Quick Take: easy to use
I am skeptical about buying products so when I bought this I wanted to see if it really works since all the previous reviews said it works. I have thin asian hair. I did noit find any difference in the volume of my hair. Though the product does make my hair feel smoother and a little softer. Overally, I don't think the product does much for volume.

Not an alternative

Quick Take: volumizing, shine, neutral scent
I got this in the hopes to become an alternative to another brand hair mask. The smell was not impressive, it wasn't revolting or pleaseing. Basically it was just ok. I have straight, soft, undamaged, and smooth hair. I only use a hair mask as a treat to my hair. During application I was annoyed because I had a good amount of product on my fingers. Although as I was applying the product, it felt like nothing was there and I felt like I needed to keep applying more after every reapplication. Though after I used this product my hair looked like it was fried from overuse of a hot blowdryer. But i also noticed that it did give my hair a shine. I also have to mention that it did also volumize my hair. Though I just think that I will stick to my old hair mask.

I have fine wavy shoulder length hair that is always flat , even just after styling.
After using Ojon Volume Advance for the first time, my hair is thicker, my curls are bouncier and shiny.
Seriously don't know how I went this long without this product!

I have long (mid-low back), wavy, colored hair. My hair is thin, with a very oily scalp and dry ends. I've used ojon treatment before, as well as volumizing conditioner and shampoo. I've strayed away from Ojon and noticed that my hair became dull and flat lately. I have a new routine now, which works great for my hair. I use the volumizing shampoo and conditioner (I wash my hair every other day), and once a week, I use detoxifying shampoo (Ojon), followed by the 2-minute miracle mask. Once a month, I use the ojon intensive treatment. I actually get compliments on my hair now (and I don't think that I have good hair at all). My scalp is less oily, my ends are not dry or brittle, and my long hair finally has volume! My hair remains wavy and my color is not stripped. The best part about this treatment: it only takes 2 minutes once a week and a little goes a long way! It's very easy to use. It rinses out without a problem for me. There is no "ojon/tobacco" smell that people complain about with the intensive mask. I recommend the whole Ojon volumizing line, but if you're going to try just one product, go for this one. As a bonus, this mask is good for your hair and uses natural ingredients, and good for the planet.
I use this product everywhere except my scalp and bangs. By the way, this is a better value than the conditioner because it will last way longer.

Quick Take: unworkable
I have been unhappy with Ojon products ever since they "improved" their formulas. I was very happy with their Shine and Protect formula for years, but every since they "improved" their line, I have been at a loss to replace that formula with something that works for my hair. This is the worst conditioner I have ever used. It just amazes me that this conditioner does EXACTLY the opposite of what it promises. Want limp, flat, lifeless hair? Here's your answer! First, this conditioner does not rinse out! You can rinse and rinse 'till the cows come home, and it's still there, over-softening and flatening your hair. The only way to remove it is to shampoo, (even very lightly) and then you are right back where you began, with hair that needs conditioning! I have tried every which way to work with this product, and have finally given up. This is going back to the store as soon as I can get over there. The only part of this line that has remained the same is the original greasy conditioner that you leave in overnight, if possible, then wash out. That one still works fairly well, but since the shampoos have changed and seem to be stronger, that conditioner is not as effective as it used to be. Their hair glosses and leave-in moisturizing creams aren't as good as the original ones, either. There was one in the Shine & Protect kit that I loved, but it's been "improved" and is now much too heavy for my hair even if I only use a smidgen. Either it has no effect or it heavily coats my hair, and the result is product build-up. Such as shame, as this used to be a wonderful line, and my hair never looked better with the original formula. I have one more formula in this line to try before finally giving up and switching to another line.

great mask for fine hair

Quick Take: easy to use, strengthening
I have long fine hair and am always looking for extra body and thickness. This mask definitely helped with the body and made my hair very soft. The scent is very herbal and doesn't bother me at all. I'll definitely be buying more of this in the future.

Works Great, Smells TERRIBLE

I always use an intensive treatment like this one twice a week because I love how soft and shiny it makes my hair. This hair mask is absolutely ideal for my hair. Genetics have not been kind to me: all the women in my family have fine, thin, limp hair that easily gets damaged. I'm so happy to have found a restorative treatment that not only repairs damage and makes my hair soft, smooth, strong, and shiny, but also gives me a major boost in volume! After I've used this product, even without using my usual volumizing styling products, I can see a difference in how much body my hair has and how much better it frames my face. This hair mask is very easy to use in the shower, it's fast-acting and you only have to leave it one for two minutes!
However, I do have one major complaint about this product that I felt I had to take off a star for: it smells absolutely awful! I'm not sure what "aromatic herbal" scent they were going for, but to me it has an unpleasant chemical smell that reminds me of the kind of thick brown paste I remember using in kindergarten. It smells so bad that after using this, I have to wash my hair again if I want to go out because I don't want that gross smell to linger on my hair. Because this product is so effective and so unique--a restorative hair mask and a volumizing treatment in one--I'll probably purchase it again. But I still think that for a price this expensive, they really ought to make more of an effort to make it smell better.

This product was only slightly better than the Volumizing Foam. My hair felt totally greasy afterward. If I use it as a mask and THEN wash and condition after it's not so bad. I just fail to see how anything so greasy can add volume?? I love other Ojon products like the Restorative Hair Treatment and the Dry Recovery Mist but their "Volumizing" products are disappointing at best.

Ojon changed the formula for this mask! I'm so disappointed. The first time I used it since buying this new formula, I thought I forgot to wash it out because my hair looked greasy and dull (I don't typically have greasy hair). I used it for the 2nd time today with the same results. The smell is way less appealing than the previous version. For $29.99 this does the opposite of what it says it should do to my hair; this is going back.
