Dense and tacky
-04.18.13
Quick Take: scented
The lip screen is very tacky and dense. It is a literal drag on my lips. Although it has a very nice scent, it costs too much money for the outcome

Love this product, wish it was package differently

I love this lip balm! I really wish you could still find it in a tube. With all the germ transfer, I prefer not to stick my finger in the tub.

Protection not perfection
-10.20.12
Quick Take: scented, titanium dioxide-free physical sunscreen, imparts sheen
I bought this product because it offers physical protection from the sun (zinc oxide) without titanium oxide and does not have that generic sunscreen smell or taste. I had not worn sunscreen on my lips for years (yikes!) and can't say that I've noticed a difference from wearing this daily for the past few (hot & sunny) weeks. Except that it is a little drying. It does not 'hydrate' or 'soften' my lips. I put this on clean lips and within a few minutes my lips feel dry so I need balm on top of it.
The taste is strong, a heavy dose of toothpaste-like peppermint with a hint of sweet vanilla. Not my jam but better than generic sunscreen flavor for sure. It does not come out clear on my lips but several shades lighter than my natural lip color, imparting a whitish sheen. It's sheer not opaque though so it could be worse. That pretty much sums up this lip screen: it could be worse. So not exactly a ringing endorsement but I'm still using it until I find something better.
The product is hard & solid in the tub (not a gooey balm or bouncy mousse) and there is a lot of it. Should last for months although I've only been applying it once a day. The reason I only apply it once a day is because it's in a tub, which is my biggest gripe. Not ideal hygiene-wise! So I only use it first thing in the day when I'm fresh out of the shower and my hands are super clean. The formula would work great as a stick so it doesn't make any sense for them to have packaged it in a tub like this. Not on-the-go friendly at all. LAVANILA: PLEASE REPACKAGE! Not repurchasing as is. Going to look for a better tasting, more moisturizing, more clear-colored lip screen elsewhere. One in a tube not a tub.

What everyone needs!
-10.10.12
Quick Take: hydrating, scented
At first I didn't like this product because it was hard to get out, and it didn't hydrate my lips. However, after having it in my pocket for about half the day, it was soft and really hydrating for my lips. After about 30 minutes, I had hardly any fine lines! Also, the scent is amazing and subtle-exactly what I've been looking for! Everyone needs this product!

Hydrating,non-drying
-10.03.12
Quick Take: hydrating
I'm a big user of Burt's Bees lip balm but for outside I need more SPF than they offer and as it is important for me to use a natural SPF (chemical ones dry my lips out horribly) I was happy to come across this. It's very moisturizing and last pretty long, no burning from chemical sunscreens. I would give it 5 stars but I don't like that it comes in a pot, I think a stick is more sanitary than sticking my finger in it. I was at the beach and far from the restroom to wash my hands before applying so I just put the pot to my lips but can't do that once its almost finished. Please make this in a stick form for those of us who prefer it. It would then be a 5 star for me!! :)

GREAT for daily use
-09.01.12
Quick Take: hydrating, scented
As the daughter of a dermatologist, I know how important it is to use products with SPF, especially those with physical blockers such as zinc oxide. This product smells/tastes very similar to the original Burt's Bees lip balm and even provides about the same amount of hydration. As a lip balm junkie, this one goes EVERYWHERE with me, I use it as a base for lipsticks for the sun protection and it works great. Very hydrating and NEVER leaves white residue or a bad taste behind. I'm so impressed with this product that I recommended it on my dad's practice blog that I run; everyone deserves to know about this product.

Rich and moisturizing
-08.26.12
Always on the lookout for lip balms with SPF. This has a fabulous scent and is very rich and creamy. Unfortunately, I have a sensitivity to beeswax, which this contains. Now, it's my boyfriend's! (Everyone needs SPF after all).

easy to use, no weird taste
-07.27.12
This is a clean and easy product. It goes on clear and doesn't interfere with any lip stain you may be wearing. It tastes natural and doesn't have any weird flavors that you might associate with an SPF product. I used it on a trip were I got lots of sun and my lips were never dry or cracked with only occasional applications.

My go-to lipbalm
-07.23.12
I like the smell, taste and texture of this product. I don't really enjoy sticking my finger in it at random moments of the day. I'm glad it at least has an SPF of 30 and it doesn't taste horrible like you're being poisoned. The smell is nice as well. Go on clear.

Great SPF balm

I love this stuff. Great scent and feel with high SPF. Totally worth it. Also love that it's in a pot vs. a stick.

Love it!
-07.20.12
Quick Take: softening, smoothing, not very portable
I love this sunscreen. It feels great on and makes my Alaskan-dry lips super soft. I give it 4 stars because it's in a pot and not very practical for putting in my purse since I need clean fingers to use it. So I keep it in my bathroom and use it after washing my hands. I put it on under my lipstick and I'm out the door!

Perfect!!
-06.06.12
Quick Take: wonderful, moisturizing, not chalky, great sun protection!
Love this stuff! I have fair skin & red hair and an obvious freckle on my bottom lip so lip sunscreen has become an obsession of mine. This stuff is great: tastes good, light weight, good coverage, moisturizing, all the good stuff you need in an spf lip balm. I am going to order several more to have stashed in my purse, pool bag, beach bag, & by the the front door!

Amazing lip balm + screen!
-05.01.12
Quick Take: hydrating, scented
I have tried many, many lip balms that contain sunscreen and I've hated them all. They taste nasty and usually aren't very moisturizing. This product is absolutely amazing and completely worth the price. Because it has an inorganic sunscreen, zinc oxide, there is no nasty taste hidden behind the peppermint oil. This balm is very moisturizing, and I have found because it has peppermint oil can act as a little breath freshener. I have sensitive skin and my lips tend to be very dry and chapped most of the time yet this product is soothing and makes my lips feel great while providing sun protection.

Hydrating and Effective
-11.06.11
Quick Take: hydrating, scented
I love this lip screen! I have very fair skin and have been using SPF lip balm for quite some time. However, SPF often irritates my lips and it seems like most products additionally contain something to plump them which further irritates my lips. This lip balm has an high SPF, a little goes a long way, it is very hydrating, but not greasy, it smells and tastes delicious (no complaints), and it looks great. Best of all, it does not irritate my lips, it soothes them. Totally worth the price!

just ok
-11.06.11
When I first got my Healthy Lip Screen in the mail I was excited about the high spf because I was going to use it on my trip to Florida. However, when I opened it, it was hard and solid. I tried to move the product around with my finger thinking I needed to warm it up but it didn't budge. I almost took it back but after awhile it finally gave so I just kept it. It definitley isn't as rich as advertised but I do feel like I am doing some good for my lips with the spf. It also doesn't have much staying power but it does smell nice. I would recommend shopping around first before buying this product--there are better lip screens out there.

Excellent. Just what I was looking for
-08.12.11
Quick Take: hydrating, scented
I love that this lip screen is all natural. It is very moisturizing and smooth. I love the little bit of peppermint oil that LAVANILA added. Not too much, but just the right amount, at least for my taste.
Yes, having to use your finger to apply it is not as convenient as if it were in a stick. But that does not detract value from the product in my opinion. I kind of like the packaging actually.
It also seems it will last a very, very long time. Love this product very much :) I'm very happy I found it.

Love the idea, Hate the taste!
-08.08.11
I have yet to find a lip sunblock that is high on SPF sans the bad taste! The only one closest is the Fusion balms but those only come with 15 SPF. I took this right back!
