Quick Take: gradual, long lasting
I reviewed this product shortly after I purchased it last summer, and loved it then (aside from small things). I still have the SAME bottle of bronze that I have been using sparingly before special occasions to get a sun-kissed glow. I have found that it goes further if you squeeze some out in the center of your palm, rub between both hands and then massage into the area you're applying it to. I am not sure what another reviewer mentioned about there being sparkles? There are absolutely no 'sparkles' in this product... It is a tan translucent gel (much like hair gel) for your skin. It has never caused me any breakouts despite my sensitive skin, and I have never been bothered by the smell - in fact I quite like the smell, it reminds me of the beach. Again, my only advice is to apply sparingly and evenly, and give yourself plenty of time to thoroughly massage it into your skin so you don't miss areas. Also wouldn't advise going to bed right after application because it can rub off on your sheets. But I would recommend leaving it on for several hours before rinsing it off.. for the best glow.

Quick Take: disappointing
I sort of feel like this leaves the bronzer smell, but doesn't change your color. I was looking for something that would give a sun kissed glow, but I used this a few times, and find that it didn't really change my very white office sitting skin. Not sure if I didn't use enough or what, but I was disappointed

This product is amazing! I have never found a product that does not make me orange because I am so white. It has the best tan I have ever had and it looks so natural!!!! So worth the cost ...Oh and it does not smell like the other tanners do :)

Quick Take: shimmery
I REALLY wanted to love this product because the color it produced was a nice golden glow. I am normally very pale, as in sometimes I can't find any foundation in Sephora that is light enough for my color, but I had to be tan in 1 week for a performance. The color wasn't blotchy, streaky, or orange. However, this is honestly the only good thing I have to say about this product. Here are the negatives-
-The main one for me, which I know not everyone will have a problem with, is that it made me break out in welts. I have sensitive skin (but not overly-sensitive), and the sparkles in the product irritated my skin so badly that I still have red scars on my back from the scratching. I haven't changed my soap/detergent/etc., and after discontinuing the product for a week, I have confirmed it was the tanner.
-The size of the bottle for the price is much too small. After using it for a week for 4 days all over my body, I was almost finished with the bottle. St.Tropez comes with twice the amount of product for $10 more.
-The color fades too quickly. Of course after I showered it was a bit lighter, but after I stopped using the product I was pale as could be less than a week later.
-The smell. Personally, smells don't bother me too much, so I didn't really care about the smell. But, if you're sensitive to that type of thing, be aware that it doesn't smell pleasant. Sort of like baby oil and rotten bananas. It's not strong, but you will be able to smell it for a couple of hours.

I read the reviews for this product, which made me think I'd be tanned at least within 5-6 hours. But this was not the case. I don't think it's worth the money. I'll stick with Jergen's Natural Glow - works better for 1/4 the price.

I hate how long I have to wear stinky sunless lotion toget results. This one really does work in a flash. One application and you are good for a week or two. Anymore than 1 application you get a bit orangy.

This self-tanner is by far the best I've ever tried! Before purchasing this product I read all the reviews and couldn't believe that a self-tanner could possibly work as well as reviewers were saying. I used to go tanning all the time, but have recently vowed to never step into a tanning bed again in order to protect my skin. Since then I have been searching for self-tanners that would give me natural-looking color for my skin tone that looks like it was from the sun instead of from a bottle. I have tried so many self-tanners in the past and have had horrible experiences. I have fair skin, and most tanners turn my skin orange, are uneven, or make me breakout. This tanner is the complete opposite. The color is so unbelievably natural, even if you have fair skin. No orange-ness AT ALL. It also lasts a long time. The bottle is a kind of small, but you don't really need to apply it every 2 days like the label says. Even though I have no complaints about this product, there are a few things to be aware of: the label says that the color develops within 30 minutes. This was not the case for me. I applied this gel after the shower and anxiously waited half an hour before looking in the mirror again and I didn't notice much difference in the color of my skin. I was really discouraged by this and went about my business for the day. A few hours later I looked in the mirror again and was AMAZED! The color had developed into a nice golden shade and looked so amazing and even. As long as you apply this gel evenly, exfoliate and moisturize dry spots beforehand (such as knees, ankles, elbows) you will never use another self-tanner again! Simply amazing!

Obviously a bit pricey but I'd say it's worth it, without a doubt. I tan well in the sun normally but the past few years I've been applying copious sunscreen to protect my skin. My legs have very visible pores and cheap tanner usually gets absorbed into these pores, not to mention the orange color. This Lancome tanner was amazing-no streaks, no orange, no spots. And I've tried MANY tanners. It also smelled very nice!

This self-tanner is my favorite for my face! It works everywhere else as well, (I like St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse for the rest of my body because it's really intense) but this tanner gives you a very natural beautiful glow- its even and doesn't clump up when you rub it on. I don't write reviews often, (Even though I am a VIB and buy often) but I don't think there are enough reviews on here for this self-tanner! I have acne-prone skin and this has never caused any irritation or breakouts. I definitely get more compliments when I've been using this! It's a must-have for every woman who wants to glow! xoxo

This stuff absolutely rocks! You do go through it pretty fast though, and be sure to rub it in EXTREMELY well, otherwise you might wake up the next day and find that there are dark streaks where you did not rub it in successfully. If you stop at a certain area and miss a spot, that will show too - it is fixable though. The color of this is great, it is gentle and not greasy and will work on your face. It does come off on white sheets, however, if you decide to put it on before you go to bed. Overall, great product!!

This is the best self tanner I have EVER tried, and unfortunately I have tried so many over the years. I have been on a mission to find the perfect self tanner ever since I was a teen. I wish I found this sooner! before this, I put up with orange color, streaks, nasty lingering scents, even a tanner that turned me green! I did all this in my attempt to find a good self tanner. This isnt perfect though, my only complaint about this is that its a littlle sticky when you are trying to blend it in. Other than that, Its perfect. If this was a cream instead of a gel, it would literally be the PERFECT self tan. This stuff makes you so GOLDEN not orange, its so good that I even trust it by putting it on my face! This has made it so I could stop purchasing the expensive face tanner I was using before (Kate Somerville face wipes, awesome but not for $50) So now im saving money by just using one tube for face and body. Love it! try it, it wont disappoint

Love this, it lives up to the reviews. I am a newbie to self tanners and this was pretty fool proof. I applied it wearing gloves to avoid any lasting color on my hands. That worked fine. I also put moisturizer on my feet to avoid odd streaks down there. Rubbed it in good like other reviews advised and voila, great color without sweating in the sun! I may not tan nearly as much in the sun ever again, very natural color. No weirdness as it wears off either.

Seriously--I am as pale as can be...tried gradual tanners with little success (takes too long/orange after a few days) and this stuff has changed my lilly white legs and arms to glowing and tan in a day (2 days is best). Try it, you have nothing to lose here.

Quick Take: use on face
I used to use the Lancome flash bronze oil-free self-tanner for the face... Now I'm switching to this! You get double the amount for the same price and it the color lasts longer! Plus, it didn't make my skin breakout as many MANY otherwise great facial products do. In fact, I found it a bit drying on my face and so far my skin has been better than with the same product from Lancome that is made specifically for the face. Love it!

I read the excellent reviews & fully expected this not to work. In my experience, beauty products never work as well for me as they do for others. I’ve tried a decent amount of self tanners & have never had very good results. I usually end up orange, streaky or both and am tempted to get my tan from sunbathing or a tanning bed. My skin is pretty light, but I do develop a good natural tan in the sun. I was still very pale when using this. I exfoliated with Bliss Salt Scrub and then moisturized. I waited about 15 minutes after moisturizing and then applied the self tanner. I followed the instructions on the label and did knees, elbows, ankles last. The color was dark as the tanner went on & got lighter as I rubbed it in. Then I waited the 30 minutes as stated on the packaging for color to appear and saw nothing. I was sad – I wanted my tan. Then about 1.5 hours later I looked in the mirror and my tan had appeared. The color is amazing, bronzy and glowing. No dark spots, orange, or streaks, just completely natural. I never write reviews after a first use, but this was so good I had to share.

This product does not have that horrible smell that all other sunless tanners so. You can see the results right away and it does not streak. Kind of expensive, but worth the money if you're tired of other stinky tanners and streaks.

I don't give out five star ratings lightly. I have been a veteran and frequent victim of self tanners for many years, and have used so many I couldn't possibly recall them all. This delivers the most natural color I have ever had, is incredibly easy to apply, dries FAST, and absolutely does not transfer on to clothes or anything else. This is the only self tanner i ever tired that I put on in the moring, threw on a white top, and went out for the day fully confident it would not get on anything. Unlike LORAC's new product I also recently tried that really has a lot of added tint to it, this one is so sheer and so fast drying that there are no worries about it transferring. You will know it's different from those other tinted formulas as soon as you apply it.
There is no mess so unlike other tanners I don't dread the idea of putting it on. I don't have to stand around and wait for it to dry before I get dressed. The only things I disagree with is the ability to tell where it goes - even with the dark tint, it disappeared into my skin and I couldn't really tell where I was putting it, and I didn't see an instant glow with color developing in a half hour. And though I am very fair, I didn't see any color change until hours later, when I lookedi in the mirror and said wow! what a nice tan I have.
Perhaps the fact that it dries easily made it feel a little drying, however, a bit of moisturizer afterwards fixed that. It smells more like a high end department store cosmetic rather than a self tanner. But the mark of a great self tanner is one that lasts - six days so far - and does not fade off in horrible patches or turn orange. This one turns a deeper shade of bronze and I see no signs of patchy, splotchy fading or discoloring that has plagued me with other self tanners before this. Also, i have extremely sensitive skin and this didn't irritate it.
All in all a great product, one that I will continue to use. I tried their oil-free face product as well and am not as sure about that.

This stuff is the absolute best! I've gotten so many compliments on how tan I look. I'm pretty tan all year round due to bronzers and monthly tanning sessions so I have a natural looking tan.. not orangey.. and this stuff blends right in! It looks TAN, not orange and blotchy! People say they can't even tell I'm wearing a self tanner after I say I'm wearing a Lancome self tanner!
