Quick Take: waterproof, smudgable, long wearing
I have tried them all from drugstore to high end. I was looking for a pencil that went on without tugging or pulling on the eyelid. This pencil is the best for applying smoothly without alot of effort. There is no flaking and it does not come off until you take it off with eye remover. It is extremely black.

Quick Take: smudgable, long wearing
I am very close to use up my second pencil. The texture is very buttery, and smudgable which I really like, especially if you like to do smokey eye. My favorite color, and the only color I have used so far is ultramarine. You will like this color if you are look for something that looks like black from far, but you will noticed it is actually dark blue when you get closer.

I have number 3, love the color for hazel eyes but really doesn't stay put, maybe it's my extremely oily skin.. Either way I will buy again as I find them all to be the same..

Quick Take: worth it
fab color (emerald green-turq)). goes on easily and can be corrected or smudged for a while. lasts all day (16 hrs) except for a little movement at the outer corner towards the end of the day. i am very happy with this product.

I really wanted to love it! First, the color was a little disappointment - although that's the risk you take when you order online without seeing in person - its more of a bluish purple than burgundy. I've had a hard time finding a true burgundy liner.
Second, it is pretty soft - I've had to sharpen it between use on each eye because the tip wears down so quickly. A few times after I've sharpened it, the tip just breaks off and I lose a small piece and I hate to waste product.
Sadly, I won't reorder.

I'll never need another eyeliner!

This was my first ysl product and I'll never buy another eyeliner! I just moved to Houston where the weather is humid, hot, rainy, and everywhere the a/c is cranked up to the max no matter the season just to dry out the air some. Needless to say I had to change all my makeup to accomodate. This eyeliner went on effortlessly and stayed on the entire day at work and the whole night. I was too tired to remove my makeup the first night I wore it to work, and when I woke up the eyeliner was still perfect!! No smudging, perfectly straight line still. Granted, I did wear Urban Decay eye primer but I have slightly oily eyelids and have never had this happen before. Removing it was really easy, no issues at all and no need for pricey makeup remover. Highly recommend to anyone and everyone! I will only ever buy this eyeliner from now on. Can't wait to see what other products ysl has now.

best eyeliner pencil ever. you can put on a precise thin line, or a smudged chubby line...whichever you like. it lasts all day and doesn't rub off into your eyelid crease at all.
the only complaint that i would have is that it doesn't last very long, but the quality of the eyeliner itself is fab!!

I have this in Black Ink and Patent Leather and these are my favorite eyeliners ever. They are super creamy, which makes them easy to use but they do set so they are long wearing. I have super oily eyelids, so these do smudge a tiny tiny bit but nothing to worry about! I will always repurchase this! :)

I received this eyeliner in the YSL holiday gift set and i really like it. However, it's a little too harsh for my skintone (i usually wear brown). The black is very pigmented and extremely waterproof! So if that's what you're looking for i would highly recommend this product.

Highly pigmented and it goes on smoothly but a little too thick in my opinion. It's easy to apply too much and (un)fortunately, it's solid waterproof. Because of this, I'm now in the market for a good eye makeup remover. Also, I suspect that my eyes are too sensitive because they tend to develop allergy-like reactions when I wear eyeliner, but it's not only to this specific product but to eyeliners in general. I will do some research on the ingredients and I'd recommend the same to everyone.

I purchased the black eyeliner for summertime so I could be out in the humidity and heat with an evening look that wouldn't smear and leave me looking trashy. This product does not budge. It does exactly what you hope it will. It stays put. A couple of hints: keep in mind this stuff is meant to be waterproof and unyielding so you have a small window to blend after application--30 seconds to a minute, I find. It also has a heavy, noticeable feel to it, kind of weighty. I don't typically sense my eyeliner once it's on. If this bothers you at first, just relax and you'll get used to it.

Melts right off waterline!

Judging by the other reviews, this is a fantastic eyeliner, but it's rubbish for use on the waterline. It stings, it smudges and melts right off. It's worse than a drugstore eyeliner. So don't buy if you're looking for waterline eyeliner, but otherwise I'm sure it's wonderous!
