First, I love the wand- super easy and convenient. I was really wanting more oomph than what this offers. Yes, it's pretty but I don't think it's worth that much and it certainly isn't perfectly made. Although the wand is user friendly, it easily makes the application streaky esp since it drys to fast. I was expecting more from a Smashbox product. Wish there was a sample rather than buying the whole tube. I regret my purchase.

Love it!

I bought the pearl. It goes on wonderfully. You pump the bottom to release the shimmer onto the brush. I think it is just the right amount. The cap keeps it from drying out, which allows for a great application every time. The pearl provides just enough shimmer without being too much. I thought the gold was a little much for every day use, but I do think I will buy it for the summer to go with my tan :)

Doesn't blend well and just sits on top of your skin. It almost shows more imperfections.

Great product...
-02.06.13
I love almost all Smashbox products, and I am very fair-skinned, and have been looking for a product specifically for Highlighting/contouring for a LONG time. I have come to find... For MY skin type, finding something mainly more matte (for highlighting) has been very difficult. But if you are JUST looking for a highlighter that's more sparkling/ iridescent without being overpowering, this is a WONDERFUL, yet subtle product. Not TOO bad on price, and can have more than one use if you're creative.

It's ok...
-01.21.13
It's ok, the brush tip is pointless. It's so stiff the makeup just globs at the top. I wish I would have just returned it.
Who knows though, maybe in the summer when I wear less makeup I will like it? I guess I think I could use a shimmery eyeshadow instead of this and have paid way less money

LOVE!
-01.06.13
Quick Take: creamy, shimmer, perfect for under eye brightening!
I bought this as an alternative to High Beam as I do not like the new packaging. The color was very similar so I was pleased with that right away. The other thing I love about this handy wand is that it is sheer enough to go over make-up if going out at the end of a long work day. But potent enough to visibly change my problem areas under my make-up. Try putting over dark circles and pimples. It gives a great even tone when foundation is swiped over the top. So far I have been really pleased with this purchase. The only thing I worry about is not knowing when I am about to run out. I'm afraid I will go to use it one day and it will just be gone...GASP!

Quick Take: soft shimmer
This is the perfect finishing touch to my makeup, and very easy to blend. I like to use it under my eyes and high on my cheekbones, and it has just the right amount of shimmer and shine give the perfect glow. I have gotten so many compliments lately, but not giving up my secret yet :)

Horrible highlighter
-11.20.12
This is the worst highlighter I've ever used. It doesn't look natural at all, and it doesn't blend in with your other makeup.
Highlighters are supposed to create a highlight that isn't exactly noticeable - meaning it blends in. This highlighter doesn't at all. It's sparkly (which also highlighter shouldn't have sparkle) and it's oily, and shiny, and glossy. It's like putting lip gloss on your face. And it doesn't blend and you can't tone down the shine with powder. And the gold color isn't natural at all. It's like clown makeup. Sooooo bad!
Don't waste your time or money.

This product provides a nice glow to the skin, but could use a little more shimmer. I like it when I use it on my cheeks and nose.

Allergies

Quick Take: allergenic
I had this wand for about a year however recently i have realized I have been getting a reaction from it. like the only place on my face with tiny bumps were where i had applied the highlighter. Also it has been a reoccuring problem throughout the year.

Great highlighter!
-05.21.12
Quick Take: soft shimmer, sheer coverage
I love this product. I have it in Gold and use it as a highlighter on my cheekbones, cupid's bow, and on the top of my nose. It compliments my skin tone well and can carry it anywhere. I apply it to the back of my hand and then use fingers to put it on and blend into my face. I'm not crazy about the idea of putting the brush directly on my face. Great product.... nice coverage!

I've been looking for a highlighter/luminizer for a long time and have tried several of the cult favs including YSL's Touche Eclat and Benefit High Beam. Smashbox Halo Highlighting Wand in Gold works best for me, though I'm still searching for my holy grail.
I think the key to highlighters is this: Just because everyone loves a particular highlighter doesn't mean it will work with your skintone. Sure, YSL's gets a lot of raves, but it's too orangy with my skin.
Smashbox Halo Highlighter in gold is the best I've found for my skintone, but there are times when I put it on and think, "Is this even doing anything?" (If that happens to you, move to a different mirror in different lighting. You should notice a difference. But don't forget--people shouldn't "see" that you have highlighter on. If they do, then you're doing it wrong, or you're using the wrong shade.
While the brush is a nice idea, it doesn't work particularly well. I use it to apply the highlighter in the general vicinity, then use the Sephora Pro Foundation Brush to blend it into my skin.
