Pros and cons to this product

This product did a fabulous job at making my colour treated, damaged hair really shinny and healthy looking, with zero frizz and fly away hairs. HOWEVER, I am a bleach blonde and this product did tint my blonde colour making it more of a dirty blonde. Not sure if this will fade after a few washes or if it's permanent, but that's my experience with this.

Quick Take: not bad
This treatment worked ok for me. I was not unhappy with it but I doubt I would buy it again for the price. There are several steps and the results were average. My hair appeared shiner, silkier and healthier for a week or so but you have to keep doing the treatment and using the products and it did not completely straighten my already pretty straight hair like I thought it would.

A waste of money and time

I bought this product without reading the precious reviews posted on sephora, if I had read them I wouldn't have bought it. Because I live far away, it was difficult to return it. So I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. First of all the clarifying shampoo wasn't foamy at all, I wasn't sure if my hair was clean enough or not, or if I applied the right amount or not. After washing the hair, u have to apply the treatment, well, that was a bit tricky, because the treatment is very liquidy and when you pour an ounce in the measuring cup how do u put it on your hair? You can't just pour the whole amount in one area! So I ended up applying it as if I'm applying hair dye. For The rest of my hair I applied the treatment immediately from the bottle, it was
much easier. But then i wasnt able to know how much i applied!
The treatment is brown btw! I was working over the sink and the whole thing turned brown, but it went off after rinsing.
I combed and combed, blow dried my hair and ironed it as instructed. The way my hair looked after ironing was different from the way it usually looks after I get my salon keratin treatment, that's when I became sure that it wasn't going to work!
I waited for 3 days before washing my hair.. And guess what?! Nothing happened. My hair was the same..frizzy and with more broken ends thanks to the extensive blow drying and ironing..
One more thing, the conditioner smells really bad..

It's ok for an at home treatment

I've gotten numerous keratin treatments professionally at the salon and this treatment has pretty comparable initial results. However, the effects only last about two weeks. I bought it more to get rid of frizz than to straighten curls.
I used a flat iron that was less than the recommended 400-something degrees and just went over each section a few more times. I don't know if that possibly had a major effect...Also, the directions mentioned a brush/comb that come with the set that I did not get in mine. And the touch-up spray had a really nasty glob of I-don't-even-know-what wedged in the tube (pretty disgusting). But once I got it out, the spray worked ok. The shampoo and conditioner are a waste of money.

Quick Take: toooo expensive to not work
The treatment is very watery. Its semed to just get on my scalp aand run off.The conditioner smells like dodo. Why would anyone want to put a conditioner that smells like that in their hair. So after i blow dried and straightened my hair. It did not come out as straiight as the rest of my hair which has the salon keratin treatment. but as soon as i started to sweat my hair looked like I never put anything in it only my previous treatment stayed straight.

I almost wanted to cry after the three day settle period. Everything is the same! That means that I waste the whole night doing the treatment. You will be disappointed after the wash. Just as me did.

Quick Take: waste of money, waste of time
An awful product. A friend who is a stylist helped me apply the product and I still had disasterous results. Looked good for two days and then after I washed my hair it was exactly the same as before I washed it. Plus, the products really smell bad - like dead bodies. Enough that people around me could smell it. It saved me no time in my morning schedule - I still had to flat iron my hair every morning. And it actually darkened my blond streaks a little.

I am an African American and I have tried several keratin treatments one of which was a professional treatment. This is the second home keratin treatment I have tried and this one is by far the best. Though it is not a relaxer it gave me the results of an relaxer. I cannot count the
number of compliments I have received after using this product. The only note is, your hair texture will improve
as you continue to use the product. So if you don't see the
results you want after one use, continue to use it, you won't regret it. Finally the product is pricey, but it is in line
with other at-home keratin treatments.

Quick Take: good value
I used this over the summer, and have not found anything that was as good since. I think its more of a treatment than a straightener, but it makes your hair healthy, shiny, and smooth. It also reduces frizz and it took half the time to blow dry my hair, I barely had to straighten, and it would stay straight. You do have to follow the directions, or it wont work. That was my first mistake, if you don't have the proper heat on your straightener IT DOES NOT WORK. Also make sure not to over apply, and really follow the measuring directions (DO NOT OVER APPLY). Make sure not to get your hair wet early either & deff. use sulfate free shampoo & cond. if you do not buy the kit that comes with it (which works great by the way...so does the after care spray). It lasts about 30 days, maybe a little less but it comes with enough to do more than one treatment (and I have long hair). It also does make a mess so be prepared for that, as well as spending a decent amount of time - not a quick process.

I would have given this system a 5 star if the pump on the daily treatment had worked and the keratinwould have been less messy to apply. I had to return this system twice to finally settle on the more expensive set of two (shampoo & Keratin lotion). The keratin lotion cuts the amount of styling in half for those who rely in various products to make their hair less frizzy. My suggestions: 1) making the pumps more useful. 2) Make the smell of the products more pleasant (specially the shampoo and conditioner). 3) Keratin lotion easier to apply

I keep getting e-mails from Sephora to review products, so here goes my first review, hope it's helpful:
I have long, past my shoulder-blades, fine hair and a lot of it. I got a digital perm a year ago and now the ends have a nice, loose spiral curl that I love, however I've had problems with dryness, unruliness, fly-aways, and breakage. So I figured I'd give this product a try since it's suppose to make hair more manageable without relaxing it (too much). It's pricey for me, but I figure there's 2 applications and compared to a salon treatment, much less expensive. I followed the directions as closely as I could, and after 48 hours I had more manageable hair that felt strong and healthy and was only a bit more relaxed than it was prior to treating. Plus I can go longer between styling and washing my hair and it held it's shape a lot better. This is what i was hoping for, so I'm happy. Caveat: I have never had a professional keratin treatment, so I cannot honestly compare this to them. Also I bought the whole kit with the shampoo and conditioner and I've used it as a system, so it may effect my results compared to other people's. I can say have used it with a natural shampoo such as Phyto and Ojon that doesn't have sodium chloride in it (it strips keratin) and my hair still looked good that day, so I think it should be fine.
If you are interested, look up the instructions and see if you can do them. Briefly, wash your hair a couple times with the provided clarifying shampoo that really gets it "squeaky" clean. Then you comb and partition your hair, spray on the keratin and comb it through evenly, leave it on for a bit then blow dry your hair in sections. Finally you section your hair again and flat-iron in 2 inch sections. Leave it dry and straight for 48 hours before washing.
I'm satisfied with my results, but here are some important tips that I'm either glad I did, or wish I had done or known:
1. Make sure you have 48 hours where you know you are not going to need to get your hair wet, it's not going to rain, and you know you're not going to do anything strenuous that will kink your hair or get you extremely sweaty. The few times my hair got a little damp or kinked, I just blow-dried it quickly and ran the flat-iron over it and it turned out fine.
2. Make sure you have a flat-iron that will reach the temp your hair needs to be at. The suggested temp was over 400 degrees F for my hair type and the flat-iron I had did not get that high, so I had to buy a new one. I didn't get an expensive one, just a drugstore one that met the specs and it worked fine. The right temp is key in bonding the keratin to your hair and I think a lot of people with bad reviews probably thought they had the right kind of iron, but didn't. Just because it's an expensive iron, doesn't mean it reaches the right temp- read the specs!
3. The keratin spray is light brown, it will make your counters, rug, floors, shirt etc splattered with light brown. But it wipes off and washes out easily if you don't let it sit. My hair is dark, but if you have very light hair, I don't know if it will alter your color, but I think the product info says it won't. I'd check.
4. I over-saturated my hair and it took a while to dry and wasted product. In retrospect, I wish I would have measured out what I was not going to use and set it aside so that only the amount I needed would have sprayed out onto my hair. Afterward, you can just pour what's left back into the spray bottle and keep it for your second treatment.
5. I wish I would have thought to recruit a friend's help. I started my treatment a little after midnight and was done with the whole thing by 2am, so not too bad. Your arms get tired if you have a lot of hair. If you have a friend it's much easier to get it straight faster, without burning yourself, and if you take turns you could even share the treatment- and the cost.
Overall I'm happy with how may hair looks and feels and it did improve the quality of my hair. It's been 2 weeks and it still looks good. Not with awe-inspiring differences, but that's not what I was expecting. No one stopped me at work or in the street to ask me what I did to my hair (except for the first 48 when it was stick straight while it was bonding) But I notice a difference, it takes me less than half the time to get my hair looking good in the morning. So I really give it 4.5 stars because it worked for me and I'm glad that someone thought to develop an at-home alternative to keratin bonding, minus half a star because it's not so easy to use and also the results are not dramatic. Good luck, hope you are happy as I am.

I had high hopes but did not work for me infact it made my hair more curly. Made my hair little soft. Need lots of shampoo and the conditioner was ok. The spray stuck and did not work after several uses. Overall, did nothing to my hair. I threw away whatever I had left..

I have long. somewhat straight hair and used this product only once so far. I did see some difference as far as my hair was smoother and silkier and even easier to straighten. It did appear healthier too. I am interested to see if the second treatment yields more results. Not sure if I would buy this product again because of the expense.

I live in Hawaii in the tropical rain forest so the humidty ruins my hair with frizz! I read all the reviews and I have never written a review before but I was so impressed with the results. I used it right to the "T" on the instructions and my hair came out looking like I jsut walked out of a salon. I find myself looking in the as I walk by any reflective surface admiring my hair. I have NEVER done that!! I will be buying it regularly!

I have thick below the shoulder length hair, and it's pretty straight although I flat iron every day. I tried this product last night following the directions to a "T". My hair definately came out smoother, shinier and healthier looking than it was before I used the product so I am not dissatisfied with it but not sure if I wold buy it again. I actually needed a trim (as I had some split ends) but I wanted to see if this product would repair the hair....and it did. It's not a miracle product but I did notice some difference in the feel of my hair and the look. I havent tried the Brazillian or any other Keratin products so I don't have anything to compare it to. I do like the effect it has on my hair -but was hoping to LOVE it for the money. I will see how long it lasts and how the second applicaiton works.

I had such high hopes for this product but it absolutely did not work. I spent over 3 hours (!!!!) doing it very carefully reading the directions step by step and waited 56 hours for it to set. I washed it this morning and noticed it did not work at all. It is so disappointing. Don't spend your money on this product if you have thick curly hair!

I was hoping this would be a great collection; however, it left my fine, wavy hair feeling extremely dried out! Fortunately, I had some Liquid Keratin products left over and was able to retreat my hair using those product.
