Quick Take: hydrating, effective, worth it, results in days
I have been using the estee lauder skin illuminator for months and saw absolutely no results. then a month later I use this and after 4-6 uses I could see the acne scars and dark spots fading ! im very happy with this product and would highly recommend it !

Did nothing for acne scars

Quick Take: hydrating, ineffective
I have been using this for three months, in the AM and PM. I have several, as in over 30, acne scars (red marks, not raised or pocked) on my chin and cheeks and I wanted to lighten them without using hydroquinone.
I use one pump and rub it into my skin along my cheeks and chin. (Initially I tried putting it just on the scars, but there are so many it made more sense to apply everywhere.) I have not noticed ANY fading of the scars AT ALL. This makes my skin feel smooth and did not break me out, but I did not pay $75 for an ounce of something to just make my skin feel smooth. I am disappointed in the results of this product, and having used it for over 12 weeks, I feel I have given it plenty of time to give results.
The bottle is also ridiculously huge for the amount of product you are getting. It is only 1 fliud ounce, yet the pump bottle is about 40% larger than the bottle of another product I have that contains 1.7 fl. oz.

Quick Take: moisturizing
I gave it 3 stars because I have only been using it for 2 wks and more time is needed to see if my sun spots begin to fade. I will probably come back to review again in another 4 weeks. Other than that, my skin generally looks brighter, feels smoother and healthier. The sales associate highly recommended this product because I use other PTR products which work well with my skin. I'm hoping it will start to do what it says (fade dark spots)

I am a women of color and had several dark spots from former acne. This product is magic- it completely faded my spots & will prevent them from coming back. Be sure to use it twice a day but within a month your spots will be gone :)

Not for me...

I have been using this for exactly a month, and 3 things happened: 1) I started breaking out, when I hadn't had a pimple since high school (I'm 26) 2) My sun spot and light pigmentation spots stayed the exact same and 3) I'm out of the product, when I was told at Sephora that it would last 3 months (I have been using 2 pumps of it twice daily). I guess it just isn't for my type of skin (which is normal). :(

I wasn't crazy about this product. I used it for about two weeks and saw no improvement. The worst part is that is triggered major acne (which I did not previously have). I definitely wouldn't recommend this product.

Quick Take: hydrating, waste of money
I have hyperpigmentation on one spot on my face. I've used this for 6 months with very little change to the spot. The Murad rapid age spot treatment might be a better choice if you are using this product for hyperpigmentation. Although De-Spot , when used all over my face, did make my face bright and smooth. It did nothing for the issue I purchased this product for.

Quick Take: the best
This Stuff is freakin awesome! I had a hideous dark circle on one of my cheeks and after using this stuff for 4 days its gone. I cannot find where i used to have this dark circle. Definitely worth the price.

Quick Take: non-irritating, effective, absorbs easily into the skin
This formula does not irritate and it easily absorbs into the skin. After using this product for three weeks I wasn't sure there had been much change in my complexion, although it did feel very soft. That was until I visited a lunch spot I regularly go to. The cashier asked if I had had braces removed, and I said no--I hadn't worn any in the past 15 yrs. Then he pointed at my face and said, "you look different, I can't seem to pin point it but it's your face, you look great." A few days later, my sister said that same thing. I use this every morning after washing my face with my Clarisonic, using toner, and then the AHA/BHA acne gel. I also use PTR's Ultra Lite SPF 30 sunblock after the De-Spot. My plan is to continue with this regimen until the De-Spot runs out. Then I will use PTR's Retinol Fusion PM and purchase the De-Spot for only a.m. use. My skin is a golden/medium/olive tone and I have had acne for the last 25 years so I believe this is why it's a bit more difficult for me to notice a change. But other people have noticed and that is good enough for me :)

Quick Take: greasy, slimy
Used for 4 days and started noticing redness in the areas I was using it. I figured I could cover the redness up in the meantime, and I just wanted my marks to fade so I tried another 2 days and then I broke out alot in the areas that I was applying in stuff. So mad. I never break out either. I have pretty good skin too, besides the hyper-pigmentation I have on my cheeks and forehead. Now not only are my cheeks red, but I have big red bumps all over them. Returning immediately.

Amazing product

The title should say it all; this product is BEYOND AMAZING. I know this product is expensive but it is definitely worth it.
I had acne marks and blemishes that wouldn't go away with anything. I went to the SEPHORA by my job and Victor was beyond helpful with this amazing product.
I have combination/oily skin and I use this product only at nights. It doesn'r rub off, it doesn't smell; it's perfect.
I've been using it for a week and a half and the worst marks and blemishes have all vanished!! Except for a couple i just got.
This amazing product is worth it. Give it a try.

I'm 21 and african american, so the acne I get heals with very dark hyper-pigmentation marks. They usually stay on my face for at least 6 months, if not longer... So I've had dark spots for the past 4-5 years really and nothing has worked to lighten them. I started using this product twice daily as recommended (I admit I was a bit excited, so I used it like 3-4 times a day... lol), but I DEFINITELY noticed results. It started to lighten up the lightest spots, but left behind the darker ones. I'm very happy with that though. I suppose in a few weeks the darker ones will start disappearing or at least lightening. I've been using the product for maybe 2-3 weeks and I really like it. It's light, goes on smooth, smells pleasant and it doesn't dry out your skin. I only hope that I'll have enough before I run out since the price was pretty high and I purchased the smaller one. Would definitely recommend!

Pregnancy acne scars?

For the last 3 months of my pregnancy I used this wonderful product to even out my skin! Before using this I was really upset! The scars would peek out thro my make up and I was spending more in foundation than ever! Started using this and in 2 weeks I was wearing less makeup and tool time line pics! Unbelievable results! It's a must have!

Been using twice daily for 3 weeks now and am definitely seeing a lightening. After using PTR wash gel I put it on and let it sit for a few min. to absorb and do it's thing. I'm planning on busting in thru the plunger when I can't get any more out so that I get every drop and that's when I'll be ordering myself another bottle!. Good stuff, this.

I'm African American and I have great skin with minor blemishes. I had twins 9 months ago and my skin had not been the same. I've been using this along with the PTR gel exfoliant and my skin has never looked better. I first discovered this product in Essence magazine and I am sooo thankful for it, even my husband uses it :) it might be a little pricey but you do get a lot for your money and great results! So who cares about the price!

i am very pale(irish). i always use sunscreen but somehow about 2 years ago developed a red freckle on my nose. my dermatologist said it was sun damage and froze it off but the area was still very red after the fact. hydroquinone does nothing and never has for me. so i tried this out. just started using this last week.wow.. it is almost gone...thank you ptr

I've used so many spot correcting products of all prices to help diminish dark spots from sun damage and have always been disappointed in results. This is quite pricey, but I've been using it about a month and there are real, obvious results in reduction of dark spot color. Hasn't caused any skin irritation or breakouts, absorbs well, overall I am thrilled. As a note, I started using Dr. Dennis Gross extra strength peel a week ago along with this product and it is greatly enhancing the results as a combination. Well worth the cost because I am finally seeing results!
