Cleared up spots and scars
-05.19.13
Quick Take: exfoliating, brightening clears up blemishes
I'm Asian, 35, with sensitive combination skin.
About a month ago, I started breaking out on my jawline and forehead. I used REN's facial wash and toner a while back, and decided to give the serum a try. I saw results within the first week. My sister says my skin looks great. This product definitely works!

I use this product nightly for seven days and then off for fourteen days, then repeat. It makes my skin glow!
The scent is pleasant...not overpowering at all. This stuff is amazing! You can absolutely see the difference.

Best Exfoliator
-05.03.13
I used to scrub my face regularly until I found it. Tried a sample from Sephora and rushed back to get a full size. It smells good, feels good, is easy to use and leaves your skin radiant. If you apply it at evening, you'll see your face literally , radiant the next morning. will stick with it:)

A Truly Amazing Concentrate...
-04.05.13
This product has helped my 34-year-old combo/acne-prone skin dramatically. I saw marked results with the very first use. Three months later I am still hooked! I follow the one week on, two weeks off method and this works very well for me. My skin is overall smoother, softer and brighter. My breakouts are no longer a problem and my oily T-zone no longer requires constant blotting. This is the first time in my adult life that I have been able to look in the mirror and actually like the way my skin looks. Thanks REN!!!

Ouch
-03.07.13
Quick Take: exfoliating
Not suitable for sensitive skin. The watery texture made it hard to work with and the scent isn't that pleasant. It did exfoliate really well but my skin needs something less burning and an easier formula for application.

Not So Much
-02.27.13
Did virtually nothing, used for close to 3 weeks and had to return. It didn't make a dent in terms of resurfacing, more like a serum than anything else. I love their other products, specifically the mask, but this fell short.

Impressive at first, but not in the long run
-02.04.13
Quick Take: exfoliating, increases sensitivity, burns
I bought this after trying 2 samples because I loved that fast results I saw in my skin. It brightens and evens tone, reduced scarring and even helped keep my skin clearer. After using this for a few months now, I am a little disappointed. Since this is a strong chemical exfoliant, I would only recommend using this a few times a week, even if you don't have sensitve skin. I noticed after using this, my skin became more sensitive than before and it kind of actually hurts to use this now. Also, I think my skin isn't getting the benefits like it used to, as if it's tolerant of the product.
Overall, if you have minor scarring or you just want to incorporate a chemical exfoliant into your skincare regime, this isn't a bad option. Be sure not to overuse it and use SPF! :)

too light
-01.30.13
This product did nothing for my face.
I felt like I had drops of ginger placed on my face.
It was too concentrated and liquidity.
Dries up too quick.
Not my cup of tea.

Wow
-01.27.13
I give this product 4/5 stars. The reason being is because when I put it on my face, it burned and my initial thought was "I don't think a face product should burn..." After it settled for a minute however, the burning stopped. I only used a sample of it but I was able to see a difference in my skin tone almost immediately. I used it before bed after I had washed all the makeup off. My husband took one look at me and said "did you put makeup back on?" My skin tone was even and it had a nice glow to it.

Effective
-01.22.13
Quick Take: hydrating, exfoliating, moisturizing
After just 2 days of use I've noticed a pretty remarkable improvement. My blackheads have almost disappeared, and my skin is more hydrated, less flaky and less dull. It seems like the alphahydroxy acids just kind of burn off all the dead stuff, leaving healthy skin behind.

Surprisingly effective!
-01.12.13
Quick Take: hydrating, exfoliating, moisturizing
I wasn't expecting to like this product after I received it as a gift from a friend. Because I am a makeup artist and a total product junky I've tried various exfoliating products that contain glycolic acid in the past and have found them to be too harsh on my sensitive, oily, acne prone skin. Because this was a gift I decided to give it a go and I am completely SOLD on this product. As I mentioned most of my experience in the past with glycolic acid has been not so good. I find that this one is gentle enough on my skin and yet effective! I used it on for 7 days and off for 14 just as it was suggested on here. Ironically this method isn't mentioned on the packaging, nor is it on the REN website. I didn't see the full effects until the 6th night that I've used it. It works! Even though this doesn't contain any BHA's it cleared out my pores without breaking me out or stripping my skin, quite the contrary it actually helped moisturize and plump up my skin! I'm only 24 so I don't have wrinkles but I do have one particularly deep expression line on my brow bone just above the bridge of my nose. I didn't expect this product to reduce it's appearance but it did! I did see the "Radiance" that this product promised and highly suggest it to everyone. It also helped fade some existing hyper active pigmentation that was left behind from previous blemishes! I can't put my finger on the scent but to me in reminds me of some sort of sour candy like sweet-tarts or something of that nature, it's non offensive though, in fact I kind of like it. I was a bit concerned about how long the product would last me given that you have to use an entire pipet of it for every application. Products that run out quickly tend to aggravate me to the point where I don't want to repurchase them, not only do they get pricey but they are also an inconvenience. The first week I only used about 1/10 or so(probably a little less) of the bottle which makes this a feasible investment for my routine. Keep in mind I use this on for 7 nights then off for 14 nights. Because this is a gradual exfoliating treatment I avoid all other products that contain exfoliants(including acne products) for the week that I am using it and make sure to use sunscreen and limit my sun exposure. I could not be happier and neither could my skin.

Could not stand the smell
-01.10.13
I recevied this as a sample and although it worked well and made my skin feel smooth - is it just me? or did the product have the most foul smell? I could not fall asleep because of the smell that I had to wash my face and hands of the product. I really thought it stank, even though my skin felt smooth.

Amazing product
-01.08.13
Quick Take: hydrating, exfoliating, moisturizing, toning, smoothing
I got this product in store as a sample, tried it that night and instantly saw a change in my skin. I have really bumpy dry skin and I get dryness around my nose especially but when I used this product that night, the next morning my skin felt so smooth, soft and looked bright and toned. I just bought the full bottle in store! Normally I wouldnt spend 54$ on something like this but the sample really proved itself. I was skeptical on how a serum could exfoliate but it really did make my dry skin go away too, not sure if it helps acne yet.I just love it!

Amazing Product! Highly recommend! Great for light acne scarring and day-day acne control. Received a sample, and was impressed enough to purchase the full sized bottle. It's worth the price!

I wanted to Love this product! But when I received it I noticed the bottle seemed to have some of the product missing. It was completely sealed, so I decided to try it out anyway- I did not like the smell. I continued to use it anyway, but did not notice a difference at all on my skin. It's a completely watery texture, which was difficult to work with and I just felt a little sticky and weird. Overall, not a huge fan.. I continued use and still did not see any difference in my skin. Had to return it.

Not Dramatic But Works
-12.06.12
My skin is in decent shape but there's always room for improvement. I haven't seen a dramatic difference in my pores or 2 small dark spots but it does leave my skin looking better. I've seen conflicting directions on how often to apply in other reviews so I'm not really sure about that. I do find this product to be very drying even though I consider my skin average, not oily and not too dry, so I think using a moisturizer on top is a must.

Quick Take: exfoliating, brightening, anti-aging
Love this product! I use it at night, prior to moisturizer (Ole Henriksen Smooth Transformation). I use it approximately every other night, alternating with the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta peel, and have seen great results. Overall, my skin is smoother, brighter, and absorbs product better, plus I've had fewer breakouts.

One application of a sample made me break out all over my face. Maybe this is a beginning of resurfacing :) Furthermore, the smell is very chemical and rather disgusting.
