Quick Take: easy to use, conditioning, softens, moisturizing
I really like this spray. Initially I was dismayed at the small size of the bottle (I knew it was only 4oz, but it is funny how small 4 oz truly is). I thought for sure I would fly through a bottle in two weeks or even a month, which makes it too expensive at $20 a month (I also use the Ocean Wave spray and the Sun Mist spray).
I look at it less as a recovery spray and more as a prevention measure prior to sun exposure. I cannot attest to its "recovery" in revitalizing dried, sun exposed hair because I use it after my shower in the morning before I go out. I love how soft it makes my hair. You cannot tell from the picture, but it is a dual-phase, meaning you shake it so the two parts combine prior to spritzing. I don't use a lot and my hair is almost down to my waist. My hair gets oily at the scalp, but is terribly dry at the ends. Alterna was smart in making the spritz mechanism a fine mist, so you use less of the product as it covers more area, if that makes sense.
I wish they put all three (the Recovery Spray, Ocean Wave Spray, and Sun Mist shimmer spray) in a gift set and lowered the price a bit. That would be ideal. But at any rate, I do plan on repurchasing save for any major drawbacks or unexpected poor results. The UVA/UVA protection is worth it.

I live in Florida and practically live at the beach year round. This product has been a life saver for my color treated hair. My color lasts longer, and my hair is softer and less damaged even if I'm out of conditioner. As an added plus, my hubby loves the smell!

Quick Take: greasy
I bought this spray to take on our trip to the Caribbean. I wanted to protect my hair color from the elements since I'd be in and out of the sun and water throughout the trip. While this did help me detangle my hair after the shower, it also made it somewhat greasy and feel strange. My color didn't fade but I don't know if greasy hair is a fair trade for that.

Quick Take: light
I spend all of my time out in the sun and saltwater so I just had to try this spray. It does just as it says with the recovery. My only issue with this is I have a lot of fine hair and this tends to weigh it down when first applied. It definitely makes it feel better, but not something I can use if I want my hair to have body.

I am tough on my hair during the summer- salt, sun, and lots of it on my colored and highlighted hair- I needed a product like this to help my hair in decent shape. This leave-in goes above and beyond, and it protects my highlights without them turning brassy in the sun. Case in point- I went camping on a barrier island for 4 days- MAJOR sun and salt exposure. I used this spray all weekend long and after being in the water all day I could still get a brush through my hair and not yank wads of it out. And when I got back home, my color and highlights looked just as fresh as when I'd gotten it done. Bonus- the scent is great! This will definitely be a summer staple in my boat bag.

Great for "jeep" hair

This product was recommended by a Sephora sales associate, in-store. I had never tried this brand, but had heard good things about it. I like it! I spray it on my damp hair after washing and put it up in a bun and head out into the sun. Not only does it protect, but it is supposed to also help past damage...I think it does. When I get home at night I rinse it out and let it air dry and it still smells great and feels super soft. Definately solved my problem of my hair drying out in the sun and air.

Great leave in conditioner for after a day at the beach or sun exposure. Doesn't leave hair with a limp greasy feeling as most leave in conditioners do. I use it before flat ironing as well, leaves hair soft and shiney

I really enjoy this product because it is very light and won't make you hair feel heavy. I sometimes get an oily scalp but this doesn't make it feel greasy. Some reviews were saying that the smell isn't that good but personally i thing it is delicious! its like a coconut and mango smoothie which may sound weird but it smells so yummy :) overall an awesome product

Honestly, I wanted to love this product but I really didn't! My hair is naturally wavy and it didn't do anything for me. On top of that, it made my hair really tangled after I showered the next day. It is a very lightweight product but I had to return because I didn't love it.

ive been using this for about 2 weeks now and i think it works. well my hair has not been any worse at least. i dont like the smell at all. when i first sprayed it i thought it smelled good but then it smelled fishy. on a good note my didnt smell fishy. its a good product but im sure theres better

I like the fact that this spray seems to have two purposes -- as a leave-in conditioner and also as a sun protectant. It also doesn't make my hair greasy so I can use it throughout the day when I know I will be in the sun a lot.

I work outside on the beach all day and this stuff is a real hair-saver. It's a lightweight leave in conditioner and really keeps my hair from getting that fried look associated with the summer sun. As a bonus I love the smell- I find that it smells like pineapple and maybe some mango.
