Quick Take: non-drying, long lasting
I purchased this because I wanted a lip stain in a neutral color since I don't wear bright, bold colors on my lips. I purchased a couple of the Tarte LipSurgence lip tints and they are about the same for me (except one of the Tarte ones has glitter in it and it feels really gritty after a while). I purchased this lip tarnish in Mugshot I like it a lot. It feels really good on my lips and it does seem to last a little while. I haven't noticed it to be drying as some other people have said, but I don't wear it everyday, or even often enough, to be able to tell for sure.

Quick Take: non-drying
I bought this on a whim. I have never used the product before the purchase. It's a clever item, with it's own sharpener attached in the lid. However, I don't think it wears as long as they want you to believe. Mine is gone within minutes of applying, without eating or drinking anything. I started to use a lip liner and applying this to help blend the liner color.

I'm usually a fan of Buxom. I was a little disappointed in this product. It doesn't have the true staying power of a stain nor a vibrant color. It's a great concept and feels good burnout what I expected.

I absolutely love this product! It is creamy like a lipstick but long lasting like a stain. For extra oomph, just add some gloss over top. I can't leave home without it.

I love these lip tarnishes so much! You can't go wrong with any of the colors. This is a nice, light nude. All of the lip tarnishes I own have a nice peppermint scent, glide on with ease, and feel amazing on. They keep my lips soft, moisturized, full and look great on all skin tones.

It chapped and dried out my otherwise soft lips. Also it has a funky smell. The color (pinkish nude) is pretty good, but that's the only positive I can give this lip tarnish.

I was a little bit skeptical when I decided to purchase this lip tarnish, but since I was already in love with the other products from Buxom, so I thought why not? I have to say I am very impressed. It gives my lips the good soft and moisturized. I can only say, now I wish to actually own all the colors now :)

Quick Take: long lasting, non-drying, creamy
For me, this product is the best of three worlds! I use it alone because it goes on like lipstick with the edge control of a liner and stays on like "long wear" with a creamy feel instead of dry & crusty feeling. GREAT product!

Quick Take: long lasting, non-drying
I tried this product for the first time yesterday in the Sephora store. I love Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Polish and the Big & Healthy Lip Creams because of the plumping effects and was looking for a handy stick for travel that had the same benefits and was a subtle color that I could use when I didn't want to wear my usual bright coral. (I find the Buxom Lip Sticks a bit drying.) This lip tarnish in Scandal is the perfect mauve/pink shade to give my lips a little color. Plumping effect is a little more subtle, but I love the feel of this product--moisturizing, sheen-like subtle gloss and lasts at least a few hours. I wish they had more shades!

Purchased this product for my daughter, her comments were that the color is nice but she would have gotten a darker color for her lip color. Also, she has to place lip moisturizer on prior to applying the product to make it go on easier.

I love this lip tarnish. I have it in Busted, which is a vivid looking red when applied heavily. However, if you dab it lightly on your lips and rub it in with fingers, it just lightly stains your lips to give them a healthy sheer glow. It does make my lips feel a little dry, but that's normal for stains. I highly recommend this product, and I'm going to be buying it in other colors! Also, if you're worried about dark or bright shades, this would be a good product to start with since you can play around with how vivid the color gets.

Quick Take: glossy, non-drying, tingly
I got this in mugshot because I needed something nude & hydrating. It delivered on the hydration but the color was a bit too shiny for my needs. You *can* layer it but it's still very glossy even with the lightest application and the tingling action that's supposed to plump your lips was just too much for me.
Pros: It does layer, stay in place decently & hydrate.
Cons: It needs to be sharpened & the included sharpener is not that good. The colors are very glossy (which might suit some purposes, just not mine) & the tingling is a constant reminder that you're wearing makeup.

The thing I hate about most stains are some variation of plum or burgundy...which looks horrible. This one is finally a GORGEOUS candy bright pink color that is so popular right now! Finally a great color that wears for hours. Plus it feels like butter when you put it on! Gotta love it Buxom, you did this one right :)

A nice punch of color

Quick Take: non-drying, versatile
I got mine in Blackmail, and the first time I used it I thought "Wow, this color is way too strong and dark."
I was an idiot.
A little goes a long way, and once you get the hang of it, one color can be so many shades, from barely there to very very there. I like to layer it darker toward the edges and corners of my lips and leave the inside of the lip lighter for that "bee-stung" look.
There is a tingly minty feeling to it, but I haven't noticed much plumping- then again I've used plumping products for years now and my lips are probably just tired of reacting to it, haha!
I wouldn't say it's too long lasting, but good enough. One drawback is, if you have any drier patches of skin on your lips, this stuff will cling to that and ruin your look, so exfoliate well!
This product gets bonus points for being so adaptable. I ordered it online thinking the color seemed about right. With many products, that would be a risky move, but with this... I'm pretty sure every color would work for every one provided you found the right amount to apply.
