I love the idea of lip stains and have bought many. They are great for older lips as they feather less. This one was disappointingly "thin" in its color although it was strongly recommended by the staff. It almost seemed a bit dry on opening as if it had been opened a long time ( though it had not)

I was so excited when I found this lip stain and balm, but had it for a total of 8 hours before it broke. The balm does not retract making it incredibly delicate. Mine broke on the first day. I did love the berry color but it definitely wasn't long lasting. I returned this item and for a dollar more I bought an incredible Nars lipstick!

Lipstick broke - not worth the money

I bought this product in Berry and loved it for the first week, untill the lipstick part broke off. The felt pen adds good color but dries out my lips, but once I add the lip balm on top of that my lips had great color and were very moisturized. Without the lip balm part this lipstain was not up to par and not worth the money.
I returned it and went with Stilla lip and cheek stain (pomegranate) - favorite lip stain product to far!

Quick Take: longlasting, buildable, won't dry out lips
I love this stain. You can build up the color by letting it dry and reapply. This lasts all day and does not dry out my lips which is huge to me. I hate looking washed out and I know that as long as I've applied this I will have some color to me. Perfect for holiday times with all the parties, your gloss/lipstick might come off, but this'll still be there.

Very disappointed with purchase. I thought for my first lip stain i'd try smashbox. Waste of money. The lip stain doesn't last long on lips. After drinking my morning coffee it is completely gone from my lips.

I love the concept, the color and the way the color lasts, but unfortunately the pen dries out too soon. Mine only lasted a few weeks. That's a lot of money to shell out for such a short use.

Not as drying as most lip stains. Good quality balm on the back end (though it wears very well with nothing but clear chapstick over top). Got lots of compliments on the color and one coworker asked "How does that stay on all day?". Eager to try the other colors.

Quick Take: layerable, vibrant
Got it in Petal, average felt tip stain. the color is really nice and vibrant, and its super easy to layer if you want a darker color. lasts a decent amount of time if your not eating or drinking anything. would definitely buy again.

I bought this in both Berry and Sangria and loved the product so much. The colors are amazing and I felt they were long lasting. Unfortunately, it dries out so quickly that after no more than a month I had to throw them away. I really wish Smashbox would redo this product so that it lasted longer. At this point I will not purchase it again.

While better than most long-lasting lip stains, this still doesn't wear as well as it should. The only way for this to be all-day full coverage color would be to not talk, drink, or eat all day.

Great Color But Marker Doesn't Work

I'm pretty bummed about this one. The color is perfect and I adore it but, unfortunately, I have no way of actually getting the color onto my lips. I just bought this a few days ago and, from the moment I opened it, I couldn't get the felt marker tip to transfer any stain onto my lips. I suppose it's dry and not fully saturated with the stain. I also purchased this product in the Cinnamon color and that one works wonderfully but this one totally fails. I wish they'd make a little bottle with a brush applicator like benetint or a roll-on ball applicator or something. I'll give it a few more days and see if it will saturate. If not, I'm definitely returning it.

lip stain is great as well as color seal balm but the color seal balm fell off after 2 usage and can't use it anymore. can you replace this. i just bought it 2 weeks ago but can't find my receipt.

I didn't like this at all. while the color was intense and vivid, it only lasts a couple of hours tops before it starts to fade away. it also dries the lips a lot, even though it includes a lip balm. I returned this because I couldn't stand the quality.

Love this lip stain. I have the Cinnamon color and it is a dark red-brown on me. The stain lasts a long time, but is a little drying. The balm is a nice color and feel, but it seems to undermine the lasting power of the stain. My only real complaint is that I've bought this twice, and both times the balm stick has broken off.

this stain ROCKS! make sure your lips are bone dry and free of any loose skin. the stain glides on with perfection and the color can be layered: light, medium, dark - INTENSE.
this particular color needs a bit more pigment to be seen: you need to layer a lot more on...so it's not really NUDE per se...it's an earth tone...the other shade is CINNAMON, which may have more red with brown...I want to try that shade next!!! Along with the others - it's an amazing stain!!!
