I purchased this Satsuma Body Butter on sale for half the regular price. It was nice, the smell didn't bother me like some reviewers had commented, however it just didn't do very much for me. It almost seemed too thick to spread easily if I applied it to dry skin. I'd have to really work it for the product to absorb into my skin. I felt like I was pulling and tugging on my skin a lot, which I didn't like. This was my first body butter from Body Shop, and I ended up exchanging it for the Shea Butter formula, which I like better. It felt more moisturizing and smooth. It clearly says on the lid that Satsuma is for normal/dry skin and Shea is for very dry skin, so that's probably why I preffered the Shea. Especially for very dry areas like the backs of my hands, Shea performed much better than Satsuma. So I guess it doesn't really have to do with the scent, just check the lid to see if the formula is for normal or very dry skin to fit your needs.

Quick Take: absorbs quickly, scented, odd smell
So I wasn't sure what Satsuma was, so I suppose I shouldn't complain about the smell, lol. But it IS a little odd -- almost like the smell you get from the stick after eaten an orange popsicle. Not quite an orange smell, but not quite anything else. A little musky maybe. If used excessively, almost offensively so.
Anyway, the lotion itself is incredible. Goes on smooth, doesn't leave a sticky after effect. Hydrates like none other.
But I'm pretty sure mine melted during shipping -- because it was all to one side. Looked as if half of it was missing, not sure. Definitely not as nice as the picture. There was no "freshness" or "security" seal on it so I couldn't tell if that was just the way it was supposed to be or not.
Oh well. I got it cheaply and so I won't complain.

I love Satsuma. The body butter, the soap, pretty much anything it is added too. It is a very tangy, bold citrus with a similar feel to blood orange.

Quick Take: rich
The BEST scent for the body I've EVER used. If The Body Shop is going to change the scent to make it milder for people, PLEASE still keep this original scent. It's the only reason I've come to this site (to order it) and I know I'll use it forever and make it my PERSONAL SCENT.

Quick Take: scented, rich, heavily scented
I've really enjoyed using this body butter as my skin is super dry and this really calms and soothes my skin all day. However, I will not purchase the Satsuma again due to itssmell -- I like oranges but this was too strong for me and it lasted all day!! Which is what we all want, right?? But I wasn't crazy about the scent, my fault. But I kept it because it feels so good on and is neither greasy nor heavy.

This smells incredible and feels luxurious as you are putting it on. I purchased this to treat my skin to a bit of extra moisture during the winter months and it is exactly what I was looking for. My skin feels smooth and moisturized afterwards.

This is a product that one has to try for oneself to belive how amazing it is!! The scent is fantastic, the formula is lush and creamy, the packaging is adorable and it works at keeping your skin soft and smelling sweet!!! I get transported to paradise every time I use it!!

sadly, sephora doesn't carry the Strawberry Body Butter.
but i just started using the body shop's body butter and its soo moisturizing.
i had the impression that is was like thick location but its so nice and rich almost like ice cream.
i love its it small just like real strawberries.
a little goes a long way.

I can not express to you how delicious this juicy citrus smell is. It is sweet and tangy without being overpowering. My mouth literally waters whenever I use this body butter. It is very soft and smooth and a real skin quencher. love!

I can not stress enough how amazing this body butter is! The Satsuma smells just like freshly-peeled oranges. Only a little is needed and it makes my skin feel ridiculously soft. It always feels so indulgent whenever I put it on. My husband loves the scent and can't keep his hands off me after I use this stuff -- which could be a good or a bad thing, depending on how much mauling you feel like dealing with :-P .
