perfect sun protection

Quick Take: easy to use, quick results
After having my hair colored prior to a trip to San Juan, I purchased this Alterna item to protect my hair from the intense sun. It goes on easily and added a nice luster to my hair. It did feel weightless and yet I knew it was working to protect my color.

I surf and I need protection for my hair. This has been the perfect product. I dont care much for losing my hair color, I want my hair to be healthy and this product allows that to happen.
My hair is still soft after being in the water for hours and it makes it easy to brush my hair after as well.

I purchased it because its UV+ protection. I didn't expect other functions, but my hair feels so smoothy and silky after I apply it! Haven't have chance to see its sun protection, but I trust it.

Really does work and helps to maintain color for as long as possible. I have oily hair and it does not make my hair more oily- it just makes it more soft and shiny. Only 1 pump each day is necessary for my hair- more than that would be too much.

Doesn't seem to create "shine"

It's oily in consistency. When I use it in my hair, I don't notice any difference (smoothness, vibrancy, shine, etc.). I have used the Bamboo Smooth anti-breakage thermal protectant spray which is supposed to create smooth, frizz-free hair and it seems to work better (it's more of a creamy balm consistency rather than oily). I'm not sure if they market these two products as performing the same thing, but if you're considering this product, I would advise using the Bamboo Smooth anti-breakage thermal protectant spray instead.

First off - the ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars, is because the pump is kinda messy - and can even squirt on you, if you're not careful. I have tried to prevent this - but the only way I can think of is holding it away from me when I squirt it in my hand.
Other than that - I LOVE the stuff. I have used a lot of hair products, since dying my hair bright red, regularly - about two years ago or more.
It DOES seem to maintain the color. A little goes a long way. SMELLS great. I usually work it into my dry ends more than anything.....then apply it from the bottom up.
Even If you do use a lot, it doesn't seem to make your hair greasy - and I have products that do that. I only wash my hair every other day, to maintain color - and it took me a while to post this - because I wanted to MAKE SURE it helps maintain color - along with my TOP END shampoo. I can only say, I've been using a TOP END shampoo for quite a while, and I didn't notice the hair color not fading quickly until I started using this.
Not only that, but it has multiple uses. Pretty cool stuff, if you ask me. Worth the price.

leave-in fluid and nourishing

This leave-in has a sweet-fruity scent that also nourishes the ends of my hair while protecting my color-treated locks. I apply this goodie to the ends then work the remains up so I can hairdry my thick naturally wavy hair. It's helping to protect during the cold dry season.

Quick Take: easy to use, quick results
So, I got this as a tiny little sample. Lasted FOREVER. Decided to buy the whole bottle. Smells GREAT, and I've put on a TON before, and my hair still doesn't get oily like it does with other products. I can't say FOR SURE if it makes my bright-red color last longer, but it seems to. Anyway, a little bit goes a long way, for sure. $24 for a large-sized bottle is not bad AT ALL. I will buy again. And I am SUPER picky and snobby about my hair products. :)

Good for moisture; Not too heavy or oily

Does this prevent color fade? I'm not sure. What I am sure about is that I can put a little on damp hair to protect it before blow drying or flat ironing, or on dry hair to smooth flyaways and add moisture -- and it does the job. My hair is really, really fine (unfortunately), and as long as I don't use too much, I don't feel at all oily. In fact, I've tried several other hair oils, and this is only one of two that I've tried (the other is Couture Color Pequi Oil) that doesn't leave me wanting to wash my hair immediately.

I noticed the scent first, similar to fresh oranges. I use this by squirting a little bit in the palm of my hand, rubbing my hands together then run through hair. Instant shine, nice smooth hair and great scent! LOVE IT !!!

can't live without this now

This product makes my hair feel like silk and smells amazing. A little bit of this product goes a long way. I usually do about 3 pumps in my hand and then evenly spread it over my hair (my hair is shoulder length). It also makes my hair shiny without feeling greasy (just don't put it near your roots). So far, I have noticed my red hair color seems to stay vibrant a little longer.

Ya que es una excelente compania, la cual he visitado en varios estados, por que no abren una tienda en Plaza del Norte en Hatillo PR o en Mayaguez Mall. Es que lo malo que tiene la tienda de PR es la distancia que son casi 3 horas de viaje. Es muy buena tienda es por eso que quisiera una mas cerca

I bought this before a trip to Mexico. 10 days of pool water, ocean swims and the Mexican sun, and my hair was still looking good. This missing star is for the consistency. It's quite heavy for hair that is fine.

I love this stuff! It keeps my thick hair shiny for days with just a couple pumps. I have seen a serious reduction of split ends when I apply the fluide before I apply heat. It also makes my hair soft, and it is lightweight. I'm buying my mom this for Christmas as well, she tried it on her color treated hair and loved it.

Quick Take: great for protecting ends
I purchased this before a trip- the major selling point is that it's under 3oz, so you can bring it carry on. I've always loved Alterna, so I assumed this would be a great product. I used it everyday in the sun and it kept the ombre on my recently done hair (although the reddish cast did fade in the sun). It also made even the most damaged ends soft. I've continued to use it since I returned & it's been great. You can also use a lot without making your hair greasy or feeling as though you wasted the whole bottle in two pumps. I'd buy it again.

My hair is oily and static-y at the same time. If I use a product to control oil the static gets worse and my hair gets very frizzy and if I use a product to control static it makes it more oily. I got this as a sample and tried it because I color my hair.
Well, a wonderful side effect was that it controlled the static and frizz and did NOT make my hair more oily and it had great shine! I immediately bought a full-size bottle after trying the sample.
It also does what it says about preventing color from fading. I walk/run 3 miles to work 5 days a week and my hair color faded quickly in the past, but not with this stuff. They better not discontinue it or I'll cry!
