First, when I sprayed this I noticed the smell, like all Alterna products, is heavenly!!! A light, "green" scent- I can't explain but it's great. I did notice a little shine, but it's not overt. At first, I was a little disappointed- but then I got compliments on how my hair looked that day. I had it in an updo and it just seemed to add something to it...tamed the frizz and added a little shine, made my style look great- and apparently others noticed, too! So I will continue using and buying!

Quick Take: lightweight
I have dry curly hair I thought this would give it some shine and polish, but it really doesn't do too much if you are a women of color. The alterna bamboo oil mist is much much better. The shine mist made my hair a little softer and left a nice scent. That's all I can really say about this product. Their really wasn't much of a shine.

This product is lightweight and non-greasy, a claim that many put forth, but in this case is actually true. It smells divine, helps with frizz, has none of the drying/dangerous chemicals others have, and has uv protection. The best shine spray I have tried, and I have tried a lot!

I received a sample of this product in a 500-point VIB perk and am completely in love with it. After using it for the first time, I received two compliments on my hair from friends within the same day! One of my friends even said, "I'm not sure what you're doing with your hairs differently today, but it is definitely working." For a girl with typically dull and damaged hair this is high praise. I will definitely be buying a full size of this wonderful product.

absolutely love this and will keep on buying it until it dies. it makes your hair SOOO shiny, also was pleased and surprised that it helped to de-frizz and just generally "tame" my hair. i didnt think something so light would have the power to do that. it's VERY light feeling, and will do all of these things without making your hair look greasy. it keeps your hair smelling delicious as if you just washed it. the smell is very earthy, but not woodsy, still very feminine . love this! i even went out and got the cream after liking this so much. they both provide shine and defrizz, but the mist is a bit better at adding shine and the cream is a bit better at defrizzing. a little goes a long way!

Absolutely love this shine spray, doesnt weigh my hair down or make it greasy looking and I have very fine hair so Thats important to me. I use it before I blow dry and after as a finishing spray....along with bumble and bumble product and pureolgy texture twist. Got it as a sample and now Im addicted!!

Meh. There's really nothing wrong with it (except that it contains alcohol and smells like something good that got overcooked), but there's also really nothing all that great about it. The spray makes your hair shiny. So do other products. The shine shampoo is quite nice though.

I have thick, wavy, damaged (from dying so much), and somewhat dry hair. I received a sample of this product and I will definitely purchase the full size bottle because it made me hair look, feel, and smell amazing! I spray it on my hair (I only need about 4 sprays) after it's dried and it makes my hair feel so soft and smell so good. Some people complain about the scent, which is understandable because if you spray too much it will be overpowering. I personally think it's an amazing product, but I'm giving it four stars because the smell is very strong (not a problem for me, but for others perhaps) and the price is a bit much. However, considering the price of other hair products, I believe this is worth it! Hope this helps :)

incredible shine, silky smooth hair

I love this product, it makes my dry hair unbelievable shiny and for the first time I get compliments on healthy looking hair. It also adds a smooth and silky touch to it and does not weigh my hair down. The scent is light and disappears quickly, so that it does not interfere with my perfume. This is a keeper.

Quick Take: easy to use, smells terrible
If your only concern is end result then you'll be fine, it does deliver what it claims in the short term. For me the smell was disagreeable and much too strong. Each product has some fragrance that usually fades quickly but this was like an over applied perfume and hung around strong, ALL DAY. Also don't be fooled by the ingredients list here, they don't always include everything. From the Alterna website the 2nd ingredient is SD Alcohol 40, this allows the liquid product to evaporate while leaving behind the silicones and other shine enhancing ingredients. I fear that it will be drying with continued use, and dry, damaged hair was the reason I needed a shine spray in the first place.
