I use this on my lips at night, and especially following the whipped cherry fruit scrub :)
I find that if I put on a layer at night, I wake up to luscious, moisturized lips that are a perfect surface for even lip color application.

Even my husband uses this balm before bed at night! I love it, and a sheer layer is all it takes, so the pot of butter will last forever! There are minute particles (presumably of acai berry) in the mix, so don't be alarmed if you feel a small grit in an application. It's certainly not a detriment for me. Just use a thin layer on your fingers and don't gob it on and you should be good.

This is a really nice quality balm. It's not greasy or waxy. I like the idea of super fruits in it and its free of lots of chemicals. 3 stars because its great for maintaining not total repair of lips

Works ok as a lip balm - I asked for and was told this was a lip exfoliator but it works better as just a lip balm. Can't tell that it is an exfoliator. Not any better than other products I have tried that were less expensive.

I am going to give this product more stars than I think it deserves because some of my disappointment stems from my expectation that this was a true lip balm. After reading the fine print, I see that this is described as an elixir. I guess I assumed that, even though it is called Butter, it was basically a treatment balm type of product. Butter, balm or elixir, it does claim to moisturize, which is does not. The texture is unpleasant and gritty, which made me instantly think that I had purchased an exfoliating scrub by accident. Also, it just kind of sits on the top of your lips and never really absorbs. And, the gritty texture stays, making it unsuitable for wearing under lipstick or gloss. But, I still had hope that it might be a decent night treatment. Sadly, it's not. I stubbornly gave it a try for about a week, but I saw zero benefit and it's just plain unpleasant on the lips. I love Bite Beauty in general and the fact that all of their products are food grade. I also love the ingredients in this butter, but it simply did not work for me. As a last ditch effort, I gave it a whirl as a scrub, since that is what it seems to want to be, but it is not an effective exfoliator either. So, where does this product fit? I have no idea. I assume this must work for some people since it seems to be a good seller and has some positive reviews, but I am sadly not among that group. It's okay though, I will continue to purchase other Bite products (their Honey Lip Lacquers are divine), just not this butter.

I wanted to try a new lip product so after talking with a sales person, I bought this. I really tried to like it but after a week, it just wasn't working for me. It didn't moisturize at all even if I was applying a lot. It felt like it just stayed on top of my lips like a coating. I found myself having to re-apply very often. I gave them 2 stars because for the price, I expected more. I do love the packaging and the fact that it contains Acai and other super fruits. I had to return it, unfortunately, because it just didn't work for me.

My lips have suffered for over 8 years from drying, cracking, and peeling! I live in moist climate and drink water so the source of the problem is some what unknown. I used Burts Bees religiously but it only seemed to do the trick so long.Last year I tried using Sugar lip treatment which seemed great at first but also led to drying, cracking, and peeling. A skin care specialist at Sephora told me about the Bite Beauty line and I was instantly impressed. I purchased the Superfruit butter with nothing to loose.
This Product has been nothing but amazing, heeling, restoring, soft, gentle, and nourishing. It does not exfoliate although people seems to think it does and it is not just for night treatment...i use it all the time!
It has made a huge difference and is continuing to do so now on the 3rd week of usage.

Love how this gently exfoliates, smells great and is very gentle and moisturizing at the same time. I use it twice a day and my lips have not cracked or flaked all winter.

Yesterday my lips were a mess. Peeling, chapped, dry, hurting, embarassing. Applied this stuff before bed and I could feel it working the moment it touched my lips. Swear to God! I could tell it was different and I have used everything. Today my lips look better than anyone elses. Wish I had someone to kiss!!!!!

Love bite - tho' I wish the lipstick colors were better (always off just a bit) and this butter is the bomb. Keeps my lips soft and comfortable...great over some of the matte (read: drying) lipsticks I have. Will buy this product as long as they keep making it.

Bite is the only product I've had any success with on my old skin. I've always had very full lips but now when they get dry the look puckered and old. I use the bite gloss as well as this butter, they both feel good and hydrate some but wear off extremely quickly. I'd love to find something that works well so I won't be repurchasing. If you have good lip moisture and are just looking for a nice soft butter then I'd say this is one of the better ones I've used. Pleasant on, nice package, nice smell.

4 DIFFERENT FLAVORS

There are actually 4 different flavored Bite Superfruit Butters. I emailed sephora.com to figure out how to get the flavor I wanted (Cranberry) only to receive non-answers in reply. I went ahead and added 1 Superfruit Butter to my last order anyhow and an Acai flavored Butter arrived. There is an obvious oversight in the design of this product page as it is not possible to chose which flavor you want either here or at any point in the on-line order process. They don't sell Bite at my local Sephora store so it's on-line or nothing for me at the moment. I can understand why so many people have had allergic reactions to whatever flavored Butter they bought and it's a shame as one flavored Butter might work for them when another flavored Butter might not.
The Acai Superfruit Butter itself is less than impressive. The ingredient list is really wonderful (I'd like to give it 5 stars for that) but the grainy beads/fruit flecks mixed with the waxy texture (although there is no wax in the formula) is not to my liking. I didn't find it particularly moisturizing either. The smell is essentially non-existent and it goes on more or less colorless (fortunately the murky purplish color of the Butter does not show up on the lips). I'm going to return this and most likely won't get another since there's no way to get the flavor I want at present.

Quick Take: my new fave
Wish it was available in store, but I got it online. This is an awesome product. I am super picky about lip products and react to many things. I have been using the Perricone Lush Lips, which is no longer available through Sephora. This is a little thicker, which I wanted for winter, and is super moisturizing and stays on well. At first I was put off by the appearance and thought I had accidently ordered something that was more like an exfoliator, but I bravely dug in and I love it. It looks grainy, but it does not feel that way. It is velvety, smooth and luxurious. LOVE THIS.
The other product I now love for lips is the Josie Maran Argan balm. I tried the stick on first and thought it tasted bad. The balm in the little can is amazing. It seems pricey, but you get a ton of product and it will last a long time. It is too big to carry around, so I use the BITE when I need something smaller to take with me. But this Josie Maran balm is my other new FAVE. It is a little thicker still and perfect for winter. Stays on well and is very moisturizing.

With the season changing, I suffered a major allergic reaction to the current lip product I was using (kiehls lip gloss). I am a lip product junky and I needed to find something fast. I am lucky enough to be allergic to alot of stuff and I tend to stick with what works. This product was recommended to me because it has natural ingredients. I tried the sample in store and continued shopping to see if there were any immediate issues. After about an hour of shopping, I decided to purchase it. Unfortunately, by the end of the night, I started to have a reaction to it. I ended up returning it because of my allergy.
It has a nice flavor, a mild honey scent. I gave it one star because of my allergic reaction and I was unable to use the product fully.

I had originally purchased this in a kit a little while back and ended up loving it! When I ran out I reordered it only to have my order cancelled due to being permanently out of stock. I was instantly depressed and a week later even with the use of other products my lips became dry and cracked as heck! I'm a Sephora fanatic so while browsing lip balm products I noticed it was back in stock again and a course wasted no time placing my order. I'm so happy to have this back again! It's light, not greasy but powerful. It's like my lips are spoiled with this. It is a bit pricey but even with applying it a few times a day it lasted me almost 3 1/2 months so is worth the $$! Please never discontinue this product! Love it Love it LOVE IT!!

I always have one of these in my purse, and a spare by my bed because this is my holy grail of lip products. My lips get insanely dry and peel constantly without this. I've tried many, many cheaper lip balms and none of them actually improved my lip condition except this. I highly recommend it!
And another tip, in the winter when my lips get super dry, I use this under my lipstick and then put a coat of Dr. Lipp's lanolin over the top to protect them from wind burn, and my lips stay protected and moisturized for at least four hours at a time. Which for me is a long time since I bite my lips and lick them when idle without realizing it, and usually my lipstick doesn't last more than two hours.
