last much longer if you are applying it to previously processed hair (mine had been highlighted and was relatively porous), so this was within my expectations and much cheaper than salon color. My experience with salon color was no better, and the ammonia-free color did no damage to my hair. I loved the pequi oil, but would encourage people who found that it makes their hair greasy to rub a few drops between their hands, lightly coat their palms, and then run their hands over the "ponytail" portion of their hair only (from the nape of the neck down). This stuff isn't necessary for your roots unless your hair is very, very dry and/or very damaged.
This haircolor will not work for you if your existing haircolor is dark brown or black, and it might be very bright if your existing haircolor is platinum or ash blonde. Note that the actual box advises you to stay within a couple of shades of your natural color. Also, I chose to snip a bit of hair from the underneath/middle and test the dye on it first. Ladies and gents, if you do not wish to screw up your entire head, sacrifice a few strands for a pre-test. That way, you can see what YOUR results will be like BEFORE you apply it to your entire head. I did, and I liked the color, so I went with it. If I hadn't liked the color, Sephora staff had assured me that I could return it even if the bottles were already opened and mixed. No risk, and definitely worth the extra step.
Also, if you have long and/or thick hair, you will do well to buy two kits. Use the first and then decide whether you need the second. I have longish AND thick hair, so I used almost all the product from both kits. At $60, that was still half-price from a salon trip for me, so I was okay with it... but do factor that in. If you don't use enough color for long/thick hair, your results will be uneven.
I loved this product and will absolutely purchase it again. I have no complaints and felt that I got exactly what I wanted. I also love that Sephora will let you return anything if you try it and don't like it. It's worth a try and SOOOOO much better than drugstore products.
Also, I have light eyebrows naturally, and found that the Anastasia brow gel in Brunette (also from Sephora) made a very good match to the Auburn color. I posted before-and-after photos, and the after photo shows me wearing the brow gel along with my usual makeup. :)

Skeptical at first...
-03.29.12
Let me first say that I miss Fekkai hair color very much!!! I just colored my hair for the first time today, it is much darker than I wanted, but of course this will fade. I do love the smell, so much that I bought the oil separately. Will use again.

Great DIY kit
-03.15.12
I had my hair professionally darkened for the winter from blonde to dark brown. Within one month of a professional, permanent job the color had completed faded to light brown. On a whim I bought this kit and I absolutely love the color. It's a rich, natural looking auburn. Hair is shiny and soft. I will definitely buy this again and get the color kit w/ mixing bowl this time around.

NOT auburn
-03.11.12
not even close to auburn. i have light brown hair and this made my hair a medium brown (maybe chestnut at best). after a few washes it has lightened to a light brown again, but not a bit of red tone whatsoever. i do not have a sephora locally and was not able to read reviews until after the fact. plus they did not have color swatches there.
however, it smelled nice even while coloring, the oil is FANTASTIC, and it was easy to use.

Not what I expected
-03.06.12
It was a pretty color, but more of the same brown red or red brown (medium) instead of a reddish auburn that I expected. It was way more brown. For me anyway.

Fabulous Color
-02.11.12
Quick Take: easy to apply, long lasting
My hairdresser knew I had plans to dye at home to save some money this winter. I decided to try this brand, and the results were fabulous. So great in fact that when I went back for my trim, my hairdresser asked me what shade/company I'd used! PS-It was about 2 and a 1/2 weeks since I'd dyed it.

For me, salon-quality results.
-02.11.12
This color is fantastic. I've been using it for the last 4 months. I have very thick, coarse, ash brown hair, about 50% gray in the front. I have never used drugstore color; I've always had a stylist do it. When my stylist moved out of the area, I started using this. For me, it's very close to the picture on the box. My hair looks and feels great right after coloring it. The scent is a little funky, but it goes away. I love the pequi oil treatment. I only shampoo twice a week, which cuts down on drying and fading. I redo this color every 5 weeks.
I went to buy this at my local Sephora today, and this was not on the shelf. An associate told me they would not be stocking this color in stores anymore. I really hope they don't discontinue it completely.
