Quick Take: long wearing, great lavender scent rich color
This is the best lipstick and a fantastic red with slightly blue undertones. It has a fabulous and subtle lavender scent which makes me even more excited to wear it. It has staying power - stayed pretty true for 8 hours and then I put gloss on at the end of the day and it had a really pretty look even then!

Quick Take: a bit drying
I've tried so many lipsticks looking for that elusive perfect color and I think I may have found it. The color is soft with a subtle shimmer and it looks neutral on me. However, I agree with other reviewers that the lipstick is drying, yet I would purchase it again for the color alone.

I love this lipstick!! I use it under NARS' lipgloss in Greek Holiday to give my lips a nice summery, sexy shimmer. I like to use a lipbalm before layering on the lipstick, only because it can get a little dry when used alone.

I haven't used lipstick for a while now. I am an older woman, and most lipsticks didn't stay within my lip line, were sticky in texture and I could never find a color that looked right. NARS Afghan Red is a perfect color for me, and when I tried it, it went on smoothly and didn't melt over the edge of my lips. It feels light and nourishing. I can use lipstick again!
