Urban Decay Melt Down Makeup Remover

What it is:A nourishing and effective makeup remover. What it does:This makeup remover can take off Urban Decay's longest-lasting products, and it's good for your skin too. Sea Fan Extract combats inflammation, while beta carotene (a source of Vitamin A) and Gatuline In-Tense (harvested from the South African Rain Forest Peekabo plant) revitalize collagen production. Cranberry and raspberry seed oils, along with kukui nut and oat oil, moisturize and replenish. The squeeze tube is easy to use and small enough to take on an airplane. What else you need to know: This gel is non-greasy so you don't have to wash off any residue after you use it, and the light fragrance is uplifting but never obtrusive.

Urban Decay Melt Down Makeup Remover
-05.06.13
I bought this to help remove the layers of mascara that I apply everyday because regular face wash was not cutting it. It removed the mascara very well and I found it also works well at removing those long lasting lipsticks that you can't seem to remove no matter how much you scrub. I used to have makeup residue leftover but not with UD Melt Down. The only complaint is that it feels slightly greasy after but other than that, it does the job!

Gentle but does the trick
-04.25.13
Quick Take: nourishing, calming
The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because I still have to swipe a q-tip with a heavy duty liquid makeup remover for remaining traces. But for the overall makeup removal, this is really gentle keeps my skin and eyelashes soft. It's cheaper than Kate Somerville's makeup remover, but just as good. If you're still using liquid eye makeup remover, switch to gels - they are better for your skin and you'll feel it.

Very very very thankful for urban decay
-03.29.13
Can't be more delighted with that. I have a very sensitive skin and this one just removes make up pretty much fabulously as it also doesn't do any harm. Very very nice

Works
-03.26.13
Literally melts makeup. I use a bit of warm water and no more cotton pads. Wash it off, my eyes don't burn anymore and makeup gone. Thank you Urban Decay♥

What I've been looking for!!!
-03.11.13
Quick Take: nourishing, calming, creamy, moisturizing, non-greasy
I bought this product after reading all the rave reviews about it. It lives up to the hype!! Urban Decay has yet to let me down. Their products are high quality (and some are high $$$ but you get what you pay for!!). I used to use a make up remover wipe you can find at any pharmacy/grocery store. I felt like I was wasting my money because I didn't need the entire wipe, but they were hard to reuse because they would dry out.
With UD Melt Down I spread a thin layer on my face and a little extra on my eyelashes to really get the mascara, then wipe it all off with a cotton ball. A little really does go a long way! Some people complain about the smell but it really doesn't bother me that much. My face is incredibly smooth and moisturized afterward. I use it as soon as I get home from the office. I don't like to leave make up on my face all day because I'm worried of clogging pores. When I wake up in the morning my face is just as smooth and soft as it was when I took off my makeup. It isn't greasy at all as long as you don't use too much!! Remember, as with all UD products a little goes a long way!!

Too heavily fragrenced
-03.11.13
Quick Take: light non greasy texture, too smelly, easy eye make up removal
Like the consistancy of the product and it works well, however the product is overly fragrenced. I work in skin care and I know it is very important to keep fragrenced products off the eye area and this emr would be perfect if that was not a factor.

Disappointing.
-02.10.13
I luv all urban decay ive had in the past so i thought this would b great. It is the worst remover ive ever used, including the discount store brands. It leaves black around my eyes, doesnt o on well, gets in my eyes and on contacts and leaves an oil film. It wont go on if tthe face is wet already or even damp. I wasted way too much money on a product that does not work.

DOES NOT WORK
-02.08.13
you'd think that urban decay would come out with an eyeliner that will take off their 24/7 liners, but this remover does not work at all. so disappointing.

Smells heavenly but didn't perform
-02.08.13
Wouldn't even remove my drugstore waterproof mascara. Messy to use and too expensive for the poor performance.

Doesn't remove all makeup
-01.26.13
This stuff is weird. It takes off like, *almost* all your makeup, but not all. It leaves behind trails of eye makeup and foundation. It's hard to see what's still there when it's not being wiped off, so I think I prefer wipes. However, this stuff is great for waterproof mascara. I would leave it on about a minute or so and then wipe off.. Voila! Even waterproof mascara is gone :)

-01.24.13
As soon as I tried this product I was sold! Not only does it gently wipe away all of that dark eye make up but it's gentle on the skin and promotes Collogen production!

It works....but
-12.29.12
I really like how this makeup remover gets the job done. I don't have overly sensitive eyes, but this stung. The smell is also offensive to me. So, I use it because it does a fantastic job removing my make-up, but unfortunately has a couple side issues that will keep me from purchasing it again.

I wanted to like this...I really did. But the smell was too unpleasant. It did take off the mascara , and I gave it a second try...but just had to return it..sigh

Not a miracle
-12.17.12
While I liked the fact that this was very gentle and didn't feel greasy on my already oily skin, I wasn't impressed with how long it takes to work nor with the amount of product that I had to use to remove the waterproof liner and gel.
In addition, out of curiosity, I tried to use it to remove some lipstick (KVD Liquid) stains that had occurred. (Don't ask me HOW I did it, just know that I am amazingly klutzy). Unfortunately it did not do much to lessen the stains from this product and in fact, good old soap and water is what took it off.
Seriously, though, like I said, I was happy with how gentle it was on my eyes, at the fact that it did eventually remove all the liner/primer/makeup that I had but I don't think it's a good trade-off for the cost when looking at how much you have to use to achieve the removal.

Love it; but some stinging
-12.16.12
I LOVE this creamy remover; I take a small dab and place on each eyelid/lashline, and just smooth around until I feel the mascara has melted away. Can use a cotton ball, pad, or a simple tissue to wipe away, then do a few more passes with cleaner parts of the tissue (pad/ball), and it looks like you've been make-up - free all day. Gets the liquid pen liner, all the mascara, and all the shadows, and, if I have enough clean space on my tissue, my UD brow corrector, too. Better yet, it smells like hyacinths, my very favorite flower.
I'm just surprised by how widely different camps there are on the irritating/non-irritating issue. When it gets into my eyes, the product is very irritating, though only for a short time. I will have to debate about buying again ; between the eye irritation and the small size, it's a tough call, much as I love how it works and smells.

This product literally melts makeup away. Our eye area is one of our most sensitive area and this product works great. I don't have to rub hard or tug hard to remove eye makeup even if its water proof. Highly recommended.

The BEST!!!
-11.22.12
My favorite makeup remover! I like the fact that it has a light lotion feel. Not oily or liquidy that would just soak up in a cotton ball. Very easy on the eyes and removes even the most toughest to remove eyeliners/mascara out there. Just a small dab goes a long way. Went through one of these in 8 months. Definitely lasts a long time.
