Quick Take: defining
I bought this mascara looking for a good quality waterproof one. As soon as I put it on, it feels itchy, leaves racoon eyes and I've even lost some lashes due to this. It does look good once you put it on but I has done a number to my lashes. Not good.

I liked this mascara. I would say it is waterproof but because of my oily eyes it tends to smudge sometimes. But overall, it's decent.

Quick Take: volumizing, defining, lengthening
This was my go-to mascara for the past few years -- I absolutely love it. Great volume, length, and definition. I have not had any issues with clumping or application as other reviewers have mentioned. What I really love about this mascara is the fact that is does not flake off and stick to my contacts like Dior Show unfortunately does. I went to reorder this yesterday and was disappointed to find it unavailable online or in my local store. Hoping it hasn't been discontinued!

Like others have said, this takes some getting used to. The product is quite thick, and you should try to limit how much product gets on the brush before you apply. If you take your time you can achieve a dramatic look. I got this in the darkest black available and was not disappointed with the color. It's too hard to find a jet black.. 4 stars because it takes a little bit of patience and practice to maximize the product's potential.

I had high expectations for this mascara, but sadly was quite disappointed. The mascara is thick and seriously clumps lashes. The only plus to this mascara is that it is very long-lasting and stays on for hours and certainly through workouts, etc. However, I would not recommend this product because of the extreme clumping, especially considering the price.

Definition: less than stellar. okay, I guess.
Volume: none.
When I put this mascara on, basically all it did was turn my lashes colored and waterproof. Actually, I think my lashes looked better without it...
Fantastic color and fantastic waterproofing (seriously, I think it's the best I've encountered) but it did absolutely nothing for the aesthetics of my lashes.

I found this very hard to work with. It made my lashes very clumpy, not in the cute way. I returned it. I think this mascara might work a little better when you've had it for a while & it's kind of dried out? But for the price not worth it.

I have been searching for my perfect mascara and this is it! LOVE the color - plum, which is definitely noticeable and it is absolutely waterproof. You can choose how defined and dramatic your lases are because this is buildable. Plan on buying this in violet also. Yes, it takes a good make-up remover to remove but is worth the effort, especially if you have watery eyes.

My eyelashes are very short and thin and need to wear waterproof mascara b/c it doesn't weigh my lashes down like regular mascara. I used to use Lancome but the one I liked was disconitnued and haven't found another one of theirs to replace it. Tried so many brands but now this YSL is my favorite. My lashes look longer and fuller without the mascara clumping or running. And it stays on all day. A winner!

It's the first time I am trying this mascara and I am still familiarizing with the product. I must say, I like that the texture of the mascara seems light and won't probably become very lumpy... the shape of the brush created a criss-cross effect on your lashes... very pretty and dramatic effect, but that's what takes a bit of adjusting to. At first, I would easily smear on my eyelids during application...It does not lengthen the lashes as much as structures and defines them...

I went into a Sephora store looking to replace the Tarte Lash-stain that used to be my go-to product for marathon-work days. I have always had a problem keeping mascara in place as I work really long hours and have oily skin. But this mascara is amazing! It stained in place all day long with no smudge and no flake and make my lashes look longer and fuller. Love it! I have finally found my new go-to mascara!!!

I've always used Dior and Benefit's mascaras but got this YSL because I wanted waterproof... I absolutely love it!!! The only thing is that it won't come off, I've tried two different eye makeup removers that left the mascara on, so I bought Sephora's waterproof eye makeup remover and it removed as it should.

This is by far the best mascara I've ever used. To those who say they've had trouble taking it off... welcome to the world of waterproof mascara! For easy removal, try a lash primer and a better makeup remover. It really shouldn't be so hard!

once an addicted ysl mascara user, their recent 'upgrade' to the spiral wand was not a change for the better. the brush used to separate lashes making them fuller and longer. now, all the spiral brush does is create spider eyes that stick.

I have thin, stick straight, Asian eyelashes. I really like this mascara. It does not clump at all, and lengthens my little lashes. Really enhances my eye makeup and has been my favorite mascara so far. It has a scent to it, but you won't be able to smell it after application. My 2nd tube has been lasting me a lot longer than my 1st one. Its been two months now, and I wear it every single day. I go to school and work, so for 7 days a week, usually 8+ hours, this mascara stays on and keeps its curl. I love it. Be careful when removing this mascara, as I find that a lash or two fell off when I rubbed my make up remover too hard. I will buy another one once my 2nd starts to dry up. The overall packaging is very nice. I like how gold and shiny it is, because I don't have to rummage through the black hole that is my make up bag to find my black mascara. Anyway, overall, I love this mascara. It does the job with exceptional quality.
